    Hey Chris,Can I bump in my Lake using my trolling motor and following the creek channel with the trolling motor on around.2 on speed and bump like that?I wanna do this but don’t have rivers like that here.

    • @slungercatoutdoors
      @slungercatoutdoors  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can but in my opinion you would be more productive dragging. The reason this is so productive is you are presenting your bait in a natural presentation in current.

  • @andydavishoosierlegendsken5454
    @andydavishoosierlegendsken5454 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Cool video never seen this done do you only bump dams or can you bump and fast current water and do you go up river or down river

    • @attitudeadjusted9027
      @attitudeadjusted9027 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been bumping on the Missouri for years. We called it walking tho. Mainly on composition transitions like he said. Rock to sand on channel ledges is the best. I'd like to say I don't do much anymore cus I'm old but it's really just lazy lol.

    • @slungercatoutdoors
      @slungercatoutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Normally around where I’m from the dams are the only place to get the current needed to bump but you can do it anywhere as long as you have the current. When we get high water around the upper Ohio it’s a good chance to bump as well.

    • @andydavishoosierlegendsken5454
      @andydavishoosierlegendsken5454 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe this is why I've never heard of bumping or drifting because the Ohio is 30 min from me and I don't have a big enough boat for that river but I have 3 other rivers near me but no dams on them on is about 50 urds wide then the other one is a bit bigger at 150 yrds wide the the Wabash river separating Illinois from indiana is a little bigger then that but there are no dams and I'm 10 min from all 3 rivers so I dont fish the Ohio so i was wondering if you need the current or if you could just bump any part of a river id like to try it but know nothing of it I just throw a line out and pray to have a good day never learned of transition spots or bottom type all good info just dont have a sonar things I am looking into getting right now I'm do it out of my yak or a friends boat

    • @slungercatoutdoors
      @slungercatoutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely try it there are a lot of guys that fish the Missouri River like this and it’s kinda like what your talking about. Definitely need some current but just look for places on the bank and outside bends.

    I do alot of fishing in lakes in Kentucky, would this bumping technique work in lakes or is it mainly rivers, really enjoy watching your videos

    • @slungercatoutdoors
      @slungercatoutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s mainly a river or current deal. But if you have current in your lake than yes you could.

    How fast would you recommend letting your boat slide down river

    • @slungercatoutdoors
      @slungercatoutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It honestly depends on the day and current speed but a good place to start is half the current speed.

    Chris, do you anchor or use your spot lock , then just let your bait bounce down the river or what?

    • @slungercatoutdoors
      @slungercatoutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I normally use the trolling motor to slow my speed down to like half the current speed and then just adjust my sinker size to be able to walk bait down the river.

    • @randyroberts8754
      @randyroberts8754 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@slungercatoutdoors so you just slow drift down river while letting line out or you just have your bait on the bottom close to the boat and basically just let it bounce on the bottom as you go
