Hi Jason, the fish are so cagey on a lot of canals and generally won't settle close to the bank where the disturbance is. You'll often catch is short runs if you were to fish closer, while at 14-16m, the fish will generally stay 'switched on' for much longer periods. The pike also tend to be close to the bank, hiding in any weed and waiting for their next meal to be brought close to their noses!
Canal ?? Come fish the bullshead- Birmingham and you willl be sure of a blank some top top canal anglers who win and frame most times have stuggled for a single bite the last month 😂
First of all. Most canals are not 7 or 8 feet deep in fact you be lucky to have 4 feet deep swim in your canal. Secondly you are stating that you keep continuously feeding your swim . Well that is ok if you are getting bites continuously otherwise you will kill your swim by continuously feeding.
Even as a piker, it's always useful to improve my tiddler catching technique. It saves a lot of money when i can bag up silvers on the canal and stick them in the freezer for winter.
I will say if you are going to use pole kn a canal, make sure you aren't set up on the towpath side, its rediculous waiting for some nugget to ship 10 metres of pole for one 3oz roach 😂 and then he's got to ship it back out again 🙄 I've just thought fuck it before now , your taking too long, im coming through 😂
Thanks for this video. Really informative
What a canal that is - great video Nick - thanks mate
Fishing canals much harder than a commercial best place to learn to fish 👌👍
Super video
Can we not stick to lbs? What on earth is all this 0.8 or 0.6 fishing line?
Anyhow, great video thank you.
Serious question, why do you need to fish at 14m / 16m? Why not use a whip and fish closer in? Tight lines.

You are so considerate.
Your parents must be so proud to have spawned an offspring of such tolerant tendencies.
Give yourself a huge pat on the back.
Aint you got a window to lick?
