- It’s a new year and that means new tips for whatnot! In 2023 we grossed over $200,000 and 27,000 solds on whatnot and with a lot of trial and error we have some tips to help you grow and sell as well!

I have twice as many sales on whatnot as I do followers. Just broke 1k sales last night. Getting better at selling, already a sourcing beast.

Do you start at a $1? It’s my 4th show and I noticed that doing $1 sales when there is only like 5 people is not a good idea.
My low starts are 2-10 dollars, once I have a few spenders in the show I test the dollar start sudden death waters out. Alot of times if I schedule my show a few days out and load my buy it nows up with pictures plus items I plan on auctioning with a decent asking price and I'll make 5-10 sales before the show even starts. I mainly sell jewelry and watches, I have done well with electronics as well when I have a pile of video game stuff or computer parts saved up.

I did the same thing and bought $1 items to sell and it literally took me from 800 to 1000 in just 2-3 shows.

Thanks for the info, I just started doing whatnot 3 weeks ago and my main focus was to break even my first show. I noticed that i started having more consistent buyers week by week and sales nearly tripled since my first show since i focused a more on sourcing. Curation is a big part of the sales aspect, I mainly do women contemporary’s and still learning more every show

Great info! I have my first show scheduled for tomorrow. Question- When you list your "Buy it Now's", do you enter them each individually, if they're the same product? Is there a way to copy it as a new listing for Buy it Now? Also, how many would you put in each show? Thanks!

You'd be surprised! We were the same but consistency has been the key. Same selling schedule and do it for weeks so it's established for yourself. You gotta do u first so you're supporting your own schedule increasing confidence and reliability. U can do it!
Great Video. I am a thrifted clothing wholesaler. I sell to resellers and shop at the bins. I have tried WN several times but haven't been consistent. Thank you for all the tips. One Question??? I see that some are not numbering their items and was told that WN is now snapshotting each sold so you know what to ship to what buyer. Is this something that you are doing to avoid the listing in advance? what are you thoughts on this?
We enter the item description that was when it’s time to shop the manifest shows each title of what sold to who. We aren’t fans of the number system
Iv been killing it the last 3 months the only thing I can’t figure out is how to do a 3 day auction I see a lot of ppl doing like 3 day auctions and I started on whatnot with 0 followers and I don’t use anything else im over 1,700 sales in less then 4 months
Hello. So duration auctions are for marketplace listings, so when you create a listing, upload photos, it should give you those options. From what I know its still in beta so might not be available to everyone

I feel like a big part of Whatnot is presentation, what kind of camera would you suggest streaming with? I'm using OBS as I feel like there are a ton of features I can use with it to make the live enjoyable and profitable.

Our favorite boxes! They’re the 12x12x8 or “box # 7” when you go to usps free shipping supplies you can order 500 at a time!

How much do you recommend a label printer
Must have! Tons of them on Amazon under $80 that are wireless and Bluetooth. Don’t need to overpay for a rollo when they’re all made from the same sweatshop in China!

We do a small giveaway “credit” to start the show just to welcome everyone in and then we have some on deck incase a big tip or a big raid but besides that no

I am approved as a seller and am nervous. I have been reselling for over 25 years, but, the live and even the computer part of it makes me throw up in my mouth! How did you get over that fist time nerves?? What should I try. I sell garage sale/ estate sale type items. ANYTHING that is legal.
I’ve been a touring musician since high school so going in front of people is easy for me. But we have some great tips videos for whatnot as well! You got this!

Buyers are leaving Whatnot even more. If you get damaged, wrong or defective items good luck getting your money back. Just say stick with more serious marketplaces, this one is a joke.
People sell shit on all platforms. Be a smarter buyer
@@FlipTheWorldtx Exactly, gotta think before you buy on any platform. There's always gonna be shitty sellers no matter where you go.
Stay Away From Whatnot is my advice. Bad for buyers and sellers. Changing clasps to different designers, sourcing from Temu, adding new "vintage looking" pieces in with supposed estate lots. Items arriving broken or not at all. I try not to get WN involved in those cases but when the sellers encourage me to, I receive a full refund...not just on 1 piece, but the whole order. Then the sellers hate you! Sellers buying back and forth from each other. It's an expensive social event. Wanted to support women owned businesses, but I'm done. Overpriced everything you can buy on eBay with a guarantee for much less. I should do a psa. Dogs barking, cats and kids sitting on display tables...it's a hot mess.
Sounds like in your own words when you had an issue whatnot resolved it fully. So….seems like a win to me.
