Hi Catherine. OMGosh, those onions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Growing up, my mother worked at Woolworths behind their lunch counter. They had the best food. I am definitely going to try this one. Thanks for sharing.
When I was a kid my mom and I ate at Woolworths when we went shopping. It was such a nice treat and the food was always sooo good! Thanks for reminding me! 💜

Oh Catherine!! Thank you for the memory. Why i was a little girl my mom would sometimes sometimes take us to the Harvest House connected to Woolworth in our local mall. It was such a treat. The Patty Melts were so good! Sometimes mom only had enough money to get a piece of pie and drinks. My sister, mom and i would share the piece of pie. Mom always got a cup of coffee and my sister and i a small pop. (Coke) lol.
What a nice memory.

Yummy!!!!! I know what a Patty melt is and I love them!!! The more onions the better!! I've never thought of making one into a pizza! This is a grand idea!!! I'm definitely making this!!!

I miss the old days when a person could go to an old Mom's Diner and order a old fashion hamburger melt with root beer float or shake. Not like today's restaurants that are franchise. Everything seems fast food tasting.

Something yummy for these cold winter evenings ☺️! Looks absolutely luscious 🌸. I remember, as a kid, eating lunch downtown on Saturdays at Woolworths. They had the best tasting hotdogs....they grilled the hotdog and also the sides of the hotdog bun! I make them like that today from time to time ☺️. Great memories💕 from being a kid growing up in Iowa ☺️🌸

Looks yummy. A GOOD patty melt is one of my favorite sandwiches. They're hard to find these days at a restaurant, no one knows how to make them well anymore. So I just make my own. But this looks good, too. 😃

That looks wonderful. Back in the 70's and 80's, here in Connecticut, we had Pie Plate restaurants that made the best patty melts!! I miss that place.

This was back in the time when they served egg creams! And they would stir a fountain coke to mix in the syrup!😚
Wouldn't it be great to have lunch counters like at Woolworths and Woolco today, all the wonderful food that was so inexpensive and delicious!☺️
