@@CrowofYharnamhave you even played the game? it has a linear cinematic main storyline, set in an open world, where the player can choose where they take the action. the side stories are some of the best original content in the game. the world is like a collection of stories and the player gets to actively discover them through their actions. it is an action game, an arpg, so there arent life skills like fishing and cooking. it isnt a dating sim either. i dont know what else you want from an action rpg but you sound like a spoiled baby who's never had to work hard to create something before. you have the imagination of a fish. cp2077 is a technical marvel that got rushed out by greedy suits and investors. cdpr worked hard on the game and continued to work hard fixing it and even went above and beyond with the scale and scope of phantom liberty. millions of gamers are loving their time in cp2077. you not so much. that's your problem. just go back to playing CoD or madden and leave the more sophisticated games to the more intellectually-minded gamers.

Cyberpunk is an lessons in philosophy about our own lives and future and how to spend what time we have left on this earth and that’s the brutal and harsh messaging in cyberpunk genre like this and Blade runner where towards the end you feel sorry for Roy Batty and the poetry that he said about tiers in the rain that was powerful that made him redeemed as an flawed character and that scene I love so much .

I love this game so goddamn much. I already considered it as one of my top 5 games, but it just continues to climb the more I think about it. It has a moment for every single emotion. Bravo on this - I too felt the exact same way playing through the game since day one (granted, on a fairly high end PC). This game has always made me actually, for lack of a better word, feeeeel more than another. CDPR has always been phenomenal at creating missions with little to no combat that wreak of dense, emotional storytelling and CP2077 took this to another level entirely. Phantom Liberty expanded on this even more while patch 2.0 was just the icing on the cake.

Im glad someone made this video. "Cyberpunk is finally fixed" is the most frustrating, repeated commentary title of all time. The game has been a great one in its core from the start and for me atleast was completely beatable and enjoyable its FIRST week on PC. People seemed to ignore the endings and story by latching to the hate train due to its bugs and launch on last gen (which is fair) and only began to give the game a legit chance when the anime suceeded. Its just kinda annoying.

Indeed, this game is the pinnacle of gaming for me. Cyberpunk 2077 is not yet another regular and forgettable story on the market of video games, but something more. It is that which brings joy every time it's booted up. It is that which lets us forget the troubles of our realities. It is that which many hold dear, describing it as the game that brought them out of darkness. Even if one does not share the same excitement and feelings as the aforementioned type of person, one cannot deny the game's potential to bring something meaningful into one's life. I truly loved playing Cyberpunk and still do. Not many companies have the ability to forge such impactful games. But to those that do, such as CD Projekt Red - not only with Cyberpunk 2077, but the Witcher Trilogy too - I salute them for their efforts and hope that they find it within themselves to never cease their aspiration of evolving.

  • @beige_projection
    @beige_projection 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +38

I agree so much with how even before update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty, the game already had so much to offer. Full of great stories and choices that were impactful - Yes, maybe not world shattering, but impactful, because they made you think. A lot of the side quests and gigs and the choices within them remain with me to this day and I've been playing since launch. One example of that is a gig where you're tasked by a cop to retrieve a cctv footage for his investigation. Turns out, that cctv footage is of a murder he committed. The player would be presented with the choices of killing him, taking his bribe, or calling him out on it but not killing him. I chose to call him out on it but didn't kill him because I was a merc for hire after all, not some justice warrior, and I didn't want to disappoint my fixer, which is that cop's friend. Later on in the game, I walk in at a bar and found that cop there. I approached him and he started gloating about his promotion. That's when my choice of not killing him really hit me. Made me think if that fucker really deserved to live. There are many more gigs with impactful choices and moral dilemmas like that. Yes, it's not world shattering, Night City is still Night City, but it makes you think about life, your life, and how you make your choices.
As for Phantom Liberty. After finishing the main quest, side quests, and all the gigs in Dogtown, I thought I was finished with the expansion, but much later on at a random location in Corpo Plaza, I stumbled upon a guy that I helped in one of the gigs in the expansion, and he was grateful but kinda irked that I didn't kill the person that's been harassing him and his buddy. I also received a text messaged from another person from one of the gigs in Dogtown after a few days when I thought I've finished all activities in the expansion.
I've played so many great games. Mass Effect series, The Witcher 1-3, Ghost of Tsushima, Red Dead Redemption 2, etc but I've always thought Cyberpunk 2077 belonged to their tier even right after release on PC version, and now with update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty, it just solidifies it as my favorite game of all time.

This game is full of passionate emotions. The best of the best and worst of the worst, what so many of us deal with daily, with a point that moving forward means so much. There's scenes that blow your mind, make you cry, and remember that art truly makes us feel. This game reminds us that in an unruly and dangerous world, there is life and love. With Misty‘s tarot card reading, Panam’s contacts to help V, and all the other signs pointing towards them being able to find a cure for V is awesome! I hope we get to continue their story together. In my mind, they found the cure for V and they went off and lived a happy life in love, and with all their loved ones. Johnny being reunited with Alt is a fitting send off for him too. I just love these characters so much! I hope for a bright future, and to see them again!

I remember getting this game on release day and picked up a Johnny silver hand figure and guidebook for collection. I played it for a while on Xbox and never ran into a problem but life got in the way and I stopped playing. Idk why but I stopped playing until a couple weeks ago when I saw Phantom Liberty and decided to start over but on my new PS5. It’s literally my type of world and I love it to death. It is my favorite RPG of all time. And to add to this, I just finished the Edgerunners show and visited all of the locations in game and it just makes it so much more special. Cyberpunk will always have a special place in my heart. I’m pretty much at end game and max stats. It’s going to be my first game to get platinum on. That’s just how much fun it is. It’s so rich in story telling and character relationships.it’s very engaging and hard to put down. There is just too much to do lol last game I 100% was Assassins Creed Black Flag. It’s rare to find a game like this that is so addicting. Thank you CD Projekt Red for this, seriously.

I think if patch 2.0 was the launch version of the game, i wouldn't have endeared myself so much to it. My first playthrough was focused on story and characters, so i got to know the world and got a feel for all the players in that world. My next playthrough was playing with different responses, actions, and outcomes. When 1.5 dropped, I had my play style figured out and was full-on in immersion. It is the best single player experience I have ever had. Part of its magic is how often i read about the experiences of others online being ENTIRELY different from my own while being 100% valid. Big props for this dedicated video but I have one small objection: What you call "hate" was (mostly) legitimate criticism, because yes, CP2077 was indeed an absolute mess to begin with. But all the harsh criticism that CDPR received resulted in the developer ultimately reacting and presenting players with a solid result. Unfortunately, the only thing that can help these days is a "major offensive" so that the (gaming) companies no longer ignore their customers.

    • @torphurus

the only "legitimate" criticism cyberpunk, or cdpr, can reasonably get is about why they lied that the game runs well on last gen and weak pcs. theres really nothing else. most things that were "promised" never directly came from them, and those that did, had a good reason why they were scrapped.

I completely and wholeheartedly agree with your intro. I got the buggy mess at release and worked through all the adversity and experienced the most amazing roleplaying experience of my lifetime to date.
I played from childhood and always loved roleplay games of all sorts including some obscure titles (Paranoia and Cthulhu come to mind along with Shadowrun). I am in my 50's now and still love a good RPG more than any other type of gaming. The story the characters and the whole environment of Cyberpunk 2077 took me completely by surprise and I found in it the kind of roleplay experience I had not known since our weekly gatherings for one game or other where we all (six or seven of us due to occasional obligations for us all) really enjoyed the stories and the lives, trials and triumphs of our imaginary selves.
This game singlehandedly brought back the wonder, feelings and pure magical immersion of a new Imaginary self. Thank you CDPR for working through the hard times and bringing childlike joy and the trials and triumphs so sorely missed by me in modern gaming.

Cyberpunk 2077 has the world I fell in love with starting from it's launch, but the constant challenges of it's broken state masked the beauty it definitely posses. Now that all the brokeness has been minimized to it's least along with the arrival of the expansion. it's beauty shines. One thing I feel like CDPR missed though. No official flying vehicles or mechanic. mod is good, but mod is to a point not enough. Still Love the game, been having multiple playthroughs throughout the year.

@@FranklyGaming Definitely lategame where you can acess flying with ease, such as modified personal AV or modified/customized car that flies. But throughout the early to half pats of the game, just limit it's access like only being able to access it on AVs & stations of Flying transportation & they can make the combat around flying vehicles as interesting as Ground vehicular combat.
It'll also be good if they'll make the Crystal Palace available or even just small part of it. Flying vehicle such as Rockets can be viable on getting up there. & I hope it won't be too much to have at least level section, mission, Setpieces that'll set in the Moon colonies if viable. There's just a lot they could expand on this world whilst still setting it on Night City for the second game.
But after Cyberpunk 2077 release, I'll prolly expect less to not get my hopes up. As long as it's more improved, more expansive than the first game, Narrative, Atmosphere & gameplay wise I'll be down for Cberpunk 2.

In my opinion, it makes a lot of sense that the gigs in dogtown do change the world. It's a lawless place. No Corp that can put a stop to things. Just imagine a ripperdock taking over a church in night city. Either a gang or Corp would put a stop to that.

The "hate" was from the false advertising. It is NOT an RPG. It's an action game. The game on its own isn't such an issue, but let's be lucid. CDPR falsely advertised a highly interactive RPG brimming with reactivity and interactivity throughout. I've researched the 2018 reveal a thousand times and it's something we won't get from this game. Maybe CP2 will deliver that RPG dream.

The combination of consistent first person POV and the focus on and quality and fidelity of the character writing is what makes it so special, I think. If it were just wholly in first person, OR if it just had fully believable characters, it wouldn't be as impactful. It has both though, and it leans into its writing and world by really digging into the smaller moments and elements of the interpersonal relationships.
The other characters aren't along for the ride of your story, they're not there for you and you're also not there to do all their shit for them. You're there for each other, and for the little moments together. They feel like friends, not party members or companions.
And at least for me, I never felt like I was playing or viewing or shepherding someone else's story, or just controlling a character. It wasn't about getting invested in the relationship between V and Judy, it was about me and Judy, and I really don't think I'd have felt quite like that if I could see those interactions from the outside in, as it were.

My favorite part about this game is the music. And the music was the reason why this game received so much hate on release. Many people, who only watched walkthroughs on youtube or twitch and didn't play the actual game, were literally watching game without any music, because streamers played in "streamer-mode" where almost all music was muted because of copyright. And so streamers themselves had a bad opinion on the game without realizing how beautiful it actually was.
This issue was lasting for around a month, then it was fixed and "streamer-mode" was removed from the game.

Her personality, growth, and loyalty towards V and her family was just so, well... intriguing. I couldn't help but WANT to help her.
In my playthrough, I ALWAYS romance Panam, and I always choose the Nomad ending. That's my headcannon for V's story. He sets out with Panam and the Aldecaldos to live out the rest of his life with people that care for him. Whether V finds a cure outside Night City or not is unconfirmed, but I'd like to think V either found a cure, or lived longer than expected. All the other endings aren't worth it in my opinion. Granted, I've never actually PLAYED the other endings. I've seen how they turn out on TH-cam, but I, myself, never choose any ending besides the Nomad ending, because that would break MY immersion. Because any other ending besides Nomad, that's not what MY V would do. My V always helps out the Aldecaldos. He ALWAYS helps out Judy. He was determined to help River find his nephew. He helped Kerry out with his issues (admittedly, my least favorite "friend request" gigs). He helped Blue Moon deal with that stalker. And he ALWAYS left NC with Panam and the Aldecaldos.
Because in my eyes, leaving with Panam and the Aldecaldos is the happiest choice. From my experience (and my bias, IDC lmao), V and Panam complete each other. When they first met, both of them were at rock bottom with their lives; V doing anything and everything to live while Panam was lost and alone in Night City. After they both met, V and Panam began to rebuild their lives; V helps Panam reconnect with her family and Panam helps V with Hellman and gives him a new outlook on life; becoming a legend isn't worth losing your life or those around you. They literally pick up each other's pieces and put them back together, and both of them being together is just perfect.
I'm gonna be honest; I got spoiled on the new ending, and I dunno if it's a "me problem" but I became SO FREAKING EMOTIONALLY INVESTED in the game's story, I legit suffered from anxiety for the rest of the day thinking about the outcome and my excitement soured a bit, because of how depressing it was. That's how this game affects me. I calmed myself down by thinking this ending is just a "what if" because my V would never sacrifice anything to save his life, especially his relationship with his friends and with the love of his life. As far I know, V always lives out the rest of his life with the woman he loves and a family that'll back up him forever and ever.
In my eyes, V is the "exception to the rule" of Cyberpunk's world, where Mike said that it wasn't "about saving the world. It's about saving yourself". V is the exception. He saved so many people before he left NC (Judy, River and his family, Kerry, etc. etc.) V did what Johnny, David, and many others couldn't. He managed to walk away and get a "happy ending" despite it all. Johnny said "happy ending? For folks like us? Wrong city, wrong people". Sure, it's not the HAPPIEST ending, but by leaving NC, the city which Johnny said happy endings are impossible, V finally broke the cycle of tragedy by finding happiness in such a dark, bleak, world.

I'm so glad to see this.. I was also one of the few enjoying the game when released and usually got dissed by friends for playing it lol
Sure it had bugs but not even close to others online maybe or on console. I believe most bugs were due to hardware issue I dunno..
This game truly pulled me in. Evelyn's storyline and so many, left me shaken honestly. It felt so, real like you said.
Great video man. Stellar script and philosophical approach.

Great breakdown of the game. I’ve logged over 200 plus hours and have bought the game twice for different systems. I haven’t played a game this much since Skyrim released. I will sometimes just drive around the city. There’s so much to uncover and time to spend in the details and hidden parts of night city and dog town. One of the best games of all time.

I think noone talks about how any ending v uses alt cunningham to survive V is dead. She uses soul killer on you. The ending is an AI designed to be just like V in V's body but the character you were is gone. Just a thought its not your character driving off on the sunset or going to space.

Absolutely beautiful video...your passion for this game is amazing. My only complaint is that now I want to replay Cyberpunk even though I have like 50 other games to play!

This video is the perfect essay on this game. As a fellow day 1er, I completely agree with what you've so eloquently said here. A well-written thesis on a game that truly deserves it.

Honestly, 2077 will allways have a special place in my heart. It released about 9 days before my grandfather died. Its probably the only thing that helped me through that time. Yes i had one or two bugs during launch on my pc but the story, the characters and the music was amazing. i loved the game back then and i love it even more now.

I started playing in July. Patch 1.6 something. Its been the best gaming experience of my life. I fell inlove with the world, the lore, the characters so much I put in 300 hours in a month and a half. It NEVER feels like a fetch quest or chore playing the game. Never fast travel. Read most the shards and never skip dialogue
Fave game of all time for me. Played on PS5 😎 ❤

Man, I have so much to say after playing this game and watching so many great essays from the community.
I'm so happy I played this game during 2.0 because the gameplay is just incredible and is one of the best action RPGs I've ever played. Like you said in this video, I love that CDPR allows us to create these powerful builds that make us feel like gunslingers, ninjas, samurais, bruisers, hackers or any combination of those.
I also think people don't give the world enough credit. Not only is it devastatingly beautiful and immersive, but it is also decently interactive. I've seen the police conduct searches, trauma team conduct rescues, gang fights, and car chases happen.
But I think for so many of us the characters and the main story will forever be special. I love how V and Johnny's relationship grows from this antagonistic one to almost like 2 siblings. I love how the mission variety with Panam, Judy, River, and so many more feel distinct to each of the side characters.
After finishing Cyberpunk and Phantom Liberty, I still jump on to drive around and get in fights. There'll never be a game like this. And, just like many other great stories, finishing this game is such a bittersweet feeling.
Here's hoping Cyberpunk Orion can be everything CDPR and the fan hope it can be.
