      I currently have a zv1 and have been a little on the side lines as I’m hearing the m50 has a bigger sensor, guess my fear is should I go with a canon m50 compared to the Sony zv1; for client portraits or product photography. I just don’t want to give up the video quality the zv1 offers, or is the zv1 more then capable of producing professional photos? what are your thoughts on this?

    I'd hardly call the Sony ZV-1 a point & shoot camera - a term usually applicable to very simple, cheap cameras. The ZV-1 costs around €800 and is pitched mainly at vloggers all of whom would know their f stops from their shutter speeds. A true P&S would be something like the Canon IXUS 185 which retails around €135. Be that as it may, any camera can be used to produce excellent results and the pointers you provide all help in that regard. Give someone who knows their stuff an old Kodak Instamatic film camera with a plastic lens and they will produce good results. In the same way that it's the chef and not the cooker, it's the photographer and not the camera.

    • @VicBarry
      @VicBarry  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey John, thanks for watching and the great comment. I take the point, but point and shoot is necessarily about cost but size. But totally agree, it's not about the camera, it's about who's using it!

    Still prefer cameras to phones for photos and videos. Something about the quality on the phone and that fear of running out of space.

    Format the SD card from the camera. The tip nowbody actually cared about, until they do a little research why their priceless photos was corrupted.
    One tip I would like to see... check the pc monitor your using for color calibrations etc. (or just do a sanity check on another device of the finished result).

    • @VicBarry
      @VicBarry  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there, absolutely. On the color calibrations, while it's absolutely useful to have a properly calibrated monitor, always rely on the scopes and not your eyes :)

      Hey Stewart, absolutely. However it all depends on what you’re shooting ultimately. There isn’t a huge zoom lens on it so if you think you’d need to be close up to the action from far away then it’s a non runner. Otherwise. It’s a beast.
