I really like how the raindrop pattern turned out. It's subtle but with the high layer count it has great chatoyance! Anything you'd change in this build?
@@wrk3182 thanks! I was pleased with how the pattern turned out on this one. I have a build coming up where the chatoyance is amazing! 👍
Well shoot.. it shows I watched it lol but don't remember.. haha ok here we go!
@@mcrich1978 does that mean you missed the quillion dagger too? That one is a “can’t miss” build! 😜
@@TyrellKnifeworks ohh I saw that 1 for sure.. I think I started this Video and my Kids were having a melt down or something. Lol
@@TyrellKnifeworks yeah man that is beautiful! Grats Brandon!
Nice cleaver, I like the pattern
Thanks!
Love the end result, also, the cleaning rubber is hard to find in Romania, so since i'm always working in crocs, i just push them into the belt and voila, my belt is all clean😁
Crocs, that’s awesome! 🤣
Great job, Denis! ... Came out really nice !!! 😎👍🏻
Thanks, Bob! My friend Brandon loved it. 👍
The amount of things I use nail polish for in the shop lol. My wife doesn't wear nail polish so I'm the only one who purchases it. This build turned out fantastic.
Yup, she laughed when I said I need some nail polish! I’m happy how the pattern turned out on this one. 👍
Another gorgeous piece! I love that pattern.
Thanks for checking out this build, Stephen. It was for a friend of mine.
I think the raindrop pattern on the larger blade works a treat! I've got some 100+ year old wrought iron anchor chair if your interested for a future build I could spare some a chunk.
I might take you up on that some time! My project list is already pretty full right now but maybe in a few months. 👍
@@TyrellKnifeworks no worries.
I absolutely love raindrop Damascus. That integrated bolster is fantastic as well. Truly a work of art!
Thanks for checking it out, Curtis!
Great video Denis! I'll be forging a cleaver soon, so this really helps my out with the planning. Thanks for sharing my brother! 😎👍🏻🔨🔥🔪
Thanks for watching, Bob!
Beautiful….as per usual! Good tip on cleaning the sanding belts. I go the cheap way…Goodwill-type stores always have shoes that have a big thick rubber sole/heel. They work just as good and fraction of the cost.
Yup, old shoes are excellent for this. These days its hard to find those old rubber sole'd shoes though. 😉. Thanks for watching.
I thought that was you on Bladesmithing For Beginners on fb!!!!
Yup, that's me! Glad you found the channel!
Looks awesome.👍 As soon as you said "clear nail polish" my wife chimed In and said , "ohhh great". Lol she has already sacrificed nail polish for the cause.🤙
Haha, gotta get the wives interested somehow! 👍
Beautiful cleaver. What was the edge thickness off the grinder and sharping angle? Thanks
I didn’t check it but off the grinder was about .01”. The angle was 25degrees. Thanks for watching!
Great job on this build, both video and cleaver! And that Osage Orange is some hard stuff
This pattern turned out pretty nice. I’m not really a big fan of the raindrop pattern but this was decent. Thanks for watching.
Can you please make a t-shirt with "so that's what were gonna do" written on it. It's a stable part of every video.
I love it! I’ve been looking for something else to put on shirts. 👍
That's a beast cleaver man. Great build all around. Thanks for the video
Thanks for checking this one out!
Looks great, Denis! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks!
You can also use an old training shoe to clean the belts , the soul ( rubber) is just as good as a commercial cleaner i use both
Yup, I’m sure that would work too
What type of vise are you using for your hand sanding?
It’s a home made vise. I did an overview of it in this video: th-cam.com/video/rI6haA_znJc/w-d-xo.html. Thanks for watching
Nice save on the tang man! It came out really nice! I like how you did the fit up on the tapered tang
Thank you! Cheers!
I pronounce it Oh Saga with a hard S and saga like an epic story if that helps at all
I remember seeing this one but watched again because I like it so much, the raindrop damascus is a relatively simple process but its so effective.
Awesome cleaver Denis
I’ve heard so many different pronunciations of that, it’s hard to tell which is correct. Thanks for taking a look.
@@TyrellKnifeworks never had a video yet that wasn't interesting and watchable👍
Beautiful cleaver!!! great work as always Denis! I’d butcher a moose with it!!😂 I definitely need to get some cleaning blocks for my belts!🔥⚒💪🏻
It’s got the weight behind it, we could do a moose. You’ve got enough of em walking around your house! 😜
Super Fantastic!❤
Thanks for watching!
absolutely amazing
Thanks Shaun! Glad you like it.
Love your cleaver, and thanks for the reminder about cutting pins off not grinding them. I've gotten lazy!
Thanks for watching! 👍
Love the subtle blue accent.
Thanks! It was for a close friend. 👍
Again. I'm in awe....your work is amazing.
Thanks for going back into the library! ❤️
