- This is how you buy a ticket in The Netherlands.
Step 1: Search a ticket machine :-p
Step 2: (If you don't understand Dutch) Choose English
Step 3: Choose what sort of ticket you want
Step 4: Choose your destination
(Step 4.5): If neccessary, choose start station. Only neccessary if you buy the ticket on another station than where you want to depart.
Step 5: Choose travel class.
Step 6: Pay by VISA, Creditcard (+ €0,50) or coins
Step 7: Grab your ticket fron beneith and check in! - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Travel note: please carry coins if you know you must take a train, as a backup for credit cards. All 3 of ours didn't work at the ticket machine yet they worked everywhere else in the city of Breda
I will go to Koog Zaandijk - Zaanse Schans - Zaandam Kogerveld - Purmerend from Amsterdam in June.
If I can not buy a NS ticket in Zaandam Kogerveld, I think to buy a Ticket in Amsterdam Central Station.
I've found that can do it in your video.
I was impressed.
It was helpful really.
Thanks you.

山岡雅彦 Happy to hear I've helped you! You can buy your NS Ticket at railroad station Zaandam Kogerveld too. It is an NS-station, so they have NS ticket machines there.
山岡雅彦 Valuable advice, thank you very much.
I got an OV chipkaart, made traveling in the Netherlands so much easier
Nathan Leak can you tell me it's features?
@@abdolzamil9061 its fearures are:
It supports PAYG
It expires after 5 years since you buy it
It can be used on public transport in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag and train operators (idk exactly which)
Can not with coins. Strange !
Hi, and thank you for that video, much appreciated.
I will soon fly to the wonderful Netherlands, to the airport of Amsterdam, and from their I have to travel further to Assen with the train.
It's such a pity because Groningen would be very near to Assen. And would also have a little airport, but I would have to fly over Germany with a stay in Munster (DE), which would be too cumbersome and too expensive.
Theirfore I will travel from the airport first to the Amsterdam Central Station, and then from their to Assen.
I hope to fast find such a ticket machine, so that I could fast travel further to Assen.
By the way, do you know maybe, how long I will travel from the airport to Central Station?
And take this ticket machines only coins, and not banknotes?
And what's with return money, if I may ask? Whether I will pay with coins or with a banknote?
Ok, and now still A Happy New year for you ✨💫🌈🌎🌻.
And thank you so so much in advance. 🙏🏼👍🏼😉
Hi Metzolino! The ride from airport to Central Station takes 15 to 20 minutes by train. The machines only takes coins or debit/creditcards. You can pay by notes at the Tickets & Service post if you like. The machine will return your money in coins.
Happy new year for you too!
This is crazy.
The big problem I found, the machine wouldn't accept my VISA card because I do not have a Dutch bank account. Paying with coins is a pain, who carries 28 Euros in coins with them?
Andrea Hammond That's weird. It has to work by VISA, even if it's a foreign account. Did the creditcard work?
TrainsofHolland Yes it worked everywhere other than on NS. Even in the travel centre at Nijmegen I had to top up my anonymous chipcard with cash! The lady said it was because my bank account is not a Dutch one.
Andrea Hammond I'm sorry that I can't tell you more about this, but it's weird that your card didn't work...
TrainsofHolland: there is a difference between a plain credit card or credit card with PIN: the last can only be used on Dutch ticket-machines, as the machine can't take physical details on the card to verify you are the owner of that card, thus requiring a PIN-code. If you have a plain credit card (without a PIN-number) you can not use it on a trainticket machine in the Netherlands (and probably nowhere in Europe)
I wont buy ticket than.28e coins lol never
Dit weet ik al -_-
