Your videos are always good, Hagen. As I’ve said before, I think it’s great that Landon is with you more often than not. My father has a pontoon docked at the Frankfort boat dock & my brothers & I went out this past Tuesday. Was loading the boat with rods/reels, nets and a bait tank and a guy at the dock came out laughing and said, “You’re gonna fish THIS pool of water?!?! Good luck!” After netting some shad and drifting up to and back down from lock & dam #5 in Anderson Co. with only two dunk taps, I knew what he meant! Freshwater Dead Sea! Never recovered from the fire at the distillery, I guess. Thanks again for the great vid!

That's awesome you always have your kids w u. That's what gave me the love for fishing. My Papaw would always take me when I was a kid. Once he got older and couldn't get around as well I was able to take him and carry his oxygen and all of our gear down to our spots. It's sad his own boys wouldn't want to deal w all that. I'd walk that stuff back and forth a hundred miles just to get another cpl hrs on the river w him. God Bless y'all, keep catching those monsters.

Ohh we call it whipping here in southeast Michigan. Mainly done for walleye it can be done with a spinning reel but requires two hands. I'd suggest looking into whisker seeker as a nice affordable rod.

OK tell that to the countless people who don't care about limits, wonder why the fishing sucks, and can never find the fish police to enforce any of the rules. We had limits for many species in the world that are now extinct, or on the brink of extinction. Again, easier, cleaner, cheaper, and more environmentally friendly just to buy fish already packaged, ready for consumption at Walmart. Release the fish you catch so other people can have to.

    • @hagengrubbsfishing

I like braid but I think the fish feels everything with braid. I definitely have a lot more confidence with mono when the fish are biting slow. But when bumping braid is the way to go so you can feel the bottom. Thanks for watching and good luck

Maybe do a show on easy to get to public fishing locations I spent some time in the Carrollton area growing up. But I did acomplish one of my bucket list items 3 weeks ago I caught my 50lber it was a flathead I care there wasn't anyone there but me I got some crappy pictures and let em go I got em between Maysville and Augusta. But I watched you and your boy put boat together compared to your first boat brother you came along way I'm not knocking that first boat. But you laid this new one out.
What hurts the most a friend went and got a boat for us to kinda to do the same thing. I could see in his eyes he knows it's purdy much over for me and fishin if they cut my neck it's over I use 10ft and 12ft rods. But him and his son can enjoy fixing the boat up.

Just received my first Monster Rod Holder in the mail. I can confirm that they are very well-made. The problem for me is, that they are too heavy duty for the type of fishing I do, they’re just too big for me. I fish mostly for Crappie, shell cracker, bluegill, white bass, and trout. I don’t need rod holders that would hold up a Chevy Silverado.
I’m hoping that in the near future they’ll start making a line of rod holders that are less heavy duty, but still sturdy, for people like me.
