Great explanation of Springbank’s distillation process. Haven’t tried one yet as they prices in my area are quite inflated, but it is definitely on my list...😁
Congrats on 200! I'll join others in commending you on explaining the 2,5 distillations in a way that I'm sure could have been a lot more complicated. And add that you can never go wrong with a Springbank.
Great vid Vin, very informative, I'm yet to try a springbank, will have to now after watching this, congrats on all the milestones you've reached recently👍
@@NoNonsenseWhisky furthermore if you have the chance to visit the distillery you must give it a go! went there last year and it was worth every minute!
Happy 200th Vin! Definitely worth cracking open the Springbank 18. While I do love this one, I have a hard time picking up another bottle...not bc it’s hard to find but bc of the price & how many other Springbank/longrow expressions I spend $$ on. The 12 CS i always keep on hand & is $90, the 15 I like as well & its $110, then there’s always special releases like the Local Barley, Longrow Red, and Single Casks that go from $100-180+. So after getting all those, it’s hard to drop another $200 on the 18
Nice one Vin. 200 already - I never saw that coming. I remember your very first vlogs. You are drinking the 2018 release of Springbank 18 which is an unusual one because it is ex-bourbon and no sherry cask at all. Springbank 18 nearly always has some sherry influence. I have a bottle of it (£89) and I'm a little underwhelmed. It's good stuff but I think I prefer Hazelburn 10 (similar ex-bourbon) at half the price.
Great video and information Vin. Do you think the Springbank 18 is worth $180? That's what it sells for in Florida. I love the 12 CS. Thought their 10 was so so. Thought about trying the 18, but it's damn expensive. Anyway just wondering if you think it's worth it. Cheers.
🤔 that is an awful lot of money. But I do have to say I highly doubt you’ll be disappointed. Might be worth trying to find a bar or something that has it and plump for a dram first?
Great review Vin. Im a big fan of the 18, just a tip though, this one should really not be judged from the bottleneck, oxidation will improve it a lot, more so than most bottles ive tried.

That's a shame. Here they're not exactly cheap but we'll priced. Worth the punt if you ever decide to pull the trigger!
Congratulations on your 200th review! and Springbank 18--what a great choice!
Thanks! I'm glad I get to try stuff like this

Cheers! I always feel a bit weird when I’m doing an ‘educational’ bit but looks like I pulled it off this time!
Good one. Interesting description of the distillation process. Congrats on your 200th.
Cheers Bill 🥃🥃
Cheers, man! Love seeing all your numbers climb!
Thanks man! Me too 😊😂
Congrats on the 200 Vin, i do watch ur reviews before i buy my whiskeys, great work mate!!!
That's great to hear! Hopefully they help!
Great stuff Vin. Keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing the next 200 revs😉
Cheers man! I'll keep making em if people keep watching!
Good review! Springbank has been quite rare here, but I see it showing up on shelves more often as time goes on...
It's great to hear their starting to appear! One of my favourites now
'Tis indeed a lovely dram. Congrats on the 200 reviews!
Cheers Al 🥃🥃

I hope you can try some Springbank, I doubt you'll be unimpressed!
this whisky is divine! everything springbank bring out is delicious, can' t go wrong with SB...
Completely agree! I certainly haven't tried a bad one yet!

I think if I ever do a trip to Islay I'll include a campbeltown stop off 👌
that‘s what we did, really worth it!
Congrats Vin! Have this 2018 version , haven’t opened yet but will soon. Cheers
I can't say how it compares to previous ones, but I was impressed 👌

I hear you. At this point I rarely buy a bottle twice. I'm always looking to try something I haven't had before!
Congrats Vin!

massive whisky the Springbank 18 is. Love it, but oh the price makes it a very rare indulgence. Cheers!!
Definitely. It’s likely I won’t trying it again for some time now!
Happy 200!
Yay! 😊

Have no fear, this sample wasn't drawn from the bottle neck
Well done Vin
Thanks Mark!
Damn the secondary market. Cheers 🥃
For sure 🥃🥃
Nice review. I also have never had a bad Springbank. Hope I never do. 🥃🥃
I pray we never will!
After sipping on 3 bottles off the shelf I often have to ask myself if it's the camera focusing or me.
😂😂 my camera had a mind of its own back then. I've fixed it now
Hey Vin: I thought I heard you say no sherry influence in Springbank 18yo? The Distillery claims 80% sherry and 20% bourbon?!?!
Love Springbank but can't handle the price increases at the moment. This bottle is $245US where I'm at.
That is utterly insane. I could take a small increase when it's in a rare area or something but that's a bullshit price!
I picked up a bottle of both the 10yo and the 18yo. I don't get the hype, not a fan.
That's a shame but each to their own! The beautiful thing about whisky is the broad diversity!
You spelt Springbank wrong ..
Oh wow good catch! I can't believe no one's noticed that before 😂
Love all springbank and longrow!
So far, me too! I still haven’t tried a hazelburn though
@@NoNonsenseWhisky I've had a few and was underwhelmed but they might speak to you.
I don't mind tripled distilled stuff usually. Soon enough I'll get to it
Trust kill Hazelburn 13 Oloroso is wonderful. Give it a go.
