    I applaud Lincoln for ditching that stupid *XYZ123* nomenclature everyone is doing nowadays and giving their vehicles proper names.

      It basically means that they've given up on the international market, but okay.

    • @epbrown01
      @epbrown01 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      M G The reason other companies use letters and numbers is easy translation into other markets (an X5 is X5 everywhere) and no mistranslation in other languages (cf Nova in Spanish).

    • @Geebvs
      @Geebvs 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@epbrown01 Don't think it is an actual reason, many car markers are using universal word-type names and it works. Furthermore haven't heard "Corsair" or "Aviator" and "Nautilus" have some negative meaning anywhere in the world outside US or China. They just gave up with horrible, empty letters. Cadillac should come back for regular names too - latest "CT4" or "XT6" are disgusting, like chinese battery names on AliExpress.

  • @omars.8073

    I do like that Lincoln has created a cohesive design language without making the SUVs look like matryoshka versions of one another. They each manage a refreshing individuality. Other companies are less successful in this regard. Mercedes sedans come to mind, for example. Can you really tell a C-Class from an E-Class when you're 50 feet away?

    • @kz1000ps
      @kz1000ps 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    Just got a Ccorsair with every possible option for 53K. I would have preferred the six-cylinder engine that is in the Nautilis, but I just felt the Nautilis exterior and interior were dated compared to the Corsair. The light weight of the corsair makes it feel just as quick as a Nautilus , but the six-cylinder is much smoother.The smaller size also makes it more nimble and I don’t need the extra space.

    We almost bought one. However, we just bought a 2020 XC60 T5 Momentum for the wife a couple of days
    ago, and she loves it, and so do I. For those of you that are
    considering other makes besides Volvo, the wife's previous vehicle was a
    Mercedes Benz (our third MB) and we shopped the Lexus NX, Acura RDX,
    Cadillac XT, the brand new Lincoln Corsair and Mercedes GLC. Volvo
    wasn't even on our radar when we were out shopping and we decided to
    stop at a Volvo dealer on our way to another brand. Needless to say,
    after test driving and closely examining the XC 60 both of us were sold.
    If you are like us that never considered Volvo before, do a yourself a
    big favor and check out what Volvo has to offer. I think you will be
    pleasantly surprised. And if matters, the current Volvo XC60 being sold
    in the U.S is made in Sweden, not China.

    Try and shop for a similar fully equipped X3. Hard to find a loaded model as compared to the Corsair. The sticker price comparison is nothing but a starting point for negotiation. Try and buy one over the other and see what the out the door price really is. The Lincoln tops the BMW in so many ways.

      The Acura RDX starts at close to $38k where this starts at $35k, and I don't think Lincoln wants to be a small niche player like Acura currently is. The interior of this is arguably more upscale-looking than Acura's, and this car offers a decent amount more tech features also. Saying Lincoln will never advance is silly since sales of all their newest offerings aside from the Continental have been strong if you follow their year-over-year data. The $60k MSRP for a fully loaded model compares to nearly everything this car competes with fully equipped. Most buyers in this segment will likely lease/buy the mid level trims, so harping on the price isn't a solid argument given that the take-rate will likely be less than 15% (and I can't imagine Lincoln doesn't anticipate this as well). This ultimately is a very nice car, especially for an underdog luxury brand like Lincoln.

    I love it. You didn't mention the stupid panoramic roof once. Shows how little value it provides. I'll only consider purchasing the Standard model Corsair to avoid getting this stupid glass roof. I'd rather have the option to obtain a traditional sunroof. But no, Lincoln went full on with the panoramic roof, a basic sunroof be damned. That means no Reserve model for me. I hope in future years and w/ future models, Lincoln reconsiders and makes a sunroof standard and panoramic roof optional. Rocks for brains in Lincoln marketing.

    Lincoln's value proposition is under 45K. Over that amount, Benz & Audi reign. Personally, I love the pseudo Range Rover looks of the Lincoln SUVs, Corsair included. 60K is excessive, I'd prefer a Q5 for that amount. Now, Genesis is adding SUV models which complicate things. Lincoln resale values are abysmal even for luxury crossovers.... I'd lease. Great review Lyn!

Because I own an '18 Q5 and driven extensively the RDX, XC60, GLC etc and lately the Corsair, the Corsairs size and interior (despite comparable engine sizes), is more like the Q3, XC40, X1 etc. At 6"2' I can't fit in the Corsair's rear seat neither headroom nor legroom.. I am perfectly fine in the Q5, GLC, X3 etc. So I think the Corsair is more like a sub- compact to compact SUV while the Nautilus is a compact to less than midsize suv. Exterior dimensions may be compact but interior room is definitely not. Also width of front seats is horrible in every new Lincoln. Including Corsair, Nautilus and Aviator just like their Ford stalemates including the new Explorer.

      We looked at the Audi Q3 and the Corsair is much larger. Q3 not even in the same class as Corsair. Also, Corsair HP is comparable to Q5.

    • @dorado0359
      @dorado0359 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We looked at sub compacts before buying our Corsair and the Q3, X1 and XC40 all were way smaller than the Corsair both inside and out. The Corsair fits between sub compacts and compact SUV's, but more comparable to compacts like the X3 and Q5 in horsepower, exterior and interior diminsions.

    After having the 2.3t for 6mo, this car has turned out to be a real clunker. It frequently stumbles and bucks and can’t find the right gear at slow speeds. Feels more like a Yugo than a luxury car. The car is gorgeous with every possible option, but the drivability ruins it.

    If this car is actually called the "Corsair"--they might find themselves getting into a legal battle with the actual computer company giant: "Corsair"

    • @XavierMathewsEntertainment
      @XavierMathewsEntertainment 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Skylar I doubt either company cares. Two different industries.

    • @de_stroyed
      @de_stroyed 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Xavier Mathews They are different industries, however, the “Corsair” name is copyrighted and legally owned by the computer manufacturer company. For a company, it’s all about branding.
      Corsair doesn’t want people to associate their brand with a car model. Notice the way I’m just trying to explain this to you by saying “Corsair computer manufacture” and “this car”-because I’m not trying to be repetitive by using the same name for the different companies.
      If I was the CEO of Corsair, I’d sue the shit outta Ford.

    • @1drummer172
      @1drummer172 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Skylar Maybe, but I’m not so sure there’s potential for a legal battle. Dating myself here but I’m old enough to remember Ford having used the Corsair name at least once before. Then there’s the fact that the name was used for an American fighter plane from the 50s.

    • @XavierMathewsEntertainment
      @XavierMathewsEntertainment 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      1Drummer right. That’s my point. I’m sure Ford exc probably asked.
      If someone got sued every time they used a name that copyrighted they would never have time to run a business.

      This is comparable to a Lexus NX and, if you’re leasing, the Lincoln might be the best play. Nicer interior, less “common” than Lexus, and overall an impressive vehicle to have under full warranty.
      If you’re buying (new or used), then the Lexus SUVs will almost always win that competition.
