    Great breakdown! 👍 Whatnot is definitely about community. Keep in mind when you see people running low dollar cars that many times those are coming from collections and have been bought in bulk. Also can help the loss leader strategy you mention. The big problem with selling those cars is often the extra time it takes to pack all those cars which can really cut into your profits per hour.

    I visited Whatnot a couple nights ago. I got some great deals! I thought I saw you pop in with a bid every now and then. I was getting a feel for the platform. Am gearing up for my first show. I'm not expecting an Oscar for my performance 😂 Am excited to try a new venue. Thanks for the tips!

    I bought the Zamac r33 factory sealed, thank you so much for respecting my time and agreeing on selling it earlier, not everyone have the time to monitor a stream for hours until the item you specifically want is up for sale

    Great break down. Shipping materials add up too. With the fees and such, may have to be decisive on what to sell.

    Ran into one of your streams the other night and dropped you a follow. Pretty cool to see you on here as well. Been working on starting my show asap before that 150 incentive expires lol. Great video!

    Great analysis man. I haven’t checked how much I’ve made yet from 2 shows as well. And man I think that not so great lighting and monotonous sounds like me😅. Working on it still. Totally agree on the statement of “trust your buyers”. And that $150 match was nice from whatnot.

    That’s not counting the time packing and shipping though, I mean it still amounts to profit, but then when you factor in sourcing it dwindles down to even less, even still, making money off a hobby and keeping the best cars is still a win

    I think you need to also account for the amount of time to prepare the shipping and dropping them off at the post office.

    Brother, Good class on what Not procedures but if you don't mind i have a honest observation, this what not euforia, what I see with what not is that the platform is creating more scalpers that we have before, if ebay and Mercari was enough, now you got this one, so off course out there is going to be a war to find something, because everyone on the hobby new and old will be getting the cars for themselves and for sell. So basically now is goint to be 1 for me, 1 for keep carded and 1 for sell, so a simple hobby now becomes a fight to get what you really want to collect. BTW i being a collector for more than 30 years. Good luck outthere.

    @DieCash I watched your other video about error cars and I have a really strange one. It’s the Slide Street FD Nissan 400Z, but it has the blue mainline 400Z in the package. I found this at my Walmart and I have a store picture to prove it. Can you tell me if this happens a lot, because ai am not sure what to do.

    • @DieCashCars
      @DieCashCars  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Unfortunately sounds like someone swapped out the premium for a mainline. That’s too extreme of an error for Mattel to actually have goofed up on. If i was you I’d just go back to the store, explain what’s wrong and return it

    • @RSTR_GHO5T
      @RSTR_GHO5T 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@DieCashCars ok thank you because I that it could be an error since that the casting for that car culture 400Z has the body style as the mainline. It doesn’t look like anything on the card had been tampered with, but like you said, there are some pretty talented customizers out there

    I've been hesitant to use whatnot because the actual costs aren't shown, and it's a bit confusing. If I agree to a 1.50-2 car or two, I basically unknowingly signed up to 5-8 a car which is way off and not worthwhile at all. I wish there were more established systems where it would state the shipping terms, and allow you to have shipments put on hold even across multiple days of streams until you can rack up a couple dozen so the proportional shipping cost is drastically lower. My main worry is if I bought a cheap car or two, that the seller would end the stream or move to different cars that I didn't want or were too expensive, and then I would be stuck with the high shipping cost on only a couple cheap cars.

  • @jasonmoses6207

    I think you left out of your reckoning the various costs of finding the cars in the first place, including the time spent, gas, and maintaining your car. Mind you, I'm never impressed when scalpers cite those costs, but since you seem to be going for a total costs/profits analysis...
    I would add as an item of advice: It seems to be a good idea to have a "wifey", or the equivalent: Someone who is keeping track of sales, stacking up piles, etc. in the background.

    Does the breakdown of profit include your time sourcing products to sell?

    • @DieCashCars
      @DieCashCars  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, these are cars I’ve collected casually, no special trips or anything - didn’t even know I was going to be on WHATNOT when I bought these lol. But you are correct if I made special trips and incurred other costs to acquire these cars I would have added them into the overall cost.

      @@DieCashCarsyou probably also didn't include the time involved in packaging either. Just to keep the orders organized, packed, and labeled accurately is very time consuming. That was probably the hardest part for me when I was selling. Just my personal opinion.

    The fees are like buying a 2$ car on a show it ends up being like 10$

    • @motov8-garage832
      @motov8-garage832 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The only fee is shipping pretty much for the buyer. Then the shipping has a cap of like 8 to 10 dollars give or take from what I’ve seen buying 7 orders now. ( that’s 1/64 stuff) obviously larger item jumps it up twice that)
      That’s why I don’t buy just one or two cars (unless I just have to have it😅).
      I typically don’t buy cars unless I see that they have several that I want.
      We bought about 30 cars from this one guy, most were carded. The shipping was only like 8 or 9$.
      I honestly couldn’t believe the shipping was that cheap for that much stuff in one good sized box.
      He even individually wrapped them in bubble wrap.
      I kinda felt bad for the guy because I think in the end he had to loose money on shipping. Maybe not but I couldn’t ship a box that big at that weight for that cheap.

      After you reach the 8$ mark from a single seller it's worth it if you plan to buy in bulk
