Great video. I've never gotten into a mess of them like that. One day I'd love to be able to load the freezer like that with skipjack. Good stuff....stay healthy..

You always make the best bait videos man , this one should blow up . I appreciate you lifting up the camera just enough so I could identify where you were at . Yout secrets out haha
I use to catch skipjack at a power plant near me that weighed over 3 pounds. I didn't know I caught a possible worlds record. I caught a Drum over 50 pounds too. They're thousands of fish of all types there. One guy even caught a Piranha.
Man alive what a blast!!! I took vacation all next week cause i know theyll be there. Landen was putting it on em!!! Proud for u guys!!! Awesome Awesome day!!! Tight lines guys
Thank you Landon that was one of the most awesome videos I’ve seen it taught me a lot how to get skipjack specially since I’m new to this area of fishing on the Tennessee River long-term saltwater fisherman
Sand right my friend y’all were on the skipjacks. Catching bait like that is so much fun. We don’t have skips but we do have whit perch. We catch them on sabiki rigs too. Thanks for sharing this great information. 🇺🇸
Kept some shad from the Columbia for channel cat in Washington State, good bait for sure! Limited to 3 hooks here, will try your tips next June! Enjoy your vids, got to spend some time catfishing in South Carolina with my son in the Air Force this May, love those blues!
Hagen I am very close to lock and damn number 2 Lockport. I have showed multiple friends you're videos we are impressed. I don't big catfish much just channels but I have a great buddy that you would like that is wanting to buy some skipjack off of you . He would really appreciate this and would spend some money or even if he could get 50$ worth. We could drive to meet you wherever . You never have mentioned selling bait but being you are so close and these are so easy for you to catch than us noobs we figured we would ask lol! Thanks brother enjoyed this content for 7 months now
I would gladly help you out but unfortunately I don’t have a bait dealers license. But I have already started seeing some skipjack in the Kentucky river. It’s normally an early morning only bite on the Kentucky. As soon as the water clears some it should be on. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching👍
Amazing! I've never seen this before. Makes me feel that I don't know so much. LOL No one that I know has fished for them this way. You have definitely taught me something today. Your boy is a heck of a fisherman, too. Good job, kiddo!
Cool video. I am so torn between using frozen bait and fresh caught. I catch mainly gizzard shad. I get them on ice as you do, and within minutes dry and vacuum seal then immediately freeze. I am lucky to live on a lake with a good amount of Shad and I simply walk from the dock to my shed where I seal and freeze them.
Another great video Hagen! Gotta love the great memories you're building with Landon. I wish we had skipjack like that here. Have ya looked into buyin the rolls for your vacuum sealer? You can make your own size bags and saves a lot more money in the process.👍 Stay safe out there and God bless you and your family.🕇🇺🇸🕆✊
Great video Hagen, like to get me a couple hundred or so, as soon as they start running up my way, hope you, Landon and your dad catch some dandy’s with them!!!
Awesome video! Love the boat! Love my Deep Vs! I don't want to take your spot over but just wondering which river system you are on. I am in SE TN and never tried for a skipjack before, but going to give it a try this Spring.
I might have missed it; however, what time of year is this? I’m going on my first trip to the high River, and I like to have an idea a good time to go. Thanks for your time and your videos.
Hey Hagen, I've heard the skips are starting to run down at Wolf Creek dam in case your freezer is running low and need to get some close to home. We're going down in the morning ourselves.
What should I do with my bait if I catch it a day before I go fishing. I'm not keeping them alive as i dont have an aerator and I'm kayak fishing. Should I quit freeze them or just put them on ice? Thanks! Love the vids
You ever think about shipping any out? I see so many videos about using skip jack but we don't have them here in Fl. at least not around my area. I've saw some sites that sell that but I'd rather get them from someone that takes care of them and they're fresh. Never know how old they are from bait sites
Im going to get more of my outdoors gear tooking care of i gots to get me some more fishing in the last time i did some skip jacking kids was out on the dam we all had some fun all you got to do is take a child skip jacking when you get home they going to want go again that year we had some fun on the dam
Any of the break away anchors should do good. It’s kind of amazing how good they hold honestly. I normally recommend the never lost because they hold just as good as any and are priced right. Here’s a link if you want to check them out. 👍www.neverlostanchors.com/
Yes I fish for them from the bank most of the time actually because a lot of times you can catch them better from the bank. Thanks for watching and good luck fishing👍
Hagan, thanks for the info, 3 hour drive down there, and I really don't even fish with skipjack, mostly shad caught the day of fishing, just wanted to get out of the house, great video on being safe on the river bad things can happen quickly out there, sorry for butchering your name.
The white ones that I was using are sold out but these are the same ones in green. Be sure to select the size the that you want. The ones I was using were #2
Man I don’t care what anyone was says, catching skipjack are a blast!!! And they double as bait so that’s 2 times the fun👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Great video. I've never gotten into a mess of them like that. One day I'd love to be able to load the freezer like that with skipjack. Good stuff....stay healthy..
Come to Wheeler Dam In late April early May when the run starts. Last year I caught them till the end of November!
Nice video and good explanation on how you keep them iced. Binge watch evening on HG Fishing......"don't take more than you need".....great advice....

Awesome video. No skipjack here in southeast Virginia. We get large gizzard shad here. I wonder if this method would work with those?
O yes. I freeze the big gizzards as well. I do well on them in the colder months.
I might have missed it; however, what time of year is this? I’m going on my first trip to the high River, and I like to have an idea a good time to go. Thanks for your time and your videos.

When do they rum at the Newburgh Indiana lock and dam?
I’m jealous lol my go to spot for skipjack is closed because of the covid19. All of our public parks are gated or roped off.
Hey Hagen, I've heard the skips are starting to run down at Wolf Creek dam in case your freezer is running low and need to get some close to home. We're going down in the morning ourselves.
