Love your channel legenvd. Even if all the decks aren't my taste your incredibly consistent, well thought out andyou clearly explain everything you do, and I love that you use jank and then make it actually playable. I somehow manage to get educated on how to play magic while being entertained xD Little details like excellent timestamps every video also really help make the experience!
@@maddose4232 Not necessarily. It's objectively a strong card. Nonland removal, power increase, ward AND lifelink. Would see play even if monored wasn't crazy popular.
Oh hell yeah!!! I just started playing this deck yesterday! I love bogles in pauper so I keep a tab on bogle like creatures in standard, I used to run a terrible bogles attmpt using the 2 mana hexproof cryptomancer but it's just too slow.
The set has some great uncommons. Nowhere to Run is one of my favourites. Instant speed -3/-3 plus turning off ward and hexproof has provided some amazing value for me in games
Yeah entchantments is really strong again with the new 2 white auras. I've been personally doing the Boris Aggro Entchantment and it's super effective - especially against mono red and the like.
Is there any chance of you presenting BO3 decks on this channel? I understand the want to play BO1 to get a better variety of opponents, but with Rx decks completely dominating BO1 right now, you would probably get more variety with fewer matches in BO3. It's just that almost all games being against the slot machine Rx decks gets a little repetitive, and I'd love to hear the thorough analysis you always provide for all your decisions being applied to sideboarding. Even if it were just a once-a-week series, that would be really cool and likely very educational. Regardless, I still love your content and will continue being a fan. Much love
Recorded this video over a week ago, the metagame has since become a little more diverse. So hopefully there will be more than just monored in upcoming videos!
Out of curiosity, why 4x Shardmage's Rescue and 2x Royal Treatment? Royal Treatment seems better at first glance, given that the Royal enchantment token gives Ward 1.
Is there any viability in an Azorius enchantment deck, where Teferi Temporal Pilgrim is the win con? Using Entity Tracker with Hallway Creeper, Sheltered by Ghosts, Enduring Curiousity, ect? Or would it be too slow?
Long goodbye is prolly the best removal against this deck, since it kills any creature with mana value 3 or less and says this spell cant be countered. But thats probably a card for the sideboard
the oponent had 2 options like lvd said, either slam atraxa and hope not to be removed or remove lvd only treat, he made is decision and ended up being the wrong one
u prolly can switch it with any 3 mana removal probably an instant or something with flash, if u have rares u can put an haven interruptor to counter sweepers or any game changing play the oponent can make, and do a tempo play, that usually works in this types of decks
Recorded this over a week ago, now that Aura decks are more popular you can certainly expect to face more of them. In my opinion it's still worse than Anoint with Affliction for beating the monored decks, so if you don't have any particular synergies with either card it will be a choice based on your metagame prediction.
@@LegenVD for sure, I keep seeing crazier decks by the day. A card that seems underrated, but I find a lot of joy in using is the sticktwister. I just haven't found a way to buff his power up quickly to possibly get a one shot kill but definitely dangerous with multiple copies in play. Thanks for the reply and love the vids broski!
Definitely a consideration! Whether that means adding Calix and Audacity to the Boros deck or adding Etali’s Favor and Demonic Ruckus to the Selesnya deck I’m not quite sure. There’s a lot of ways to build the Aura decks.
I think the leyline mono red deck is so boring because it reminds me of tibalt trickery decks from past standard. They either have the turn 2 kill or they just fold to the first interaction you cast, just incredibly uninteresting to play out
Not always. The Royal Treatment auras don't stack, while Rescue does. In this deck where having a Ward 4 creature is not hard, I could the case in favor of Rescue.
@@ender4101 True but still prefer the ward 1. I play this deck a lot and I've not been often in the situation of using two RT in the same creature. Even in that case, the opponent must pay the ward before you use your second RT. During the first turns at least, one mana can make a huge difference, meaning that your creature survives one more turn, and compared to SR you only lose a +1/+1.
I actually think its a very toxic card because Black already has edicts and is insanely strong in Standard as is, so effectively removing any protection except rare forms such as, well, protection and phasing is too much and further punishes archetypes such as this which aren't even top tier. Its bad enough that all the exile removal has made "Indestructable" a worthless keyword.
It feels weird looking at this deck without Buried in the Garden & 3 Blind Mice like everyone is doing. Would you say the deck is more consistent without them?
Last game was a perfect example why magic is basicially a dead game. No interactions, 5 lands in play (from both players), just buffing stupid 1 drops. Bad games
This thumbnail is exactly how a janky creature's face looks when it's gotten high on auras
Red players really struggle with the new first strike mechanic introduced only a few decades ago. Thanks for the content. Great work man.

Glad you like them!
Bruh the match count is already telling me things.
Watching dollar store bogles induce scoops from RDW provides a lot of value
A moment of silence for the red opponent who finally learned how First Strike works
not needed, his 2 braincells are still trying to figure it out
@@zeredj57 That's exactly why that player needs the minute of silence. Don't overstimulate those poor brain cells.
Hahahaha. Just shows you how bad mono red is that trash players like that can rank up. Requires absolutely 0 skill
"I don't get it, I played all the spells on the slickshot just like they told me to. Why didn't I win?"
29:27 for the painful lesson, lol
I think the mono red aggro players played more leylines than mountains in this video.
5:14 "Opponent starts with ____, which means we could be dead next turn" is such a cursed line
Impressive how oppressive Red is now!
Equally impressive when this deck makes them scoop early.
When else would mono red scoop? In the late game no ones going to get too?
Sheltered by ghosts is so strong
Calix is ridiculous value too
I only realized recently it doesn't hit only creatures. Absurd that it's a real O-ring.

Sheltered by ghosts is such a ridiculously powerful uncommon. 😂

Nice, your build is only like 2 cards different from my build. Just a hand full of games but of course the LVD list is doing better so far.
Yeah entchantments is really strong again with the new 2 white auras. I've been personally doing the Boris Aggro Entchantment and it's super effective - especially against mono red and the like.
i have played against this a couple times already. people really don't read the line of text on the black -3/-3 thay blanks ward
I thought to myself "who in the world doesn't know how first strike works at this rank?" And then I remembered: oh right, a monored player 😂
classic mono red
Probably autopiloting and didn't read the card. Many such cases.
You could see him mousing over LVD's cards during the last turn trying to figure out what happened, lol
Everyone has been a beginner. It means LVD's mmr is very low.
People have triple blocked my Glissa Sunslayer several times....leading to 3 dead blockers for no good reason.
Great deck mate! Love your stuff as always. =)
And with the way the shuffler works I get paired against every "Nowhere to Run" deck
The absolute state of bo1 at 39:55 and again at 41:15 lol

Good deck. Just won 2 games with it already lol
Tried this deck immediately oppo played sheoldreds edict
yea that or long goodbye
Nowhere to Run also annihilates this deck and it should be run against red anyways
I started playing more BO3 mostly because of decks like this... post board they're quite manageable.
Match 8 opponent was persistent in throwing away spells into that first striker…
Out of curiosity, why 4x Shardmage's Rescue and 2x Royal Treatment? Royal Treatment seems better at first glance, given that the Royal enchantment token gives Ward 1.
The role tokens don't stack on the same creature, so Rescue is better in multiples, especially relevant with Calix.
@@LegenVD Ahh, 100% valid - hadn't thought of copying. Thanks for the answer!
Haven't played MTG in like 2 years and just watching the cheese red decks can do at turn 2 is given me vicarious salt.

17 matches he was cooking
So good to see a life total just climb against mono red.

Why 4 copies of shardmage rescue but only two of royal treatment? Isn't the royal role just a strict upgrade?
Royal treatment dont stack
Standard BO1 is so stupid these days :/ Every game a coin flip
There should just be a mono red game mode
It's called Standard Ranked !

The amount of mono red that consistently get leyline in the opening hand is telling of how arenas algorithm is absolutely BS.

I must admit the red black game made me turn off the video… the idea that in standard for 2 mana you can do 20 damage… it’s just ridiculous.
Kind of a shame that Nowhere to Run hoses this deck hard. Not sure how I feel about that.
Match 7 was rigged by RNGsus
Kind of surprised there's no Hunter's Talent, or Case of the Gateway Express for extra removal that doesn't rely on Sheltered by Ghosts.
Bogles tends to focus more on pumping the Bogle for aggro kills. If you have too much removal and not enough pump auras, it makes aggro kills harder.
How would case make any sense, case its only efective on a go wide strategy this is an aura deck who tends to go all in, in 1 creature..
@@maddose4232 True, your right, case isn't actually a good inclusion. I could see Hunter's Talent though, since it also pumps the creature as well.
