14:05 For those using left-click to select, it will be CTRL+right click to 'snake extrude' :)
thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you! Best tutorial for beginners I found this far. I really like that you keep saying hot keys over and over again, that's really helpful
Glad its helpful! Thanks for watching!
Great series, really easy to understand. I have done the donut tutorial, correction, tried numerous times to do it. I have several books...but your tutorial beats them all.🏆
thanks for watching
I am new to Blender and watched a few tutorials already, but I really like your pacing and how deliberate you introduce feature by feature for a specific purpose and then explain in detail how it works. A lot of thought went into that whole series and I really appreciate that. Thanks for all the work, it really helps.
Thank you for watching! Glad its helpful.
39:15 when rotating the layer of bricks, be sure your transform pivot point is set to 'median point' so the layer rotates around the center like his does. Mine was on 'individual origins' so each individual brick was rotating on it's own axes. This tripped me up for a few mins. P.S. Thanks for the great videos!
I just want to say thank you for taking the time and dedication on making these tutorials. I've been following along and learning so much useful tools along the way. just know your work is appreciated! I'd love to have someone for questions and to lean on since I'm new to this. I'm convinced ill learn most things from your tutorials though. Thanks bro!
thank you for watching!
I really enjoyed it, and the shortcut keys you teach are really good, you let us use them good now I am faster, Mr Ryan YOU are a true King at this, I can't thank you enough.
Thanks for watching. : )
Awesome tutorial! Thank you ever so much! I finally have the motivation to learn since you are explaining this clearly and it's very easy to understand each feature you use.
thanks for watching!
You are a really good teacher. For beginners i recommend to follow you. Big thanks from Türkiye
Thanks for watching!
First of all, thank you for your lessons!! I'm very slow at learning, but I go on. And I was forced to conceive an alternative but effective way for the chimney's bricks. The fact is I discovered I did them perfectly equals by any side, so the z axis rotation of the duplicated frame was absolutely useless! So I rotated it by 180° on x axis, and the result was very good. At last I obtained a very effective alternation of bricks, if we want to find an issue in it is that is not too much randomised... but has a good pattern alternation in a very fast way.
Following along with Blender Version 3.4.1 and so far everything still works just as you say in the video. Minor adjustments to the UI but for the most part nearly identical. Great work, so far I'm enjoying your tutorial series.
Glad to hear you can still follow along even in an updated Blender version. 👍
Using Blender 4.0 and everything is still amazing, love this guys work
Thank you for teaching us from heart.
You are welcome. : )
I am completely new to anything like this. I am looking into getting a 3-d Printer soon and I have read that the biggest hangup for a lot of folks is the software side of things. So I have dedicated a lot of time trying to follow along with some of these tutorials with very little success. But with your help I am actually on video 4. And although I know a lot of this may not be used in what I am particularly shooting for, getting to know my way around these programs is going to be clutch.
high key appreciate that even tho you have the keys showing up and you've said what shortcuts to use a lot, you do still use it. this is 100% legitimate appreciation i'm not being sarcastic. my memory is swiss cheese so i always forget what the shortcuts are. you reiterating them helps it stick in my mind better
It's amazing work brother thank you
you're welcome!
Love your videos !!!! You the best. Kings of art well deserved title my gode sir
glad you like my videos.
realy amazing... Thank you brother
welcome!
Many thanks bro for these awsome videos. i'n new to blender and i'm doing great thanks to u . love from Morocco
thanks for watching!
Thank you, your videos are very nice...
Thank you so much!
it was very helpful. much love to you
thanks for watching!
You are a Best!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you man. I wish you made an accurate house model by using snap tools. It would be bummer when model parts go inside each other!
That went mostly well! A couple of frustrating things were all my fence array counts kept reverting to 6 when I wasn't looking, and the first metaball would adjust with every subsequent metaball.
Yeah I struggled with my metaball clouds too
I am completely new to Blender, and have little (or no, to be absolutely honest) previous experience in 3D modelling. However, your tutorials are so nice that i have developed a dream --- of recreating your contents into Bengali, if you permit, of course, and if I can manage to assemble all the pearls of knowledge that you have been so kindly distributing.
Thank you so much!
Thanks! You can make your own beginner tutorial series, but don't copy exactly what I create in my tutorial. Change it up a bit, or create something a bit different.
Thank you very much for your reply. It's all a dream now. If it comes to reality, I will first share my work with you. It's a promise (not meant to be broken :) ). Thanks again for being such a wonderful teacher.

@RyanKingArt I was talking to my cousin about you

You are one of them
You are the master
The king
Thank you so much again
Very nice tutorial.
Extruding with control + left click not working for me(pathway from driveway to door part). Using blender 3.4. Is there other way to do it? Thank you.
control + right click works
hi really great tutorial for real !!! but I was wondering that maybe at 26:00 when u selected the fence composed by three objects you pressed ctrl + j ? is it possibile because otherwise I don't understand how all there objects are active yellow. Someone can answer me please ?
Double Clicking on edge loops with Magic Mouse works for Mac. Alt - Clicking does not even with emulation.
good video
Thanks!
When I got to the array part of the fence, mine started carrying the fence to the left but in the video it goes to the right. What did I do wrong? Btw, I got it to work but I had to use a value of -1 on the X axis.
Seriously underrated...
Thanks!
Thank you for the amazing job Ryan !
I'm having a little bit of a problem trying to make my first fence pointy @23:10 . After excruding it; the whole fence escales down with the extruded part. Any suggestions ?
Hmm, I don't know why that would happen.
You may have proportional editing switched on; that was the root cause of my entire fence mesh scaling up/down instead of just the extruded top. I switched proportional editing off and was then able to scale just the top face. (You can switch proportional editing on or off with the O (O for Oscar, not the number zero) key).
Thank you a lot. I have a question about clouds. One of the balls keeps moving together when I move any of the clouds.
Hey I my blender subdivision surface is not working It not smooth I make a sharp means a sharp stick like things come from it please help
After building the driveway I added a cube to start building the fence, but the cube had a big sphere inside. Now every time I add a cube, it has a sphere inside. It's so weird. Do you have any ideas on what this might be? Thank you! 🙂
Thank you for this tutorial, I am having trouble in fence array, its duplicating at top instead of right side, couldn’t find any solution for that, Please help
You can change which direction is arrays on the array modifier settings.
One thing ive been having trouble with is trying to select one of the duplicate objects in object mode, I end up selecting everything that has been duplicated from the original object. How are you selecting only one of the bricks at a time in object mode? Really enjoying the series although im a bit late to it, thank you.
Nice tutorial! but when I am setting the "Array" modifier only the fence duplicate without the nail cause their are two separate object, what should I do to fix that?
Select the nails, and then shift select the fence. Then press Control J, to join them together into one object.
@@RyanKingArt it works! Thanks !!!!!
@@shaopaiwang6517 Thank you for watching!
At the moment I'm not quite sure what the difference is between Loop Cuts (Ctrl R) and subdivision. When do you take one or the other?
subdivision will cut up the entire mesh and make it more detailed. A loop cut, will just add a single loop along a face or edge.
@@RyanKingArt Thx a lot
27:04 The modifier adds the clones on left site of the object (setting seems to be identical). Why? What may I have overlooked?
try turning the Factor X to 0, and the Factor Y to 1, on the array modifier.
I was having this exact same issue right now, and what I just did seems to work. I followed Ryan's advice by changing the X and Y factors, but the X to -1, and the Y the same at 0.
For the bricks at the 38:00 mark, why not do something that utilizes the materials and/or the shading nodes?
you could do that if you want to.
Hey Ryan, I have a question about the camera. There seems to be a difference between how the camera view looks in the viewport and what it shows when I hit F12. In the render window the camera seems to be either zoomed in or closer to what I have it pointed at. Do you happen to have any ideas about why I am seeing this difference?
Hmm, I haven't had that problem before. So IDK why that's happening.
@@RyanKingArt I figured out what it was. The default render view is at a higher resolution than my monitor. ^^;
@@Johnny-rx4hs Ooh Ok I see.
Great video. Ctrl and click at 14.40 not working..any ideas ? Thanks
Hmm, I don't know why its not working. You could also just press E, and extrude them out.
Me too unfortunately
it's Ctrl and right click, or that works for me
14:10 Might just be me, but whenever I hold down CTRL and click, nothing happens. If i press CTRL + E + Click, a menu for "Edge" pops up.
WHAT WOULD "PERIOD TO ZOOM IN" AFTER CLICKING AN OBJECT ON A MACBOOK BE?
Just a question, how do you open the "object context menu"?
Just right click to bring up the object context menu
I'm a super noob at blender. When is was building the walkway i couldn't control click and extrude it just want working and when i looked in the front view my walkway was floating in the air help please?
At 23:30 you are able to bring the post to a point at the top with scale, but when I do this the whole panel scales even though I have selected just the top face of it. I can't understand what I'm doing differently?
hmm, you might have the proportional editing on. Try turning it off with the O key.
@@RyanKingArt yes that was it! Thanks!
@@MattPhelps76 glad to help!
When I'm rotating the bricks I'm running into a problem where all the bricks are rotating on their own axis so they're just rotating in place and not necessarily rotating to make a different brick layout on the next row. Does anyone know why that might be?
Change the Transform Pivot point to Median Point.
@@RyanKingArt You're a saviour! Thank you!
looks like the ctrl click is only for right mouse button users. is there any shortcut that you know of for left mouse button users?
try Control + clicking with the other mouse button
@@RyanKingArt i guess mine bugged out a little. for some reason that didn't work yesterday but it seems to be working now. thanks!
29:10 mine wont rotate and the orang yellow dot is not at the center of the fance
❤️
thank you!!
So I’m having some trouble with the array where it’s only duplicating a part of it but not the whole thing. So far I just hit join on all of them and that worked, hopefully that doesn’t mess me up later :)
Are you working on the fence? And its only arraying a part of the fence?
@@RyanKingArt exactly yes
@@hawkfu What part of the fence is not being arrayed? Is the fence all one object?
@@RyanKingArt it is now, I just joined the fence pieces together w control + J and it seemed to work ok. When I did it normally it would only array one item, either the post or the nail, depending on what I had selected last
But it’s really ok, I’ve got a solution that’s working for me :)
ctrl + e to quick extrude not working. I cant figure it out. I did ctrl+right click it works almost same. I did this in top view and still its not planar. The quick extrude seem like its going up and down. Later somehow I managed a pathway but I'm still confused with ctrl + left click (right click for me) quick extrude you told about. Can you look into it, why its not working properly (not coming flat even in orthographic view ).
Also i had a new prob and i solved (incase anyone searches in comment section). The pathway moved differently after solidify. one moved up and other down. ans : recalculate the normals it wil be fine.
What part are you at in the video?
@@RyanKingArt I faced this problem when i was making that pathway to the door. Now I am at the chimney part. Damn all those details and I didnt tell u where I faced this lol. Thanks for the reply
@@RyanKingArt same issue please help I'm at 14:39 stuck at the moment
"Ctrl + right click" for me, too. " I did this in top view and still its not planar. " I meet the same issue. Finally, I found there were more than one vertices overlapped at a point position of the beginnning edge for some reason. And I just deleted extra vertices and just keep one vertex for a point position, then it is planar now.
im using mac, 14:05 i used both left click didn't work and right click didn't work as well, is that because im using mac? and btw ur tutorial is the best thank u so much i learned a lot from u so far
oh it is actually worked by right clicking i just didn't know how to use it
glad you figured it out. 👍
when i try to scale like you did at 22:59 it scales the top face and not the mesh like it did yours
hmm sorry I don't know why its not working for you.
27:00 If your fence array goes out the wrong way, change the Factor X to -1 and it will go the other way.
thanks for sharing!
hmm 14:02 Blender 4.0 "Scaling the Driveway" ... pathway extrude CTRL-CLICK .. this did not work for me ... I had to use CTRL-right-click. I am left handed with reversed mouse buttons so not sure if its a coding bug or a mistake or related to the dif mouse buttons settings Ryan is using, or there's been an update, but I'm adding this here if anyone else gets caught by this.
Hi
I have blender 3.6 latest version
I have problem in pathway turning towards house's door.
I press cotrol click but road goes upwards in turning towards door.
I stuck for more than one week.
I am not understanding how you turning path without going up.
Video time area 13.59 onwards.
Please check and and guide me anyone
Just do the other way he shows of extruding the path and then rotating it
Confused, I'm not getting that curved extrude to work while holding the control key. v3.0
Did you try using both the left and right mouse buttons?
@@RyanKingArt I got it: don't hit E first.
I'm having the same problem when I click control after E (either left or right click) it snaps the piece I extrude back
i m unable to scale while extruding
Blender 3.6 here the proportional size ring doesn't appear
