Not gonna lie, using real wood is hard, but it is the legit way of making it.
ML Productions I think for cosplay it’s better to have light weight props, but that’s my opinion, a lot of people prefer realistic materials as you said. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
@@PattyCosplayer Your right about that, but the mallet from BOP is real. Margot was holding it once and did that little tapping motion where you kinda hold it with one hand and then it falls to the other and it looked kinda heavy. Oh and also, what type of handle should I use since I already have the top ready-

ML Productions this one I did it myself cause there’s no available reference pictures of the original one on internet. However, in the description box there is a link to a video if how they designed the baseball bat and they show the original text and I took it as reference. I hope you find it useful. Are you planning to make one for you?

You can!!! It takes a lot of patience but if you follow the steps you can get a pretty nice mallet. I'm always open to help with ideas if you're stuck
1) how big was the can you used ?
2) where do you think someone could get the proper cylinder w/o food or contents ?
Space Puffin Cosplay Hi! The can was about 5 inches long x 13 in circumference. It’s function is just to fill most of the space inside (+ I love to recycle), any wide and lightweight recipient/plastic pipe could do (I recommend you to search online for pvc pipes pieces or cardboard cilinder/tube, you could also find at crafts stores or hardware stores). You can also only use cardboard and roll it until it reaches the size you desire. This mallet has 16 inches circumference. I hope you find this useful.

What paint colors did you use? Particularly the ones you mixed for the mallet and the others?
I used acrylic paint, I recommend that because it lasts longer and doesn't stain once is dry... for the mallet I mixed white, brown, orange and yellow... make a tiny sample and once you achieve the color make more for the whole mallet

What type of mod podge did you use?
Hi! I recommend you the one with matte finish. If you dont have access to it any kind of glue or sealant that dries transparent and matte works. Good luck!!! 😉

Hi Kaiya. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a reference picture from the original mallet. There is a link in the description for a video when they did the bat and I used it as inspiration for the text.

Nadia Serrano really? Well I have always been used to work with mostly recycled materials, I can tell you some you could replace. Instead of foamy you can use paperboard for example
