I've been a plumber in Sydney for 30 years and have had the pleasure of driving every Ute on the market, there was only one that you couldn't kill and it was a 4j Isuzu, Every other Ute had some sort of a warranty problem in its life but the Dmax just keeps on going, might not be the flashiest or refined but if you're looking for a Ute that will do half 1,000,000 km without sneezing this is the one
Just curious if any of those annoying electronic gizmos that rule out the Triton (motor shuts off while waiting & gadget watching the drivers eyes that requires response from the driver). I neither want nor need gadgets. Just a straight-up reliable ute. And can an ARB type of canopy be fitted to the D-Max?
I just picked up a Triton 3 days ago just hit 220km on the clock. The auto stop and go is turned off with one button press, no reason to even consider that as a negative. In my small city it's kind of pointless, but i can see myself loving it when I travel to a big city with traffic queues Now the driver monitor. Yes, when it's dark it is the most annoying thing ever. Every 10 seconds its beeps at you. During the day, it's mostly silent. Unless I drive with one hand centre of the wheel. Turning it off isn't that bad really, roughly 7 scrolls of the dial and 2 pushes and its off. No need to stop to turn it off. These gizmos shouldn't turn any competent person away from the Triton. The truck is well built, solid yet smooth, Plenty of power, On road 4WD is amazing, comfortable interior, Mitsi has previously proved reliability and personal opinion looks far better than a Dmax and Hilux
@@DnosSFS Thank you. Your efforts are much appreciated. I will now continue looking at the Triton. Must say my two Pajero's have been very good cars. It was really just the gadgets that had me wondering. I prefer low tech & get that the world changes.
It's very much the same car as the 2016-20 RG ii Colorado with better finishes, sharper lines, a few more screens and buttons and reach adjustment. Does it even have the electric steering like the Coloraodo got out of the VF commodore? Probably not.
I’m 15,000 kms into owning my first Isuzu dmax lsu tray dual cab after 4 ford rangers 2 wildtrak an xlt and a 2918 ranger raptor (magnificent car) I woujd have too say for 63,000 drive away it’s a great car much better to drive than the hilux and a far more sturdy feeling towing car with 3.0ton boat behind,if I could’ve afforded another raptor id have gone that way again but as I say for $63,000 compared to $80,000 ish for an xlt or 90,000 for a wildtrak it’s a very honest alternative
Has been fixed, also if your car is still under warranty they also replace your tires from the issue. They strick on aftermarket mods so any minor aftermarket parts then you're screwed if you bought it before this issue
Every comment about this Ute is OK for a Ute, which means, noise, ride, handling, fuel economy, comfort are co,promised by modern car standards, but hey it looks tough for a “perceived” lifestyle that this brings people when they visit macca’s or the local shopping centre in their 67k truck.
I went from a V6 Amarok (tuned 240kw) to a Dmax, no regrets at all, for $3k you can get your Dmax tuned safely, that little 4j is one of the most reliable diesels on the market
Isuzu for long term reliability (truck engine). Ford for fun and performance, I'd recommend having a mechanic friend or be a mechanic yourself - there will be potentially more expensive maintenance compared to the Isuzu
@@dledman i am a mechanic trainee, got my national certification already. yes i agree that isuzu is a much better choice in terms of maintenance and longevity. i wouldnt mind the ford since its still an awesome car to ride.

But it has the bump steer. I will buy one if they fix this problem.
Can the usb c ports be use in the older models ? Are they transferable

Hey, the Dmax got electric steering back in 2020
My 2014 VF SV6 Ute has more options and its 10yo.... its sad as id update it in a flash if they were still made...

Class action now underway for the bump steer issue. Register at Chamberlains Law Sydney.

@@__PJ__ Nope. Isuzu couldn't give a shit.

Yep

Your mum!
Needs way more go, nm and kw
Good review. You did forget to mention the V6 Amarok. 🙂
Don’t compare 6 with 4 cyclinder s bro
if it was v6 as an option they would be worth looking at

Pretty sporty for an Isuzu D-MAX
Pretty sure you said ute, pretty sure you meant flog-mobile.
A ute has two doors.
I ordered mine a year ago and still don’t have it. I’m a bit torn about getting the new one. I think it looks kind of shit 🤦🏼♂️
are the wait times still that bad?
Ordered my 2023
X Terrain in June, received confirm build in August and picked it up late November, so no wait times are not that bad anymore.
Get the newer one... never an argument.
I'm talking to Isuzu tomorrow about this car...
Toyota re-sell value is second to none.
Isuzu hasn't done enough on the looks and that matters to buyers
This guy actually pronounced Isuzu correctly..
Still can’t touch the new Triton MV with 10 years warranty
Nice and good Dmax
ISUZU OR FORD RANGER?
Isuzu for long term reliability (truck engine).

6 year/150k warranty shows they don't have confidence in their product.
Just to Correct, it does not have wireless charging,
added extra
I have a late 2022. Been very disappointed. Very underperforming. The least power and torque on the market. Isuzu is always behind the competition.
3.0 liter?
What model ?
Rather push a Holden Isuzu Piazza turbo premium petrol than drive an Isuzu D-MAX turbo diesel guzzler.
This guy calls Isuzu an eye-zoo-zoo.
Meaning what exactly?
How's it supposed to be pronounced Miyagi Son ?
@@__PJ__ I(eye) SUU ZUU. Thats how we say it in South Africa. We also dont call them Utes but bakkiess.

70k seems overpriced concidering its just a ute with very little features & confort.
Not when everything else is getting closer to 100k
Very little features and comfort??, what the?, I must of watched a different video
Wish you could stop saying "Izusu"
