40:00 Completely agree with the fact that layline was not the reason the deck was strong, it just added to it. The deck was already strong and killing on turn 3
Yes you should watch the original Ghostbusters, absolute classic Also you should play one copy of Altanak every time you have 3 or more Say its Name in the deck, the opportunity cost is very low
32:20 Seth, I believe you're referring to the 'Soul' cycle of Avatar creatures from M15, which included Soul of New Phyrexia as you mentioned, along with 'Souls' for several other planes: Theros, Ravnica, Innistrad, Shandalar, and Zendikar.
Soul of New Phyrexia is a pretty good card imo. Indestructible to everything is really good, especially if you're playing a deck that doesn't have access to a lot of indestructible effects, like green.
Can't wait for you to make a Blues Brothers deck, then drop in the comments you've never seen Blues Brothers - and the followup TV themed deck, where you reveal you've never actually seen a real TV in your life. Always enjoy the jank, keep it up.
Everyone says Ghostbusters, but Luigi has a literal vacuum that sucks up ghosts. The Ghostbusters have a trap used in conjunction with the proton beams to inhibit movement. Just saying lol
22:55 not seeing Ghostbusters is like being a New Yorker who's never eaten Pizza something that should never exist. yes for the love of God watch Ghostbusters
I have to agree with Seth, standard feels very good and has for a little while now. I'm very surprised at how decent Duskmourn turned out to be and overall, even though sets like Thunder Junction and Murders were kind of meh, standard as a whole has been good
That was insane. I wish my forges lasted as long as his vacuums did. I’d be very curious how many games he cut out because the vacuum got destroyed without doing anything.
Well peoples threat assessment on Ghost vacuum is far more skewed than Urabrask Forge which everyone’s played for nearly a year now. Not a lot of people use ghost vacuum so a lot of people don’t realize it’s good
The audio over the silent portion of the opening graphic felt so cool. You wouldn't need to add an actual video before it every time but I think it would be cool to have some soundbyte play over it in the same way, a clip from previous gameplay of you saying "boilerbiggles" or similar. Idk it was just so crisp and dopaminey
I feel like a lot of Seth's decks have involved relying on the graveyard. It would be cool to have one of those "alternative deck" sideboards where you convert the graveyard plan into some other deck to deal with turn 1 leylines and such. EDIT: I should mention I love this deck lol graveyard shenanigans rule I just know how it feels to get leyline wiped.
I would suggest running Wrenn and Realmbreaker - perhaps a couple instead of two of the mill spells. It's two mill 3s for 3 mana so more efficient, it can add some board presence if you really need, and it'll probably draw aggro which gives you some respite. Ultimately whether you play it or mill it, it's another card type that makes getting to 6 easier for the Flytrap. Source: one of my best brews recently is based around Flytrap, ideally putting the counters on an Osseous Sticktwister since that starts creating an impossible choice for the opponent as well as just attacking as a huge lifelinker. There's Insidious Roots and Bristly Billiam as backup (since Roots puts counters on all plants, and Bill is obvious), and Overlord of Balemurk does a lot of the milling. Wrenn helps a lot.
The ‘soul of ‘insert plane’’ are the cycle you were thinking of from M15 (which were trash) The cavalier cycle from M20 were decent. Though the green one is the only one which sees real play now
The Ghostbusters movies worth watching in this order are: Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters 2: secret of the Ooze, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. These are definitely worth the watch. Absolutely great movies.
crime cards like magda or freestrider lookout might be cool in this deck because you can pretty consistently commit crimes with the ghost vacuum which is kinda sick.
If you want to learn about Ghostbusters, I can only recommend Mr Sunday Movie's videos on the topic, particularly through their Caravan of Garbage episode on it and it's sequels.
OG Ghostbusters is absolutely worth watching. Also, Seth, I'm watching ancient episodes of Commander Clash right now, so I need to konw; Have you watched the John Wick movies yet?
Also given the deck does care about delirium, I think I'd play Haywire Mite over Tranquil Frillback straight up. Two types, sacs itself, gains life even if it just chumps, overall much cheaper. You have enough graveyard hate already (lol)
Gotta say, if you’re running 4 Say Its Name and milling ANYWAY, it seems sort of like a free roll to just run a single Altanak just in case you wind up with 3 in the yard.
if you play 4 say its name anyway one altanak would be kind of a free be back up plan that synergies with the ghost vacuum plan… maybe go down a plant for it
Loving Ghost Vacuum. I'm running it in a Golgari Crimes list, since it's a 1 mana repeatable graveyard-hating win-conish Crime Machine. It wrecks Azorius Mentor, Mosswood Dreadknight, All the Enduring Creatures, Zoraline, Aclazotz, Unstoppable Slasher, Say Its Name, Altanak, the Thrice-Called, Basically all of Gruul Delerium, any form of Reanimation. Great card
As to your question about watching Ghostbusters. There are 3 movies well worth watching. The OG 1&2 as well as Afterlife. In my opinion the remake/reboot is ok if a little cringe for the gender swap.
Damn it Saffron Olive, im trying to use Ghost Vacuum in my pioneer crime deck and they're out of stock on mana traders. And then I stumble onto this video...
I feel like you should always be playing Altanak as a one of if you're playing four Say Its Names, just as a way of high-rolling into an easy win
Plus it's not like it's a dead draw in this deck either. The discard and ramp works really well with what the deck wants to do.
fully agree. Cache grab just feels objectively better in this deck the way it is now
yea I agree
Boilerbiggles is back baby!
Mr. Bigglesworth is on the job !
I love Seth mispronouncing everything. It's why I'm here.
"Have we ever seen a card like this that is graveyard hate but can also win you the game?"
Are we just forgetting about Agatha's Soul Cauldron?
And Unlicensed Hearse
Also Dino DNA? Slow and not in Arena but similar to the vacuum
Yeah, seriously lol. Lion Sash isn’t even bad, if we’re listing out ones that could technically win you the game.
cauldron needs another creature to win. So does Hearse
Sad Scooze noises
9:25 Agatha's soul cauldron literally enabling all the combo kills everywhere 👁👄👁
Everytime Seth says Brotherhoods End he finds a new place to put the S
“sbrotherhood end”
~ seth, probably
Brothershood end
Brotherhoodends
Brotherhood send
Brother's Hood-end
40:00 Completely agree with the fact that layline was not the reason the deck was strong, it just added to it. The deck was already strong and killing on turn 3

Yeah like with self mill it's going to be ramp even if you can't play it.
I would say all of the Ghostbuster movies except the weird reboot with the gender-swapped team are worth watching.
@@seanheath4492 Most of it is mediocre schlock. The original was all that was ever needed.
@@kylegonewild I enjoyed all of them (except the aforementioned gender-swapped reboot attempt).
I'm a simple woman. I hear the word "Boilerbiggles," I smash that like button
Boilerbiggles lol 😂
I die alittle inside
I just woke up and I read that as "I'm a single woman" and I was super confused XD
Ah yes, Mrs. piggle biggles
Overlord of the Bilbo Baggins
Overlord of the Bob The Builders
OERLORD OF THE BOJUKA BOGS
32:20 Seth, I believe you're referring to the 'Soul' cycle of Avatar creatures from M15, which included Soul of New Phyrexia as you mentioned, along with 'Souls' for several other planes: Theros, Ravnica, Innistrad, Shandalar, and Zendikar.
Also isn't Uro and Kroxa technically Titans? Those are pretty bonkers broken.
Soul of New Phyrexia is a pretty good card imo. Indestructible to everything is really good, especially if you're playing a deck that doesn't have access to a lot of indestructible effects, like green.
@@bobwilson679perhaps in Commander, but it didn't really do anything in standard.
20:09 nice job editor
"WoOoOoh boy!"
I came here to comment on this. 😂
A fellow man of class im working on a luigis mansion deck around this
It looks more like the Luigi’s mansion vacuum as well lol
It's a set based on 80s horror so it will 100% be Ghostbusters.
Respectfully Luigi’s vacuum is obviously based on ghostbusters so I think it’s a moot point
@@lesternomo6578 miyamoto explicitly said it’s not taking inspiration from ghostbusters and was mostly following resident evil
Yes, it’s worth watching Seth.
Ah yes, my favorite enchantment, ghost vacuum 0:33
INCORRECT. Your favorite enchantment is Biggles.
I have been a day one ghost gun believer, it insane. Having a flying preacher or slasher is so fun
Yes you need to see ghostbusters
22:55 not seeing Ghostbusters is like being a New Yorker who's never eaten Pizza something that should never exist. yes for the love of God watch Ghostbusters
I believe that "CanaFeet" is a joke in portuguese, meaning "pé de cana", wich means someone who drinks Cachaça (brazilian distilled spirit) a lot.
Eu já tava quase postando a mesma coisa... Kkk

Every time I see this card I celebrate a little "The Biggles!"
Thanks Seth.
As a Ghostbusters omega fan, I was so excited to see ghost vacuum in previews. I want to see a Ghostbusters spirit commander deck now.
"Head slap"
Absolutely worth watching OG ghost busters
I have to agree with Seth, standard feels very good and has for a little while now. I'm very surprised at how decent Duskmourn turned out to be and overall, even though sets like Thunder Junction and Murders were kind of meh, standard as a whole has been good

Unlicensed Hearse.
That etali spin was so good it probably made them craft carnisaurs after
You need a Bill Murray night. Ghostbusters, Stripes, and Caddyshack. Must watches.
Groundhog day
Quick Change is a Bill Murry must watch.
48:28 Because the Phyrexian mana on Jace is blue and they only had one blue source

Original Ghostbusters is one of the greatest films of all time. Great story, some great one liners and should be a must see for everyone
You miss that spicy one of thunderhulk reanimation possibility for max dmg
Also to mention: fomori vault to get that pesky artifact into the yard!
I watched the OG Ghostbusters last year. Definitely worth watching at least once. I enjoyed it. 🤷♂️
Ghost vacuum plus Delaney and some CRAZY ETBs like that would be insane! I WOULD NOT MIND a remake of this video with different janky silly cards
This is the coolest standard deck you’ve played in a while!
Yes, original Ghostbusters is still worth watching.
There are other versions?
@@TheyCallMeDiothe extreme ghostbusters cartoon was also lit.

Yes, it is very worth to watch. The first 2 are really good comedies/action movies.
Hearing Seth say boilerbiggles is the highlight of my day.
39:25 "Screw it, we're sideboarding out the namesake of the deck"
Based off the last few decks u have played seems like main deck graveyard hate might be necessary for the meta
OG ghostbusters is my favorite movie ever. Get on it Seth.
Love this as someone who pulled off something very similar in Prerelease
The audio over the silent portion of the opening graphic felt so cool. First Ghostbusters is fun. Ghost Vacuum is awesome. I'm surprised at no FOMO here. Gruulirium sounds fun.
I feel like a lot of Seth's decks have involved relying on the graveyard. It would be cool to have one of those "alternative deck" sideboards where you convert the graveyard plan into some other deck to deal with turn 1 leylines and such.

Omg Saffron you need to watch the original Ghostbusters! Timeless classic
22:00 just attack with the plant for 20 damage. It forces them to block and then you have two blockers back
Hands down the spiciest brew I've seen this set 🙌🔥
22:38 it is worth watching. It’s a well-made movie, with a tight script and great actors. Definitely recommend
Ah, the "Soul of ____" cycle from M15, I believe is what you are talking about at 32:40
U can use both effects of the vacuum in the same turn, u tap it exile and sac to return another creature
Super fun to watch
The ‘soul of ‘insert plane’’ are the cycle you were thinking of from M15 (which were trash)
The cavalier cycle from M20 were decent. Though the green one is the only one which sees real play now
I love when he says boilerbigles. Makes me laugh every time
Could also be a bate to get you to use your removal on the bat so they can play another threat. I've done that before.
The Ghostbusters movies worth watching in this order are: Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters 2: secret of the Ooze, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. These are definitely worth the watch. Absolutely great movies.

The New Ghostbusters (animated series), yes.

Ah yes, Ghost Vacuum my beloved
The original "Ghostbusters" is a perfect film, and the only one in the entire franchise worth watching.
You absolutely need to watch Ghostbusters 1 and Ghostbuster 2. The others are whatever but the original two are must watch.
OG Ghostbusters is absolutely worth watching. Also, Seth, I'm watching ancient episodes of Commander Clash right now, so I need to konw; Have you watched the John Wick movies yet?

Yes Seth, you should watch the OG Ghostbusters
