      Boosting an engine destroys its reliability and isn't of much use as a daily driver. As a project car or weekend track toy, sure, but not something you can depend on to get you around town all year without frequent trips to the mechanic. You can't get a manufacture drive-train warranty with a boosted LS. 700hp plus reliability is a rarity. That's the point the guy was making.

    • @GodotPozzo
      @GodotPozzo 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@akassasin5768 A stock 4th gen LS has about 325 hp. Boosting it to get 700 hp, more than double the hp, would turn it into an unreliable mess. You can get a lot of mileage out of an LS or you can get a lot of horsepower, but you can't have both at the same time. If you don't realize that then you've obviously never dealt with any turbo systems. Boosting an engine to produce double the horsepower literally destroys the engine.

      Remember, The Hell Cat was not the 1st engine choice. They already had an engine for the project & shoved it off to the side for bigger & better things. It was after they started the work that they actually made the decision on the Hell Cat 6.2L 707 HP Supercharged Magnum Engine. When they made the decision to swap over to the Hell Cat, that changed a lot of things including which restoration parts to buy. They now had to upgrade with performance parts from stock. When that decision to swap was made, they probably already had time set aside for the body & paint at the paint shop. That time might be hard to change.
