I was thinking about that 35 minutes. But I'm going to try it. I wonder if cooking it on low and stirring a little less would work? 😂 😂😂 Sometimes I crack myself up.
What a fun idea! I’m going to try it using 1.5 sticks of butter on top and it probably won’t need more than 30 minutes tops to bake because the filling is already cooked and a cake in that large of a pan shouldn’t take anymore than 25-30 minutes to brown up and hopefully it won’t stick to the pan. I love that frozen butter tip with the grater, I’m definitely trying this! ❤❤❤ Thanks for sharing 🙏
I am thrilled to find this recipe, with my IBS I can’t eat cherries or apples anymore, so this is perfect. I bet the reason the cake batter showed dry on top of part of it was because you didn’t use enough butter. It needs the whole stick shredded on top. I can’t wait to make it!
What a great idea for a dump cake! Looks wonderful. I could almost smell the caramel! The only dump cakes I have made have been with fruit so this is a new twist for me on a favorite.
Is there any way to dump it out like an upside down cake so the caramel pecans are served on top? Maybe bake in a different type pan that releases easier? I would use the bigger grater holes like you use for carrots to grate the cold or frozen butter like I do for pie crust... I don't think the cooking spray would taste good at all. More butter, yes!
You could line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper. Maybe butter and flour the sides, too. I would think it should be released easily if you turned it upside down. I like your idea.
Place a silicone sheet at the bottom of the baking pan or line the pan with parchment paper, it will lift out or fall out when you turn the baking pan over. More butter, yes, definitely!
Ashley thank you for the delicious dump cake recipe. Wish you and your family Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year . God bless you and your family . 🙏.

I'll try the cake mix with brownie mix and use the 🧈 in the gallon bag technique for even coverage and sprinkle the crumble on the caramel mixture. I'm looking forward to more content of great culinary experiments! 👊🏿🤙🏿...
I have seen some bakers grate the butter with a box grater to make their pie crust. So I think that would work to cover the dump cakes too. Anyway, looks great. Thanks.
I came across your channel tonight and when I saw "caramel" and "pecan" in the title, there was no question I was going to watch this! I felt as if I were sitting in the kitchen chatting with my best friend while she stirred up something for us to "pig out" on later. I love your relaxed style, and I am now a subscriber. I do have a question. One of my daughters has severe food allergies and I cannot use cake mixes. Do you think whipping up a regular homemade cake batter would work just as well?
Hey there!! These are such kind words ❤️ and speaks to how I hope to come across in my videos. 🙏🏾 A homemade cake would be AMAZING with this. Thank you so much for watching and subscribing!
@DreamCatcher-tq5lh Same here! Caramel & pecan got my attention. Also, I’m thinking about making the cake batter and putting it on top of caramel pecan mixture! I hope it works out.
Oh my god that looks so good and easy. My family is going to love it when I bring it for Christmas dinner. I definitely going to use that butter trick. I normally use 2 sticks of butter. If you have a little kitchen torch you can put a bit of melted butter on the white spots and torch it and it will get done lickity split. Again looks good to me!!
I gotta try me some of that. I love caramel. I could tell by the coverage of butter that you were gonna get some dry spots. Maybe try the shredder size hole of grater. You know the one you would use for carrots in slaw. You gotta have at least 1 stick of butter on top. The oil spray you mentioned would help as well. I bet with the full coverage of oil/butter you would have had it in the oven about 15 minutes less when the top turned brown.
I knew that would happen with all that dry cake mix. But, I bet it did taste good with the ice cream. You could even put it in a blender and make an ice cream crunch topper.👍🏾
I think I’m gonna try it and change one thing… make the batter for cake and pour that on top of caramel sauce and let it back that way for more of a “Dump cake” And the way you did it for a more of a Cobbler/pie situation! THANK YOU 4 SHARING!! Looks amazing!!!
Would like to know what size pan she used. Can't wait to try it looks Delicious. Thank you Ashley for this great recipe and you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving and God Bless. 🙏.
I used a 13x9 pan. I hope you love it as much as my parents and I did. Same to you and your family! May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ bless you and your family as well!
Forget shaving frozen butter for the cake mix. Drizzling butter on dry cake mix leaves powdery spots. I just place the dry mix in a gallon zip loc bag, add butter and close. You can use less butter tookike 2/3 stick. I knead then together with my fingers till evenly mixed. Easy to do while watching tv or TH-cam. Goes on evenly over the rest of the ingredients has good crunch. Any leftover can be closed letting air out in bag. Or make ahead keep in fridge or freezer. Easy peasy. Cobblers are fantastic with this. You'll get compliments.

Not sure how the dry cake mix ever got mixed into the wet ingredients enuf to actually form a cake.
Love your video, I can't wait to try this. You have a great personality and you're so natural in your videos, thank you for keeping it real.
@@Samanta71-ne4fs Thank you for the kind words!! I appreciate you watching! ❤️
This is like a praline cake
I didn’t think of that. But you’re right! Thanks for watching.
I knew it would be delicious. Thank you for the recipe.
@@sandyreffitt You’re very welcome!😊

Thank you so much and hope you enjoy my other videos! ❤️❤️❤️
Love pecan pie & cake, so this recipe is yelling to me right now. Can’t wait to make it!!
If you make it, let us know how it goes. 🥰
New subscriber!! Fascinating experiment, and like others have said, I love pecans and caramel. I'll try the cake mix with brownie mix and use the 🧈 in the gallon bag technique for even coverage and sprinkle the crumble on the caramel mixture. I'm looking forward to more content of great culinary experiments! 👊🏿🤙🏿...

Somebody said you made a funky looking, too sweet, dumb(p) cake! 😂 I don’t care what they say, you are AMAZING!
THANK YOU BESTIE!!!! Love you so much. ❤️❤️❤️
@@AshleyNRichardson I love you more! 😘
It's beautiful and looks delicious . Great job.
❤️❤️❤️
I have seen some bakers grate the butter with a box grater to make their pie crust. So I think that would work to cover the dump cakes too. Anyway, looks great. Thanks.
Thanks for the suggestion and for watching!
I’m looking forward to making this,I love pecans, thank you for sharing.

@@AshleyNRichardson To God be the glory
@DreamCatcher-tq5lh
Same here!
Caramel & pecan got my attention.
Also, I’m thinking about making the cake batter and putting it on top of caramel pecan mixture!
I hope it works out.
@@TanyaAldridge-c8z Let's do it!! Good luck to both of us. 🙂
@@Teresia12 A kitchen torch sounds like fun! I’ll have to look into that. Thanks for sharing!!
Oh my goodness i am drooling
It was so good! 😊
Well I'm gonna try it .thank you for trying it first .I love dump cakes especially peach.
@@abbeydial7894 Yes, peach dump cake is amazing. I’ve made one of those too. Check it out if you have a chance. 😊
Ditto to everything you’ve said! Thanks for the suggestions and for watching. 😊
Butter: better and healthier imo
This looks so good! Thank you for sharing, I will be making this!😊
This looks great 😋
Thank you!!
Mmmmmm that looks soooo delicious. ❤ thank you for sharing.
You’re so welcome!! Thanks for watching. 🥰
I really liked the way you put this thing together, great job!!!! 1 hour is too long baking it.
Thanks. I agree. Maybe 45 minutes the next time.
Oh wow that’s awesome, definitely my type of cake! Thank you so much ❤
Thank you for watching! 😊
I knew that would happen with all that dry cake mix. But, I bet it did taste good with the ice cream. You could even put it in a blender and make an ice cream crunch topper.👍🏾
Thanks for the suggestion and for watching. Much appreciated. 😊
I’m my!!! This looks soooo delious!!! Gotta try this for sure!!! What a genius hack for distributing the butter!!! YUM, YUM!!!😋
Thank you for watching and commenting. Very much appreciated.
Maybe use a grater with larger holes. I can almost smell and taste it. Well done.
Great idea! And believe me, it smelled scrumptious!! Thanks for watching.
Oh man, that looks so yummy! Thanks for sharing. 🙂☮️❤️
Thank you for watching and it’s my pleasure!! 😊
Even when you shave the butter, you still need to use a stick at least for the m.oisture of the cake
I agree! Thanks for watching.
Looks good, i would probably just use 1/2 cake mix not the whole box. But i love this type of sweets. Thanks
💯% agree with washing cans! You are the bomb!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I ALWAYS wash my cans in Hot Water and wipe it dry for anything I use canned ingredients for... sometimes they just be dusty and nasty!!!
@@lynnhutto2910 Exactly! 👍🏾
I think I’m gonna try it and change one thing… make the batter for cake and pour that on top of caramel sauce and let it back that way for more of a “Dump cake”
And the way you did it for a more of a Cobbler/pie situation!
THANK YOU 4 SHARING!! Looks amazing!!!
Ooo that sounds yummy. Come back and let us know how it goes. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🥰
1/4 cup of Vanilla?? 😂 We are kindred spirits for sure
Vanilla is THEE BEST! I love it in my coffee, in my cakes, and even in my perfumes! Thanks for watching! 😊
@AshleyNRichardson looked like the vanilla bottle from Costco. Their vanilla is a good quality at a great price.
@@mrxman581 IT IS!!! I love their vanilla and it’s reasonably priced too.

Can't wait to try it looks Delicious.
Thank you Ashley for this great recipe and you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving
and God Bless.
Wow! First time seeing this technique. Thanks for sharing, watching, and commenting.
Thanks that's a good idea 😊
