You should do a Red Dead 2 cut scene reaction for the stuff you missed. Or the all camp interactions reaction.
Just bear in mind GOW 2018 gameplay wise is nothing like the old GOW games. 2018 one is more soulslike and kind of a soft reboot for the franchise.
Btw guys i highly recommend adding the Yakuza games into the list starting from Yakuza 0. It's technically Japanese GTA but mainly focuses on hand to hand combat. I promise you guys will have a blast playing these Yakuza games. The side missions are fun and hilarious too.

At the part where he has to defend his family from other versions of himself, the way he heals during the fighting is by hugging his family
He actually gives his health to heal them, so it's even more impactful.

Ancient greeks had two gods of war: Ares and Athena. Ares represented the ugly and brutal side of war, while Athena represented honorable fighting, the strategy etc

26:00 i love this guys voice acting, he’s not super dramatic like other people in the game or warning, he just sounds so done with everything and i think thats very realistic, so many times in these scenarios people are dramatic about eternal torment but i feel like in reality most would just start to feel annoyed by it

@@_MadManMurk it would be 4 weeks per game if they played the Og trilogy. they are each like 7-20 hours long depending on skill level.
and 2018/Ragnorok are like 25 to 60 haha.. so yeah. id rather not wait that long XD
@@RiverRockRecords I mean part of the experience of video games is actually playing them and the overall journey itself imo. The payoff would’ve been that much more epic when they got to 2018 and Ragnarok and I find it hard for you to deny that even if you would’ve found it excruciating to wait for months to get 2018.
Hope they do it better than some youtubers who just messed it up... And didn't choose the right clips, with complete story and dialogue...... 😅

I'm so glad you went down this route!! The 2018 game doesn't require knowledge of the originals but it definitely adds weight. And doing it this way gives you so much more than the 20 min summary most creators watched.
The story telling only gets better from here too.
God of War 2 has x2 the gore, x2 the dismemberments, x2 badass moments and x2 the boobs.. Which I would start censoring because TH-cam is sensitive lol
This video was pretty good, I like that they included important battles as well even if they arent technically cutscenes, they are just as important. A lot of these compilations miss out on some important stuff, but this one was good.

I went into the 2018 game completely blind, as a friend got it for me for my bday. I still fell in love with it and its sequal without ever playing the previous ones! I of course read up on the backstory and watched some cinematics myself to get the context of Kratos' struggles. Can't wait to watch the playthrough ❤

Thank you for doing this!!! GOW 2018 is an amazing story by itself, but it's massively elevated in weight and stakes when you know the contexts behind it.
I think it's a good thing you're only watching the cutscenes for the first 3 before playing 2018. Just me personally I played the first 3 so many times that when my friend let me try out his copy of 2018 the difference for what buttons u use to fight with was too different and I couldn't get the hang of it so I just watched my friend play lol, absolutely epic game it was though and I can't wait to watch y'all play it. Also I had no idea u guys had a gaming channel till the other day when this showed up on my recommended feed.
Im excited for yall to play God of War. My oldest son & i played this version (2005), but ive never played any other ones. Just never had the chance as life will be life & back then Resident Evil was all i had any spare time to play so im genuinely pumped to see how good im sure it looks. Cant wait!!!❤💞❤️

Hey, while button mashing can totally drag you into the game, once you get to God of War (2018) there is an option in the menu for accessibility. You can set it to HOLD instead of mashing, so that way you can save you controller. Button mashing is fun, till you break a button!!

15:05 the idea is that the woman here is so incredibly afraid of Kratos, for what he has done, why she called him a monster, that she rather risked to jump than to face him. Even if Kratos would have meant no harm. That said, considering he dumped the captain of a ship into the throat of a dead hydra, I'm leaning towards the woman's choice.
1:07:27 So...Kratos still suffers his nightmares. The words of the gods hold much weight, and listen closely to what Athena said. "You cannot die by your own hand." Ensuring two things. That Kratos would live, and because he is so powerful, would be the God of War for a long time to come.

Love this series so much and seeing you guys react to this game has been a joy. Brings me back to when i first played. Still need to watch videos for 2 and 3 to get more context as to what Kratos gets into before the 2018 game. And still i havent touched that and Ragnarok because i didnt have a playstation. But i plan on playing them as soon as i can.
Also this first game was meant to be a 1 and done, but with the success it had they decided to make it a series. 2 and 3 follow the format most trilogies do, where 2 sets up 3. And man do they set up a ending in 3. Hope you guys watch those and get caught up.

One of the best game series period! The story, the cinematics, the gameplay, the emotion. It's all just done so well. The story alone is just as good as some of the best movies I've seen ever! And this is only the beginning. Can't wait for the next game reactions (gotta watch scenes from 2 and 3 as well!). Hopefully we get them soon so you guys can play the new ones.

Yes cutscenes tell the story in it's entirety. Also check the other games like chains of Olympus and ghost of sparta. They do add to 2018.
Man the original God of War series is so awesome. It had unprecedented gore and action combat for its time, which holds up despite the aged graphics imo. Just the way you could finish your enemies with QTE's in the most brutal ways.

@cjjackson2423 ascension, ghost, and Olympus are actually pretty short. Specifically, ghost and Olympus, I was able to finish in only a few hours if I recall correctly. They aren't huge parts of the story, but it's still a good time.

This is a smart way to get into the God of war lore without having to play the old games. Nothing against the old games but prefer this so much more! Badd medicine gang being a step above the rest as usual!
Doing lore videos??? Interesting, thats honestly a good idea for the games that would take as long as red dead 2 lol. But overall, cool idea for a video. You guys the best. I hope you guys are doing well because these uploads have been swift and amazing!
If you can find it, it is quite worth it to find the extras, secret cutscenes, from the first game in one you learn an important plot point and in another extra you learn the fate of Cronos.
If you are really invested in the story of Kratos and why he is the way he is, then this is the best order to go through. After this one, you should do the cutscenes of Ascension, Chains of Olympus, Ghost of Sparta, GOW 2, GOW3, then you are all caught up for 2018 and Ragnorok. But for the last two, please don't just pay attention to the cutscenes, the dialogue of the characters are too important to miss and ignore, especially if you want the full context of the story.
For any Greek game you don't need to worry about gameplay stuff!!! It's completely diff. on next Gen. Just sit back and enjoy.

The graphic are so much better in 2018 - it's a beautiful game.
this game series changed my life. watching 1 2 and 3 is fine if you're time constrained but if you have the time watch the prequel games too, chains of olympus, ghost of sparta and ascension. they're worth watching. there's also a live action trailer for ascension it's called god of war ashes trailer it's really cool.

You know after the events that transpired here Kratos learned to read the fine print of what the gods tell him because Athena said that if he defeated Ares then his past would be forgiven however she said nothing about taking away the visions and nightmares that plague him

Please tell me you guys are going to watch the Chains Of Olympus The Ghost Of Sparta, and Ascension cutscenes too. Those are sooooooooooo important. The tattoos are extremely important and only explained there, for example. Far from the only important thing from them, but a big example.

Great choice! Bear in mind, this isn't based exactly on the actual myths. The developers took elements and pieces from the mythology and made their own story using them. So some things and characters are either completely changed, absent or just rearranged to make something else. But all in all, it's still a great game series

You have to do the second and third games cutscenes before you jump into the 2018 game. They are really important for the story, especialy the third one.
