    Denise, thank you so much. You literally taught me how to knit and I couldn't thank you enough. Knitting has given me such an outlet and a way to relax, which is really something considering I have severe anxiety, depression, but knitting takes it all away. Thank you for your contribution to a much better life for me through knitting! It sounds cheesy, but it really is true! Your tutorials are the best by far!

    I just saw your video's for the first time and I loved them. I have Parkinson I went to add to the ShoeBox next year children hats, love the 3 colors for children. To my own personal homeless kits I make, I am grateful for telling me not to use bright colors.
    I think I spent tonight just watching all your video thank you so much and God Bless.

      hello, when repeating the mock stitch part for the first time, did you happen to knit the first two pegs like you did to start or wherever the working yarn is you just wrapped 1st,2nd,&3rd peg and knitted off? I hope this question is clear

    I love to crochet but I’m a senior with arthritis that’s affected my left thumb really bad. The pain has caused me to stop doing what I love so I’m here checking out loom instead. Wow that looks really hard and still I see it would include the use of my thumb. I’ll keep looking-hoping THERES an answer on TH-cam somewhere. Thanks for sharing your talent!!

      Hmm... I used most of a medium ball of Charisma for the brim, and a larger ball for the body. I made a folded brim, though, not a single. I never measure by yardage, though, so I can't give a good estimation.

  • @alexandraabraham6698

    Does this work on smaller looms? I have a 36-peg loom, because I actually have a tiny head - 41-peg loom is just too big for me....! Thanks for your wonderful work, Denise - brilliantly easy to follow!
    You know what? Don't worry... I just checked out your column on your website (for this pattern) and I see you answered pretty much the same question from another member.... I really should double-check that before asking a dumb question - and I know your answer to THAT comment too! *LOL!!*

    • @LoomaHat
      @LoomaHat  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      What did you decide on Alexandra ? Because I TRULY believe you should try this with the 41 even if you have a tiny head (at this point - its been a while - I don't know what I have on the website).

    • @alexandraabraham6698
      @alexandraabraham6698 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, Denise, thanks for coming back to me here.... :o) I actually did try it on the 36-peg - but I used e-wrap on the initial brim, because I know the u-stitch is a little tighter, (and the straight-across stitch is tighter still) so I was careful to ensure I loosened the thread so as to eliminate any tightness. You're right, it takes a little longer (I think you advised a fellow fan to loosen the yarn) and the hat is 'snug' but it does fit.... I think you're right though. I think knitting as you did, using the u-stitch, on a 41-peg loom, will also fit.
      Talking of which, do you know a 48-peg loom is totally unavailable in the UK? I can only get it via USA sources, and it costs an absolute bomb! But hey, such is life!

    I am working on a 40 peg loom. I did the 10 rows rib stitch with a mock chain cast on. Should I be going for peg two in the flat stitch since I have an even numbered loom? Or, can I just flat stitch three at a time from one?

    This is a 3 stitch pattern so can I use different sizes of a loom like a 40 3/4 with the old charisma yarn which is bigger than the ones now. Would the holes get bigger which is okay for me. Going to do this pattern again

  • @catherineportland503

    It worked a 40 3/4 loom with charisma yarn made an form fitting hat. I added 3 more rows instead of 12 rows. It's not slouchy but fits an adult head. I used older charisma that was the true #5.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

    I feel like your channel has enough unique patterns that might help me with this problem. My boyfriend & I both have stretched earlobes. Mine are 1” and his are at 2”. He also has dreadlocks. Every time I’ve attempted a headband/ear warmer, it just doesn’t fit on our heads right, or it does but our ears stick out, which is what needs protection the most. Should I just add more rows for the needed extra materials?

    i love your tutorials! you are the best! i do have a question. I got the chunky loom set which comes with two looms one large and one slightly smaller, that the pegs are pretty far apart and the big loom has 20 pegs? does it matter if its an even number of pegs? or do you think that this project will work with this loom too?

    Thank you so much for this video denise! I have learned soooo many things just by watching it! I have one question. Is there anyway to just knot off the end after you tightened the loops of the brim, or do you have to weave the string throughout the stitches? Would not doing that make it looser?

    im new to knitting... how many bundles of yarn did it use and how much did it weigh? i went to hobby lobby and was overwhelmed by the width and weight all the different bundles were... or skiens as I've heard them called before.

    Hi Denise! love your tutorials. I wanted to make a blanket using this stitch. I'm using a round loom to create and wanted to do I continue this stitch when I go the opposite direction or should I alternate rows with a U-Wrap? Hope that makes sense, love this stitch

    • @LoomaHat
      @LoomaHat  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Yvonne Gonzalez Yvonne - if you alternate with a U-wrap you will get a different stitch pattern - it's called a diamond lace: www.loomahat.com/diamond-lace-stitch ... to knit a blanket - you turn and start the stitch again from the beginning - every time you turn around. I believe there is a pattern link for a blanket on the post- click on Tina Edgar on the page: www.loomahat.com/mock-crochet-hat/

    When I get to the end of round 1 for the hat, do I continue with the Mock Crochet stitch or do I start round 2 (and the remaining rounds) as the first round ... with uwrap the first 2 stitches ... then continue with the Mock Crochet stitch? Thank you.

    • @LoomaHat
      @LoomaHat  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dot Smith Hi Dot - I want to make sure I understand your question - when you say round 1 are you asking about the brim or after the brim - because round 1 is a rib stitch not the mock. If your talking about the hat after the brim then you that is row 11 and the first 2 stitches are u-wrap knit stitches - then you start the mock (you will start on the same row). The 2 first stitches are just to get the working yarn positioned in the right spot...on peg 2 ... does that make sense? If my explanation didn't help let me know and I'll try to explain it a different way. - here are some pictures: www.loomahat.com/mock-crochet-hat/

    Question on the knit 1 pure 1 rows. What do you do with the extra peg for an odd number loom?

    • @LoomaHat
      @LoomaHat  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Minda - just do an extra knit or purl. I used a 41 peg loom and I promise you won't even notice.
