Terence McKenna - The Price Of Miracles

  • "Somehow the price of being able to work the miracle was literally loss of soul, by virtue of having to opt into the metaphor that nature herself had no soul. In other words, it's like modern man has made the journey into the realm of the Golem, in order to be in the realm of the Golem you must shed your own soul and leave it behind you. Well, this is the cultural situation that we inherit. Jean-Paul Sartre in his major opus "Being and Nothingness" which sort of summed up 20th century philosophy said "Nature is mute." That is the existential situation. Well, to me this is like an apotheosis of wrongheadedness. Nature is not mute, it must be that man is deaf."

The Terence from the 90s somehow let me to the Watts from the 60s which led me to the Jung from the 30s. Everything in cycles/circles, right? Love is Learning. Read again. Funny how we still greet when passing each other in the woods, isn't it? Love & Light. 1

The best thing about psychedelics in my view, is the way that I feel as though I’m a child once again. Allowing me to reconnect to the dreams I had. Making art is the best way to learn about your subconscious. And all I ever want to do during my trips is make art. I can’t wait until I train my hand, to then make the depiction of my dreams as they seem to me.

No one can compare to the way he articulates and verbalizes his philosophies and ideologies , He is so intricately him , There is no way he wouldn't be recognized years later. I think He just did what he loved. Continuously gaining knowledge and wisdom. With an open mind and open heart. Therefore he is now a staple in the conscious collective of our soul.

Once, I took almost a year long break from McKenna, and in that time had to write a philosophy essay about Berkeley’s idealism. I wrote it was toxic ideology meant to confuse and obscure our minds... and I got a 98 ?? How wrong I was, but answer me this. Ideas are malleable. The external world is not. I think the sky’s blue but I can’t change that with the production of an idea. Or if I can, my friend wouldn’t be able to see the same hallucination, new reality, idea whatever you wanna call it, so how can this be if radical idealism truly is the nature the world. The world is made completely and totally of mind yes, how does this fit into the existence of the material word?
