Isuzu D-Max 2024 review: Major facelift for new Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger rival tested

- The 2024 Isuzu D-Max has been given a major facelift, with the popular ute getting a fresh new look inside and out. The update is timely as the new-generation Ford Ranger is, uh, newer, while the next-generation Toyota HiLux is expected to arrive in Australia sometime next year.
So, what's changed specifically? Well, the front fascia has been overhauled with a bolder design, the alloy wheel designs have been refreshed and the rear end has been treated to tweaked tail-lights and a reshaped tailgate. Inside, the touchscreen multimedia system has added a couple of physical knobs, while the instrument cluster has grown in size.
In this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Andrew Chesterton gets behind the wheel of the facelifted D-Max at its local media launch to find out if Isuzu has done enough to keep its challenger fresh against increasingly stiffer competition.

Notable that it doesn’t have surround view cameras. This is present on the Thai and overseas models. They either held it back to keep costs down, or are holding it back for next years refresh, or both.
It also includes recording for all cameras so no dash cam needed. A pretty important feature in developing countries but would be useful to have here
That's why I won't buy it.. I want to keep "an eye" on my staff driving.😊
Class action now underway for bump steer. Register at Chamberlains Law Sydney.
Lovely colour
Still has the uneven premature front tyre wear and tear due to the front knuckle suspension?
Looks good
Hope they fix the bump steer issues
I wonder does some of this updates carry over to the Mazda BT-50? 🤔
Fore one thing your arm should not rest on the window sill while driving anyway!!
Has the bump steer been fixed ?
I dont think it has. Initially Isuzu said it had then said any affected customers can take it in for new tyres after assessment
So if I replace tyres to MT or AT theyll replace them for free as well
People act like oh can control he volume from us steering wheel
Too expensive 😞
