    It is good to still see John Davis reviewing these cars. The original face (and voice) of MotorWeek. Good stuff, guys. And I agree with you. The Lincoln brand is doing leaps and bounds better than its shadow 10 years ago. So glad to see it!

    Lincoln did a great job with making the Corsair look almost nothing like the Ford Escape. I'm really happy to see Lincoln making what hopefully amounts to a big comeback.

    I am so glad that Ford has finally learned how to share a chassis without making it simply badge engineering. The new Lincoln products are awesome!

      Keith Jackson you are so right. The Cadillacs can’t hold a candle to the new Lincolns, and the new Lincolns have real names. If I had my choice between the new Aviator and the XT6 it wouldn’t be hard to make that choice.

      LRulesTheWorld you are absolutely correct! You would think General Motors would learn from their history. The XT 6 is proof that it has not.

      TKE Wrestler I know this is a very unpopular opinion, but I would LOVE to see Ford give their Ford Ecosport the Lincoln treatment, throw the new 1.5 3 Cylinder Ecoboost engine. It would blow the Buick Encore in the dust.

    TBH The 2.0L is perfect for handling this car and its petty reliable. My family fell in love with Lincoln when my aunt bought one after having another brand for 15 years that wasn't the best. My mother then bought one followed by me and three of my cousins. Currently my aunts old Lincoln MKC is rolling with over 250K miles that she gave to my grandfather after buying this Corsair because he loved. One family seven Lincolns we all swear by. Nothing separates you from the outside like a Lincoln. Thanks to Motor Week for continuing to pump out these videos.

    • @linden6352
      @linden6352 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Completely agree... At a car show recently I was most impressed by this over any other new car in the building. Being short, not many cars fit well, but even the base (non "perfect position") seats could fit me and taller people with plenty of headroom. And all of the other Lincolns were just as nice, but for 35k base it's by far the best value of anything out there.

    Really glad to see car names back again. "Aviator" , "Corsair" so much better than MKC or whatever. Everyone decided that since the Germans use letters and numbers then that's what customers want but I think American vehicles should have a proper evocative name not designations.

    • @theKevronHarris
      @theKevronHarris 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good point!! I love the "Corsair" name better than the MK-something name. The "Corsair" name was first used on a Kaiser car called the "Henry J. Corsair" and an Edsel.

    Fellow Baby Boomer, Mr. John Davis has been there and back! I remember back in the 80's when he announced that Lincoln would even be offering a "cellular phone" in one of their new models, a bit humorous now considering all of the innovations since then. How far the automobile industry has come! Although I enjoy his "Retro Reviews" the most BY FAR, the new ones are excellent as well. He is still the best at reviewing new cars and I hope he never retires!

    I could watch the legend John Davis review cars all day. 😎
    Though this was more of a commercial than a review (No 0-60 times, No handling course, No brake performance test, ect) Overall it is quite a nice little suv. 🤔
    I like that Lincoln actually uses names, has its own identity now, a unique and outstanding interior, and does not look like a smiling Whale shark like every other car brand is doing for some odd reason. 🙂
    I generally don't like any Ford products, but Lincoln is making a great argument for their products. And no, price has nothing to do with it. I don't understand people who watch videos of luxury or high performance vehicles and then complain about price. Maybe instead of being a wet blanket, just ask yourself what steps and changes in your life that you need to take to afford such a vehicle? Just a thought. 🧐
    On a side note, great music and visuals in this video.🤩

    • @linden6352
      @linden6352 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah. I went into a Range Rover and this at a car show, and this 40k Lincoln was way better than that Range Rover was. The Range Rover is all touch screens, everything is so complicated, and they focused more on looks than functionality. In this, you have actual buttons that do what they're supposed to, and it also looks great.

    I think the MAZDA CX 5 Signature (AWD, 2.5 turbo) can offer 95% of the Corsair's features for $10,000. less and has styling a cut above the Corsair, especially in MAZDA's beautiful Soul Red color. A 7 speed PUSH BUTTON transmission, and DIGITAL gauge cluster. Its like they havent learned a thing. Couple that with a stick on touchscreen unit that looks like an afterthought, an out of place hvac system that was hastily put together, and fords underpowered drivetrain, and you have a recipe for disaster. Ill expect to see these drop by $20,000 the moment they leave the lot.

    I just test-drove a 2018 Lincoln Continental. I was shocked at how rough the engine was, how slowly the transmission shifted, and how cheap the interior felt. Lincoln fell off my new-car buying radar after that disappointing test drive.

    I love motor week, but they blew it here. It has no cover over the luggage area to hide your valuables. My 2015 Chrysler 200c has more tech and it works better. The phone as a key does not work on iphone11 or os 13. Lincoln says they are behind and have no idea when if or when it will work. If you attempt to change lanes with someone in your blind spot, it does nothing to stop you.. not even a beep, only the usual lighted icon. Pretty, but a waste,

    • @LrulestheworldM8
      @LrulestheworldM8 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Henry Spindler you dont need any of this bullshit. Use your actual key to open the door. Use your head to look around before you change lanes. And btw, you're driving a chrysler sebring. Its just under a different nameplate. Thus making you part of the worst drivers on planet earth club along with the entire toyota brand.

      I fractured my neck ( c2..called a hangman’s fracture) survived the surgery but could no longer turn my neck. I needed a car that would protect me. In 2015 The Chrysler 200 C was the only car with the full suite of safety features . Mercedes, Bmw, Audi etc. all had only one or two. Acura had none. Chrysler had every single one that all brands now brag about. It saved driving for me! It also has a 295 hp V6 that gets 26 mpg, and all wheel drive. When you pay $60,000 for a car, you expect it to come with everything working. My CRV has a luggage cover, and absolutely everything worked perfectly from the start. My Corsair is Beautiful, but maybe I shouldn’t have bought one of the first ones made. Hopefully they will get everything ironed out.
