Cub Cadet XT1 LT46" Transmission Repair | Low Fluid

  • I thought the drive belt was stretched, but turns out the trans was dry with no fluid in it. I used Heavy duty SAE 30 weight motor oil for the transmission fluid. This is my personal mower.
" Mustie1" was the TH-cam channel I watched go check out his channel as well. The axel seal part number is tt-187t0134280.
amzn.to/3qnwTwK - I found the seals on amazon for $13 if you just search the part number.

I got the 50 inch deck with the same problem. You can remove the battery. There are 2 metal straps that support the battery and they are removable. You should be able to access it that way without removing the transmission in order to fill it back up or maintenence.

Keep a eye out for leaks on trans or axles seals
That’s where the oil leaks out most of the time
Replacing axles seals are easy and fill up trans 😊
I just dropped the trans and turned over to drain 😊

How not to!!! Put in new Seals since you know they are leaking. Powerwash the unit before opening it up. You have likely destroyed that special vent. You may find there is a rubber plug beneath the fan for filling. There are 2 compartments in that tranny. They also need to be vented by fwd/reverse movements. Parts falling off and dragging. Call Tuff Torx for seals. Tenn.

I have a very similar issue with my xt1 42". Out of nowhere the forward and reverse gears stopped working. Took off the deck and cleaned it and checked the belts. Is it more than likely the fluid being low that would stop it from working? I also know there is a switch that when you press for reverse, its connected to the transmission which makes it go backwards. I just don't know if that might be the issue. I'm going to mess around with it and see though. I guess if that doesn't work, I'll pull the transmission. Don't see any leaks though so, I'm not sure what's going on. Appreciate the video though, as it will help get it off if I need to.

@@SimplifiedTruth Hey. I couldn't figure it out myself so, I had a guy who fixed lawnmowers pick it up. He brang it back and said the only issue was in the rear of the mower, with those rod / rods that disengage the transmission. He said something about how it was stuck, and was able to loosen it up. It worked after that so, idk. lol. I ended up at-least getting a tune up for it. Maybe try to oil up near that area? Crazy how after tearing that thing apart, that's all it was. I hope that helps.
