Z reviews can you please post a video talking about modern amplifiers vs old school integrated amplifies from the 70s-90s. There are so many people who swear they produce incredible sound characteristics. For me, in my opinion this is 1 of two things happening. @@universeman657 I think they're pretty great. They didn't have as much sound stage as I thought they would, the Massdrop Modern Retros have more. They also had more bass than I expected but the highs could be a little harsh at times, specifically with the "S"s. The micro suede lost me some of the sub-bass, but I gained a significant amount more soundstage. The clamp force is really heavy from factory, and the brainwavz pads made it worse since they're thicker than the stock pads. I loosened them up and now I can wear them literally all day. Build quality isn't too bad either imo. If you're used to wood/aluminum/leather headphones, then these will be garbage to you, but they they're not squeaky, flimsy or any mold flashing. The headband however has very sharp edges, I actually got two cuts from it and I ended up using some 200grit sand paper to dull the edges. The build quality is better than the Monoprice MR's. I use them for gaming and music listening. They EQ really, really well. More sub-bass, tame the highs. They sound great.
I got my 004’s today and I really like their sound! My only issue with them so far is comfort, but I’m hoping that improves over time. I do plan to change out the pads for the Valore ones. Call me naive, but I just learned how the Amazon Associates Program works and now I a smidge hesitant trusting all these budget "must buy" headphones and pads that are well reviewed and linked for purchase on amazon. I enjoy the fuck out of the review style, but I feel like disclosures on each video that contain affiliate links and not just a single disclosure on the About page would help support the integrity of Amazon product reviews.
OK time to ask excluding a computer I already own one. living on a fixed income I have a budget of 400$ and wanted to get something to listen to music, What would you recommend for listening to headphones right now and in the future adding speakers for around $300
Keep in mind Z Reviews isnt much better than most reviews on reddit/online forums, they are all very subjective and can be misleading. However he is a fun guy to watch and makes entertaining content. Your best bet is to start cheap, find your preferences for sound signature, earcup design, soundstage, etc. And DONT start thinking a $300 dac/amp will change music and you will hear a "night and day" difference, its easy to get lost in marketing BS and hyped reviews. The point of diminishing returns is quite low with audio, meaning spending $400 or more wont make a "night and day" difference as so many people like to state . I personally would recommend Sennheiser: HD600/598 Beyerdynamic: DT770/990 Keep in mind it has more to do with your preferences so if you ever have the chance to try any headphone your considering do it, some people might glorify a certain headphone and you might hate it. Goodluck and consider if your purchase will be for practical use or more of a hobby/collection. You dont need to spend much to get great audio reproduction.
@@DavidGarcia-uz3ox the problem is being on a fixed income like a am I can;t afford to buy something just to see if I like it. I live on a VA disability pension of 1127 dollars a month I can save about 150 a month for things I would like to own. It's not like in the days I grew up in where there were stereo stores where you can walk in a see if you like the sound of something. Those shops are few and if you find one they only carry a select few brands so I have to rely on reviews.
@@grahamdouglas7756 very true, unfortunately it is quite hard to find shops that will let you try before you buy. Id recommend researching the best sounding headphone you may have used in the past to learn about its characteristics, then compare it to several reviews of other headphones you might like, maybe that will help.
Also its easier if you have an idea of what sort of sound you are expecting for example, something previous headphones lack, or something you find annoying about your current audio equipment. That way you can find a starting point instead of being flooded with dozens of headphones and all their differences.
@@DavidGarcia-uz3ox I have nothing right now because 5 years ago while living in Michigan I became homeless for lack of jobs and lost pretty much everything I owned so I am starting from scratch with only a computer I saved up for a built I even lost my album collection that dated back to the 40s and even the equipment I had back then was not the best sounding that is why I am looking for information here
Just got these (SV004s). Initial impression: they're a better version of the HD 681 EVO. Good bass extension and imaging, and decent soundstage. Upper bass is too boomy and the midrange sounds dull and veiled. The sound is dark until you get to the 10-11K region. Not worth $90, maybe 50-70. Better than the SHPs, which I hate, but overall not as good as the M40x.
He listed the MH751 which are pro 82s without bass ports Personally, I like the pro 82s, having one bass port open is just perfect for me. Just enough volumetric low end and the sub-bass comes up real nice, but the mh751 aren't meant for music listening anyways, they are gaming headphones, and the bass isn't as important there, so the mh751 are just going to be the new Cloud 2s.
Z, I had that grounding issue with my Vmoda and my Schiit stack (modi 2 and Magni 2 Uber) I switch to toslink from usb and it solved it. Am I loosing anything quality wise. Also using SHP9500s. Thanks!
Losing quality, no way, if anything you are getting more quality. The only thing is, for the most part optical and coaxial are going to be limited to 24/192, not all of them are there is stuff that has been coming out lately that is able to get up to 32/384 and some dsd if you care. I personally could care less but I do appreciate good recordings regardless of sample rate, 98% of the music I own is 16/44 and there is no problem with it. USB is getting better all the time and now with dedicated streamers that have USB I'm sure it's getting really good but it's also expensive right now and probably only equal to coax/optical not better.

Want to add another sub 100 headphone to your list, try the Cleer DU. 79.99 last time I checked on Amazon. Two 40mm drivers per cup. Keep finding these hidden gems, always looking to find the next bang for your buck headphone.
hey zeos do veluor pads fit to m40x? cow leather are too expensive but veluors price is normal so i want to change the pads on my m40x
They'll give you a very different sound. Bright, my guess. Check his review of the headphones for his recommendation.
How does anyone feel about replacing the 004 with a pair of Senn? I like my 004 just curious though. Thanks!
Hey @zreviews what are your speaker stands?
soundrisepro.com
I personally would recommend Sennheiser: HD600/598
Beyerdynamic: DT770/990
Keep in mind it has more to do with your preferences so if you ever have the chance to try any headphone your considering do it, some people might glorify a certain headphone and you might hate it.
@@DavidGarcia-uz3ox I have nothing right now because 5 years ago while living in Michigan I became homeless for lack of jobs and lost pretty much everything I owned so I am starting from scratch with only a computer I saved up for a built I even lost my album collection that dated back to the 40s and even the equipment I had back then was not the best sounding that is why I am looking for information here
For the 004, rosewood or walnut? Also, 004 or 005?
They look so similar! So zeos which is BETTER...
Was that punch and warmth from the headphones or the fart? lol
The "Fart" in Russian this is "Success"!))
Gotta love The Doors!
There made by Blon Bosshifi and rebranded.
Better than the SHPs, which I hate, but overall not as good as the M40x.
thanks!
M40x is a closed-back.
Seriously tempted by their Triple Driver IEM..anyone have experience with those?
great review i love your channel .... god you people 😂😂😂😂 yes we need more info maaan gaming it is.
These or the 9500s please answer
The THX is preorderable on Massdrop again...
Whats the difference between the 004 and 007 though?
007 more even, deep, neutral, "monitor`s". 004 more emotional in serving, warm and slightly bright.

how are these for metal?
is 004 like open version of M40X ?
Am I the only one who keeps wanting to call these cans, Smegma? No. Aight, I'll see myself out
Smegheads would be a good brand name.
Will they return
you forgot the takstar pro82
He listed the MH751 which are pro 82s without bass ports
Personally, I like the pro 82s, having one bass port open is just perfect for me. Just enough volumetric low end and the sub-bass comes up real nice, but the mh751 aren't meant for music listening anyways, they are gaming headphones, and the bass isn't as important there, so the mh751 are just going to be the new Cloud 2s.
Meatus is what you're looking for, the urethral meatus lol
Z Reivews
Oval pads, for extra comfort!
Plz put the CB-1s in the description thx
"Z Reivews"
so, just bought a He4xx... should i sell them and get this?
He didn't sell his 4xx, but is going to sell these. Unless you really need the wood, I wouldn't do it.
External urethral orifice
Ever want to try the Sony MDR EX1000 or Sony MDR 7550?
they look like monoprice monolith m650
You're right
It makes no sense to have those monitors upside down, the tweeter is not at ear level, come on Z, it's getting old.
You can tell Zeos until he's blue in the face about that but his OCD will tell him to turn them upside down, even if it's wrong.
padrolling on 90$ hp? cmon!
2, 4, 5, 7...WTF?
z reivews
Lasmex L-85 anyone?
oOoOO do I get the first comment?
