    In this video I talk about Shane Dawson's silly theory videos! (not a big fan of them) and how misleading they are. Shane Dawson is known for his documentaries, his make up palate and his lovely friendship with Jeffree Star, so yeah this is essentially the end of this description. I guess I could also mention that he made a bunch of movies (not cool, smiley and internet famous) he also made like 2 books at some point which is pretty impressive. He's done a lot I guess, gotta give him credit for that you know. His actual name is not even Shane Dawson apparently, it's Shane Lee Yaw, sounds a bit like Shane YEEHAW haha, anyways what are you up to? If you actually read this description let me know, I've put a lot of time and love into it and I really hope that gets appreciated, I've just finished a lovely trip to madeira with my friend Fraser iNabber, so this video is probably gonna be uploaded when we're on our way back home, it's nice that youtube has this scheduling feature I guess huh, Anyways see you later, enjoy the video, you should watch the last one as well it's more serious but I agree with a lot of my own points in that.

    "are musicians hiding messages in their songs?"
    Isn't that, like the point of art? To get across messages and personal views and opinions in a subtle manner? And to allow those messages to be interpreted by the individual listener? Also, coding is a thing that exists in art (not the computer nerd shit). It's all just a bunch of gobbledygook.

      Yeah but the whole "backwards messages" thing was complete bullshit. It was part of the "satanic panic" of the early 80s. It was just a bunch of crazy evangelical christians claiming that musicians where trying to secretly influence people to worship satan. Any discernible words you can pick out if you reverse a recording are completely coincidental.
      And even if it was true, the idea that simply hearing a backwards message will drastically change your behaviour or beliefs is utterly ridiculous.

      I mean, who needs another delve into it all, it's been done to death already. Do you think Pinely would have 6 videos on Shane Dawson if there hadn't been drama to begin with? Creators still get views by putting "Shane Dawson" in their video title, and using the power of hindsight to judge him. Which is fair enough, but don't pretend like these videos aren't directly influenced by the drama, there's profit to be made.

    the way the subliminals are supposed to work is it’s supposed to tap into your subconscious mind and play these affirmations to make your brain believe that it’s true. The brain takes this as a task that needs to be done and reforms your DNA. Atleast that’s what they claim

    • @rai1578
      @rai1578 3 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      The problem is, your brain can't really reform your DNA based on affirmations like that. DNA, genes, and phenotypes (or the expression of genes that we can see, like hair color) are a LOT more complicated than that. There is some truth to the idea of subliminals, but they really only work for psychological things.
      The more often you hear something, the more you believe it's true. But when you have things like depression and self esteem issues, your brain often wants to deny positive thoughts and refute them with negative ones. So some people like to use subliminal affirmations so that their brain is hearing the positive thought more often without necessarily having the chance to counter with a negative thought.
      I personally haven't found them as effective as other methods I learned in therapy, but they can really help some people. Still, a lot of people misunderstand how the idea of subliminal affirmations work and don't really understand gene expression, and some people are willing to take advantage of that misunderstanding for their own gain.

    Using 100% of your brain is what medical professionals like to call a "seizure", you only use as much of your brain as you need, if your brain is working correctly you'll actually start using less of it to do the same things because it just makes more efficient interconnections, but since half of your brain is biochemical you wouldn't want to use more of it since you'd just deplete your neurotransmitters.
    But the subliminal messages stuff is legit, well to be precise subliminal messages can only change the colour of your hair, but you have to listen to them during a full moon with mayonnaise in one hand and mustard in the other, but it only works with humans born on the 31st of September, which coincidentally is my birthday and now my hair is pink.

    I hope (if you do make some more of these videos) that you get to touch on Shane's kpop theories and how that basically kickstarted all the misunderstandings and misinformation around the entire industry on social medias such as twt and yt, how he (and a few other big names) literally brought up a generation of paranoic kids who point at kpop (or any other non western act, or artist) as an "other" and criticize it for things happening in the western industry as well, just because they're asian and "different" and already treated by media as novelty.
    I've been waiting for a while for someone to point his theories out, some are dumb and blatantly paranoia p*rn, while others gave birth to beliefs and "opinions" on the internet that still hurt real people to this day.
    Got into a Twitter altercation with a xenophobe, asked why he was so convinced bts (a south korean group) were "robotic" and "inorganic" and all other very not nice stuff, got sent a link to a shane theory video as if that's an actual document, then that same kid pretended to know more than me, someone who has been following this industry for over nine years (even i, tend to stay put and not speak on it out of worry to say something untrue, yet kids like him feel empowered enough to spew unchecked stuff) It baffles me how such shitty theory videos become fuel for young people searching excuses for their behavior, and its scary how people take all this crap as actual fact and run with it.

      yeah except the kpop industry is actually manipulative and inorganic and robotic and abusive and controlling. US pop culture also being those things doesn’t mean Kpop is innocent. It’s full of unethical contracts, ghost writers/singers, eating disorders+restrictive diets+drugs, plastic surgery ect and it throws its performers and employees away like nothing. maybe people hyperfocus on it but its not unwarented.

    I think the eye color changing thing has SLME truth to it. does it ACTUALLY change your eye color? Of course but I think what they’re trying to say is once a person has that kind of mindset they almost become delusional and think their eye coloring etc. they just start seeing thing rather it actually changing idk if that makes any sense

    as somebody who’s been in the sub community for a couple years now it does work obviously your not gonna get a different eye color over night but they do work if you believe. and it’s a really nice and sweet community so if you don’t believe just move on with your day don’t go out of your way to harsh the community

    • @ks5865
      @ks5865 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah one thing that makes me believe in it at least to some degree is the fact that the placebo effect exists. It's like if we are powerful enough to make things happen if we believe they are happening then why wouldn't subliminals work? And these people probably just listen to the video a few times while thinking it probably won't work and not drinking enough water for it and living pretty unhealthily and then go "yep it does nothing".
