      @@VicBarry I Just decided to return the ZV1. There are just too many options and I rather keep shoting with my iPhone where I only have to select the lens and tap where it has to focus. I was intrigues by the better low light quality, but overall I found it to make my workflow harder. There are so many settings and such tiny buttons. Its not for me.

    • @VicBarry
      @VicBarry  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey dude, thanks for the comment. As long as the camera isn't moving in a shot (on a tripod etc) then turn it off because you'll get a slightly wider shot. I know there's 3 settings, similar to off, kinda on and full blown steady shot. To be honest, from a stabilization perspective, full blown steady shot is the only one worthwhile, hence the crop.

      @@VicBarry we are a bunch of rookies with cameras again for our industry. We have mainly used our cell phones and some of us with a gimble. We are still learning it but I (and friends with it) do like the camera. Being portable is great and the mic isn't too bad either. I'm also using small shot gun mic at times and just ordered another new one that can pick up both directions (waiting for it to be available). I am going to go shoot some video I hope maybe today with it and the new to me Zhiyum m2 gimble. I think this might help for what I'm doing. A few points about changing on the NTCS/PAL:
    - I believe it might delete what's on your memory card when switching? can anyone confirm?
    - If you shoot indoors in the wrong setting for your country, you may get flicker in your footage due to the frequency of the AC electrical supply for that country. If you use the correct setting for your country, no flicker. If you're shooting outdoors then it might not matter.
    - Note you probably don't want to mix and match frame rates in the same project, unless done deliberately for effect.

    • @VicBarry
      @VicBarry  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah. The card must be formatted. There’s a warning pops up before you commit to the change. True on the light bulb stuff as well but it’s very much dependent on the type of light bulb. I’ve being shooting NTSC in a PAL region and haven’t had any problems and it won’t matter outdoors.

    • @VicBarry
      @VicBarry  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On the mixing frame rates, quite a number of videos will have multiple clips with different frame rates. 24, 60, 120 or higher. There’s a subtle difference between 24 and 30 which will probably be the main frame rate for most shooters. Best to stick with one but the majority of viewers wouldn’t notice the difference

    @0:45 I didn't understand this. What was the point of reducing video speed by 50% in video editing programs?

    • @VicBarry
      @VicBarry  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Slow mo

    • @kimmossige263
      @kimmossige263 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@VicBarry I have it set to 250 and its slow o when I record already. Didn't quite understand if there are additional things I should do? Could I speed it up again, and then only slowmo a portion of the video?

    • @VicBarry
      @VicBarry  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you’re shooting at 60p (as shown in the video) you can slow it down a little more in editing

    • @VicBarry
      @VicBarry  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also if shooting 120p the clip comes out of the camera at “normal” speed and needs to be slowed down in post

To get some distance get the camera at a diagonal in the room as in towards the corner. From a light perspective get some l small light behind you to give some more depth. Hope this makes sense. I can't begin to express how much i HATE my Sony ZV1. I feel so ripped off. Overheating issues make it useless to shoot 4k- especially in warm climate. The menus are terrible. The battery life is brutal, even the Sony branded batteries are depleted as quickly as the knock off brand. The only thing this does well is fast focus - but it isn't worth it. I'm selling the and going back to Canon.
