This will be perfect for my humanized monokuma cosplay! Since I don't really have too much to spend on cosplays now that I've ordered what was really needed, but now I can! ^^ If i get leftover time ^^'
Ah thank you!! I've been trying to make a monokuma hammer for my friend because we're going to a con but I could never figure out how to make one so this is super helpful!! So again, thank you very much!
this’ll be great for monokuma cosplay! thank you for this! I don’t have a lot of money for cosplay, so this is great for me and probably a lot of others! I appreciate it!
I just made a version of this for my upcoming haunted house. I used rolled up cardboard for the handle instead of PVC pipe and it worked out great! Thank you for a wonderful tutorial. Be well!
this is so genius!! 9 years later and it’s still so helpful for anyone that cosplays with a hammer - like ice climbers, poppy from league of legends, and more
I started to make this hammer for the up-coming convention this Oct. I'm about half way finished with this project, and I think it's turning out great. Thanks for all of the help!
Thank you so, so much for this tutorial! It looks super easy to follow (a must-have since I have absolutely NO experience with prop making, let alone on such a large scale!) and made from easily accessible items (what can I say, I'm a cardboard hoarder :D). Thanks again, and congratulations on your finished product(s) by the way - they look amazing! (Sorry for such a long ramble-y comment, but I just had to give my thanks :3)
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! :) I've been wanting to make her hammer for a while now but I thought it would be costly and very hard to do. I'm glad my bordness caused me to look it up on youtube and landed me to your video, because I ended up have most of the materials to go ahead and start it. I just need to get a stick :)
I'm honestly so glad I found this, I'll be using this tutorial with a little modification to make Saiko Yonebayashi's quinque from tokyo ghoul Thank you for making this video it will help me a lot!
I found your tutorial and finally started my hammer. Your tutorial was easy to follow and so far my hammer is looking great. After I got it all taped together I realized it was much bigger than I anticipated. Go big or go home, I guess.
I know quite a few people already said this BUT i'm *planning* to make it into a Monokuma hammer for my halloween costume (that is if I stick with it) but hey, im going to try
+Grace Gillard I believe it was 3/4th inch. The awesome thing is you can customize it to any size if that is too small. Anything smaller might get flimsy so test how bendable it seems before you buy.
im cosplay nora valkyrie soon and making her watermelon "hammer" from vol 2 ep 1, and this tutorial was so useful for the base shape (im on a budget), thank you!!
Awesome video! I'm looking at going a gender bent Harley Quinn for my first cosplay. I was thinking that I could make the hammer out of an old water jug. Do you think that would work?
Omg thx so much I'm doing a monokuma punishment hammer but all the vids I've seen are either square or really expensive and have a long process. But after seeing this vid I feel really confident to make mine by using this tutorial!
If when you bend the card board bend it in the opsite way to the way which is easier to bend it is harder to bend it into a cylinder but dose mean it is stronger
im gonna be Harley quinn for Halloween this year and I'm gonna make her hammer... but I'm 5.4 how long should I make the pvc pipe?? I feel 5 ft is to big
A 24 inch box when rolled up would only create a hammer with ~8 inches in diameter. It might be a bit small. If you wanted, you can always tape some boxes together to be able to roll it into a larger hammer head. Don't worry about the tape showing because when you decorate it, no one will know!
So my friend and I are doing a Monomi and Monokuma human cosplay, (I'm monomi) so he said we should make cool hammers and this is a great tutorial! One problem, I don't have any PVC pipe so what else could I use?
I personally for my Harley hammer got an empty paint can and a rake handle put them together then put silicone to make sure it was sealed (I already nailed it in) then I primed it which took a couple coats and the spray painted it with black which also took a couple coats and then put red duck tape on it for the designs it’s better quality and doesn’t cost much not hating on this video at all cause if you’re going to a party or something or your not gonna be swinging it around a lot this would be great
I had a small question: instead of duck tape, would hot glue still work?? Also, great tutorial!! Im planning to use it for my junko enoshima cosplay ^^!!
thanks fot making this but im not being harley i made my own character and her weapon is supposed to be a sythe but i thought it would be hard so hammer it is
Hai So I'm around 5 foot 9 and I was wondering whether or not I should keep the mallet the same size as you showed us or if I should cut it longer? If I should cut it longer how long do you suggest?
It’s just PVC tube (like for water sprinklers). You can pick some up at any home improvement store in the plumbing section. A broom handle will work well too
idk i just wanna make a kokichi inspired hammer HSDKFDW thanku for this is was super easy to follow for my small little neurodivergent, kokichi obsessed brain
I can't see why it wouldn't work. You really have a lot of freedom to mix and match different materials depending what you have laying around. Another option would be a long wooden rod (like a flag holder or something) if you didn't want to use something made of plastic.
Jenna A I stopped by at Walmart and I saw a they had large thick wooden sticks for sale around 4 dollars or so. they work well and won't break easily .
PVC pipe is pretty cheap. It would cost, at most, just a couple of bucks at your local hardware store. They will have all sorts of sizes to choose from if you want to customize the hammer.
Mandlize Thank you. and i was wondering can i switch out the fomies for a different type of fabric? What other fabric would you recommend? I was unable to find it.
I think you might be able to use paints for the big parts and then do the details with foam from smaller pieces. You should be able to find foam sheets the size of printer paper
This will be perfect for my humanized monokuma cosplay! Since I don't really have too much to spend on cosplays now that I've ordered what was really needed, but now I can! ^^ If i get leftover time ^^'
Unigore yes ‘e too

this’ll be great for monokuma cosplay! thank you for this!
Be well!
I was making a hammer for my monokuma cosplay works perfectly
this is so genius!! 9 years later and it’s still so helpful for anyone that cosplays with a hammer - like ice climbers, poppy from league of legends, and more

Thanks! I am really glad you liked it! I really appreciate the feedback because my overall goal was trying to help people out with the project. :)
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! :) I've been wanting to make her hammer for a while now but I thought it would be costly and very hard to do. I'm glad my bordness caused me to look it up on youtube and landed me to your video, because I ended up have most of the materials to go ahead and start it. I just need to get a stick :)
you can use broomsticks, flagpoles, i used a stick from my backyard and shaped it for my first attempt
Thank you so much for this! I have been struggling to get these kind of hammers for my clown cosplay for Halloween. Thank you so much again!
Omg thank you for this! I have been looking for a hammer tutorial for MONTHS! This will be perfect for my monokuma cosplay!

I know quite a few people already said this BUT i'm *planning* to make it into a Monokuma hammer for my halloween costume (that is if I stick with it) but hey, im going to try
Hi, I'm a little late but whats the thickness of the PVC pipe? Thanks!
+Grace Gillard I believe it was 3/4th inch. The awesome thing is you can customize it to any size if that is too small. Anything smaller might get flimsy so test how bendable it seems before you buy.
Good cuz I need to knock someone out
hahahahahahahahahahahah hahahahahahahahahshshsha me
im cosplay nora valkyrie soon and making her watermelon "hammer" from vol 2 ep 1, and this tutorial was so useful for the base shape (im on a budget), thank you!!
this’ll be perfect for my junko cosplay!
That tape cutting was the most genius thing I've ever seen
Who cares about the lightbulb
That tape technique
using this for my monomi cosplay ✌️
Imk if y’all wanna see it when i’m done
Sadly, I dont have any pcp pipe so I used whatever I could find ;;
bro its the man behind the slaughter
For me I used a old broom handle
Awesome video! I'm looking at going a gender bent Harley Quinn for my first cosplay. I was thinking that I could make the hammer out of an old water jug. Do you think that would work?
That sounds great! If you can get the overall shape right, a water jug would perfect! That would be a giant lightweight hammer head.
Omg thx so much I'm doing a monokuma punishment hammer but all the vids I've seen are either square or really expensive and have a long process. But after seeing this vid I feel really confident to make mine by using this tutorial!
Watching this for inspiration when I fully decide to cosplay as Saiko since she has a huge hammer
Ima use this for Monokuma! Thank you!
this tutorial just save my cosplaye's life, and my wallet! thank you so much!
Great video. I'll be making this for an upcoming con. Thank you.
If when you bend the card board bend it in the opsite way to the way which is easier to bend it is harder to bend it into a cylinder but dose mean it is stronger
I need one for my Celeste cosplay yessss
This js amazing for my monokuma cosplay!
im gonna be Harley quinn for Halloween this year and I'm gonna make her hammer... but I'm 5.4 how long should I make the pvc pipe?? I feel 5 ft is to big
Try making it 4 feet long. If it's still too long for you, you can always cut a little off the end. I hope it turns out well!
+Mandlize definitely will try that.. and the box I have is like 24 inches long it'd from my work place.. will it be okay?
A 24 inch box when rolled up would only create a hammer with ~8 inches in diameter. It might be a bit small. If you wanted, you can always tape some boxes together to be able to roll it into a larger hammer head. Don't worry about the tape showing because when you decorate it, no one will know!
+Mandlize okay Thanks alot. I'm hoping it turns out
Think of it like a bowstaff. It should be your length plus an inch or two if you’re aiming for accuracy
Thank you so much! I wanted to do a monokuma cosplay, its great!
So my friend and I are doing a Monomi and Monokuma human cosplay, (I'm monomi) so he said we should make cool hammers and this is a great tutorial! One problem, I don't have any PVC pipe so what else could I use?
this is so helpful for my junko cosplay I really need it befor I go to my next con
Prefect for my laughing jack cosplay, he doesn’t have a hammer but I wanted to add my own thing to the cosplay but thank you for the tutorial!!
I personally for my Harley hammer got an empty paint can and a rake handle put them together then put silicone to make sure it was sealed (I already nailed it in) then I primed it which took a couple coats and the spray painted it with black which also took a couple coats and then put red duck tape on it for the designs it’s better quality and doesn’t cost much not hating on this video at all cause if you’re going to a party or something or your not gonna be swinging it around a lot this would be great
Hello im really late but; i only have an amazon box and it wont let me roll it, any tips?
thank you sm for the video! it really helped me out for my cosplay!!😸👍
Awesome tutorial bro :) x
Thanks for helping me figure out how to actually make the hammer :) xx
Hi I really like this craft/prop can u make a mini version of this plz? Thx!
Eevee The pokemon it's very easy to make one . do it the same way but shorten down the measurements. Also use a small "pipe" or holder to your liking.
Omg thank you so much im recreating Miu's electrohammer and couldnt find something suitable
this was a HUGE help. i've been wanting to make one for my bf for his harley cosplay so this video was a big help (:
Sorry what are the measurements for the cardboard?
Will the stick of a broomstick from dollar tree or family dollar work?
This was so helpful!! Thank you!!!
I needed one for junko! This was helpful ;w; i had no idea what i was doing
I'm just wondering is there a reason you didn't just use the tube you had? Could you not find one big enough or is it too heavy? Thanks!
Nice video! Also cool wig where'd you get it?
Some crazy person got it for me I think!
Thank you so much I’m doing a monakuma cosplay and I used this and it was very easy so tysm
how sturdy is this design? I'm trying to make one for my cosplay but I want it to last for multiple cons
This will be perfect for my junko cosplay! But I do have a question what can you use if you don’t have the pipe :)
I had a small question: instead of duck tape, would hot glue still work?? Also, great tutorial!! Im planning to use it for my junko enoshima cosplay ^^!!
Thx now I can cosplay as junko
Question ( I know I’m late lol)
But for the part when you roll the cardboard is there any alternatives? Or any suggestions on what to use for a tube
Can I use a wooden dowel as an option?
Planning to use this to make a hammer for my Mario cosplay. Thank you!
thanks fot making this but im not being harley i made my own character and her weapon is supposed to be a sythe but i thought it would be hard so hammer it is
Can you use like the hard foam instead of cardboard?
I'll have to try this method for my next hammer. I'd like a variety!
Just made this!!! I'm so proud thank you so much!!!
Thank you :) It is perfect for my monokuma cosplay ❤️
Thank you, you solved how i will do this cosplay
I'm gonna try and do this for a human monokuma cosplay. Thank you
Thank you! I now know how to make a hammer for my junko cosplay
Hai
So I'm around 5 foot 9 and I was wondering whether or not I should keep the mallet the same size as you showed us or if I should cut it longer? If I should cut it longer how long do you suggest?
How big of the PVC pipe that you used
I know this was 6 years ago but where did u find the Pole?
It’s just PVC tube (like for water sprinklers). You can pick some up at any home improvement store in the plumbing section. A broom handle will work well too
Me and my BFF are cosplaying so I have to make her Monokuna Mallet and my angel and devil wings
Thank you so much! I’m making a hammer for my junko danganronpa cosplay and I thought it would be cool to have one and this is so helpful!
omg tysm i need to make one for my Celestia cosplay :))
This will be great for My junko cosplay lol
this is amazing i have been looking for a cheap easy way to make a giant hammer u r amazing thank you
idk i just wanna make a kokichi inspired hammer HSDKFDW thanku for this is was super easy to follow for my small little neurodivergent, kokichi obsessed brain
Happy
Halloween from 2019❤️😂
How long and wide is it?
Rury Lozano The hammer head is 18.5 inches long x 9.5 inches (diameter of the hammer face). And the whole thing is about 4 feet tall
I love it! I'm going to use it for my Piko Piko hammer for my Amy Rose cosplay!
will it work with a abs piep
I can't see why it wouldn't work. You really have a lot of freedom to mix and match different materials depending what you have laying around. Another option would be a long wooden rod (like a flag holder or something) if you didn't want to use something made of plastic.
What can I use instead of PVC pipe?
I used one of those cardboard rolls you have when you use all the wrapping paper on it.
You could use a broom handle as well
Jenna A I stopped by at Walmart and I saw a they had large thick wooden sticks for sale around 4 dollars or so. they work well and won't break easily .
Does anyone know if I could use plastic bags(like walmart ones) instead of newspapers?
How much would the pipe coust?
PVC pipe is pretty cheap. It would cost, at most, just a couple of bucks at your local hardware store. They will have all sorts of sizes to choose from if you want to customize the hammer.
I see okay.
What can i use if i don’t have a pipe ? :^
You can use a broom or a mop handle instead, they are usually only a couple bucks to get
What where the measures of the 2nd hammer head at the end of your video?
It was the same size as the first one. I might want to make it bigger in the future though if I ever redo it.
Mandlize Thank you. and i was wondering can i switch out the fomies for a different type of fabric? What other fabric would you recommend? I was unable to find it.
I think you might be able to use paints for the big parts and then do the details with foam from smaller pieces. You should be able to find foam sheets the size of printer paper
i will do it but amy hammer
Thanks for you're diy. This is very helpfull. I made my own size hamer.
nice. but isn't it called a mallet? im not sure.
iviDivi North i call it that
Can you do it step-by-step plss
i’m gonna use this to make a Celestia Justice Hammer (danganronpa) so thank you!!
I’m altering this and making it for my kokichi cosplay
