I don't know how anyone could downvote Terrace McKenna. His vocabulary alone and way of speaking and what he has to say is an art.
Going too long without a psychedelic experience has caused me to feel the same physical and emotional sensations of missing a true love. I long for that embrace again. No joy in this realm comes close to the love on the other side. My soul thirsts for a drop
@Armenias Thunk you're right every ATTEMPT is a failure. To acknowledge the feeling and speak of it, isn't to miss the point. Try not to preach so much, rather invite people to be like you with your love, instead of your condescension and unrighteous self pleasuring through the "correction" of a youtube commenters exhalation. And a drop seems to be all you need. I've tripped in the past and have been microdosing for a few years now. Microdosing feels like the months after the trip when you feel "connected" without even trying. ❤️

Terrence is great but due to a scarcity of content I would recommend the lex fridman podcast to occasionally occupy you free time.

I'm speaking up alrighty. Sometimes it feels like I'm too late, but I would probably still feel like that even if I were living in 1992. The challenge is finding people who will listen to you. Ordinary people don't always grasp this stuff without some prior contact. People don't want to help each other in the capitalist hellhole.
The best thing about psychedelics in my view, is the way that I feel as though I’m a child once again. Allowing me to reconnect to the dreams I had. Making art is the best way to learn about your subconscious. And all I ever want to do during my trips is make art. I can’t wait until I train my hand, to then make the depiction of my dreams as they seem to me.
Same man. I hadn't done any form of creative drawing until my first LSD experience. I saw colours I had forgotten about, shapes with a visceral meaning and feeling, ways of exploring my subconscious that I did when I was a kid.
This man changed my like about 5 years ago... And I couldn't thank him enough

Terrance McKenna has an amazing vocabulary and I don't just mean he knows allot of words but he knows how to use those words correctly in a sentence which can help even the silliest of people to go out and do some research when Thier say for example stoned and stumble across something like this and from there that beings mind can be expanded into the eternal consciousness within us all hopefully and prayerfully. Such a beautiful man. Thank you Terrance for doing what you called "coming back with fish for the village" love it.

I wish Terrence was alive today to indulge in the chaos of modern day life. He surely would have had his fill in expanding on the aspects that he predicted in the 80-90s such as media, AI, replicating a psychedelic trip with AI etc.
*It's so weird. Terence just had to exist. He is an archetype. Sometimes I feel like I just imagined him into exitence because he's about the coolest cat there ever was.*

I've often thought about how miraculous phenomena are an example of how conditions can come together in such a way that they are impossible, or at least incredibly difficult, to replicate. It's like the idea that you can't replicate the precise, exact state that you occupied a moment before.

I think the fact he didn't care about his societal status or becoming "known". Is what set him apart from anyone. He simply was in a class of his own. No one can compare to the way he articulates and verbalizes his philosophies and ideologies , He is so intricately him , There is no way he wouldn't be recognized years later. I think He just did what he loved. Continuously gaining knowledge and wisdom. With an open mind and open heart. Therefore he is now a staple in the conscious collective of our soul.

Once, I took almost a year long break from McKenna, and in that time had to write a philosophy essay about Berkeley’s idealism. I wrote it was toxic ideology meant to confuse and obscure our minds... and I got a 98 ?? How wrong I was, but answer me this. Ideas are malleable. The external world is not. I think the sky’s blue but I can’t change that with the production of an idea. Or if I can, my friend wouldn’t be able to see the same hallucination, new reality, idea whatever you wanna call it, so how can this be if radical idealism truly is the nature the world. The world is made completely and totally of mind yes, how does this fit into the existence of the material word?

Terence was such a cool guy. I really enjoy his ideas and hearing him communicate them. He exhibits masterful communication skills on any topic. It would have been cool for him and Ray Kurzwell to talk. I've always imagined there was a link between their theories in some way (maybe) , McKennas Novelty and Kurzwells Singularity. Anyways, always a pleasure viewing. Thanks for sharing. 8)

I'm not sure the resistance to the idea of, "going away," phenomena is entirely western. I think there are serious problems with a perception that things are not eternal. Things are eternal, it's our perception of them as non-eternal that is ephemeral.
