    The reason that bolt won't come out I'll bet is because it hasn't been greased ,I always grease the bolts and gasket on mine because I check and clean it every 6 months, thanks for sharing going to check spark plug gapes

    Appreciate you sharing. I replaced the plugs on my 60 hp and couldn’t find a feeler gauge so I just put the new plugs in assuming the gaps would be close. Judging by your plugs I need to take mine back out and gap them properly. New subscriber. 😊

      Good idea, standard spark plugs should always be checked prior to install. Just not platinum or iridium

    Great video thanks, if I may ask a question about my mercury. I have a 2003 mercury efi 50hp outboard. I just bought it and don't know the history, I noticed oil coming out of the water inlet. Any idea what it might be? Also do you have a video addressing this? Thanks Mike

    Ive got the most odd problem with this engine where im having issues with bogging and it running weird .. ive. Did a full service new spark plugs low pressure fuel pump high pressure pump regulator cleaned out vst new fuel line new filters water pump everything... The only thing i can think it might be is the IAC valve becuase ive seen other simular problems with similar synptoms.. but nothing has worked yet

      @adhdgaming2377 the IAC will cause low speed issues not engine logging.
      If it's surging/bogging I would try running it with a fuel pressure gauge to see if it holds constant fuel pressure in the range it should.

    First off, great video. I really appreciate you taking the time to post. On your iPad, what book or app or program were you looking at that illustrates the parts break down? Where can I find this? Thank you sir.

      @dreamfly555 I always get a service manual for the torque specs.

    I’ve got a 2008 mercury 60 4 stroke I put new spark plugs in mine e but didn’t use a torque wrench I did 1/2 a turn after finger tightening spark plug is that ok ?

    • @tedsmarinerepair8956
      @tedsmarinerepair8956  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not the recommended method. The reason spark plug torque is so important is 1) The threads are not damaged due to overtightening 2) If the torque is low, the heat transfer from the spark plug to the cylinder head may be insufficient which can lead to spark plug pre-ignition.

    I just purchased a 1996 monark bass boat with a 9.9hp two stroke. I watched your video on "no spark" on a 15hp and believe the switch box is the issue. Question, does the 96, 9.9 have annodes?

      Yes under the cavitation plate part # 42121A2

    Can you use "de-ox" on the annode bolts to keep them from corroding? We use it on electrical connections in pannels.

    • @tedsmarinerepair8956
      @tedsmarinerepair8956  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am sure it would work on "dry bolts" with no water nearby, I would not use it underwater or where salt water might come in contact with it being its for electrical terminals.

    Do you just punch a small hole through the top of the oil filter to drain it
