I fully believe that rebirth ends at north crater when Cloud gives the materia to Sephy. so final boss is probably after Cloud gives it to Sephy he phases the party and you fight against a "mindcontrolled" Cloud. THAT'S how you upstage the spectacle of remake - the environment is a crumbling crystal cave with a crystal sephiroth absorbing the black materia. AND since Cloud is mandatory party member at all times up until then you're going to control therest of the party against him?! THAT'S DRAMA! it would also give us a final shot of Barret opening the blinds and the camera panning up to show meteor as the party is being held by SHinra. IF they're not going to do that then they will end the game at Nibelheim and give us new content as the finale and the whirlwind maze scene where Cloud turns is instead played out in Nibelheim once you get there.
I’m still in shock about how good this game looks, as well as there being TWO DISCS??? But what still makes me laugh is seeing Optimus on the screen when the trailer starts 😂 SO MUCH HYPE AND EXCITEMENT 🔥🎊🎉
I'm so insanely hyped for this. I knew I was invested since the OG days but each trailer that has come out since the first has made me emotional. I wasn't expecting it to still happen but this one hit me the moment each fresh addition to the story has shown up. And omg am I anxious to see how they handle the Nibelheim story. The fact that Tifa spoke with Aerith about it really tells the trust the two already share and I love it.
And we thought 4 discs was big for the Original FF7! I only sampled the game from a friend, but that music and the pre-rendered game areas were my favorite!
Now that we know the game for sure goes to the snowy canyon parts. I really hope they show combat trailers for Cid Highwind, Vincent Valentine, and Cait Sith.
I think i JUST got the Idea where Sephiroth says that Line „they say she is a Monster… that she can become those you Hate… those you Fear… those you Love…“. Maybe i am wrong here but i feel like he says this in the Shinra Manshion just before he gets mad and turns the Town into a Nightmare. Would make Sense to tell Cloud this Info there at least. We already know it from Red in the first Place we fight her so… Its just a Reminder. At least that my Theory.
I'm actually kind of hoping for a lot of sequences where you are forced to use a specific party like we had in Remake (or maybe you split the party up at times) because being able to choose just 3 characters to use is going to be a huge struggle even before Vincent lol
There is some indication we will be able to swap out mid battle. You can see Tifa and Areith standing in the background ready to fight but not in the party during the bit showing off Red's combat.
I will guess that the final boss of FFVII: Rebirth will be WEAPON itself. All of WEAPON as they are emerging. Wild over the top speculation though. Cloud. Yes, Cloud as the final boss. Now let me set this up. Remember during the last fight with Sephiroth in Remake? The one at the edge of Creation. After knocking Cloud's sword away (yes, I'm saying this way because it depends on which one is equipped), he leans in close and says "Seven seconds till the end. Time enough for you. Perhaps. But what will you do with it? Let's see." There are two points where "seven seconds" lead to an end. One is at the very end of FVII OG. A bright flash happens when the Lifestream confronts Holy to destroy Meteor. Starting with Barret, the seven non-optional playable characters are shown in series with the break up of Meteor, ending with Aeris (I'm being purposeful with my spelling here, you'll see why) in the same framing at the very beginning of the first FMV of the game. That part of the scene takes 7 seconds. However, the seven seconds I'm focused on are the seven seconds it takes Sephiroth to fall in the City of the Ancients. "Careful now. What lies ahead does not exist." These are the words Sephiroth spoke when Cloud reached the Edge of Creation. It is clear now that the Remake trilogy with not be just a prettying up and retelling of OG Final Fantasy VII. Things have already changed, and certain characters are noticeably different. Namely Aerith (see note above) and Sephiroth. Both know a LOT more, and key to that is that this trilogy is in fact a sequel... To Advent Children. Yes, this has been speculated on before by others, and I buy into it. Especially after reading the Black and White chapters of On the Way to a Smile. Both now seem to have advanced knowledge of what's to come. In fact, it almost disturbs Aerith at the very end of FFVII: Remake when she realizes she doesn't know what comes next. Sephiroth, however, seems to revel in it. He has a new opportunity to preserve his future. And he will use it in those seven seconds. He's going to run Cloud through with Masamune and carry him off while Aerith, and company are left to fight Jenova Life. By the way, can we all appreciate how insane Jenova Birth looks? Can't wait for that. "But Aerith needs to die to stop Sephiroth!" Yeah, I know. Holy can only be summoned by great sacrifice and within the Lifestream itself. That was the implication of the Ancient machine's vision. Sephiroth also knows that because he's already been defeated once by that method. He wants to control Cloud and he kind of accomplishes that with one sword. What happens from there is Aerith is the lead character heading into the Northern Crater. Things progress "normally" until Cloud returns looking for the Black Materia. We'll get some kind of narrative about how he's there yadda yadda. Long story short, he gets the materia, gives it to Sephiroth just like in OG FFVII and then all hell breaks loose. Final Boss time. Either you have to contend with the mother of all Final Fantasy kaiju, you have to fight a Jenova boosted Cloud (perhaps a twist on Jenova Death?), or a combination of the two much like the final boss battles in Remake. Oh, and for extra craziness, Zack will be there as a party member. However, that is a theory for another post.
That's my EXACT REACTION when I saw Sephiroth at the end of the trailer, lol. Forget the other characters. All I wanted to see was Sephiroth and I DID scream when he showed up! No telling what he's going to do and I'm excited to find out just what he's going to do!
