Even as a Bears fan I have the utmost respect for Jerry. He was a hell of a coach, a tough no BS standup guy. He was perfect for the old NFC Central

Burnsie and that Viking crew sure rocked the 49ers in 87' playoffs when the 49ers were in their prime! I loved ole Burnsie and he made me a Vikings fan at a very early age!

Burns was a good coach! There is no quesfuck about it! It was GM Mike Lynn who pulled the trigger on the disastrous Herschel Walker trade without consulting the coaching staff.

Went to high school with one of Jerry’s kids. Some Vikings players sometimes played basketball at school. RIP Coach.

I Love this Man!! RIP Burnsie. As a child of the 80's I looked up to Bud Grant and then of course Jerry Burns. I will never forget what they meant to Minnesota. Just wished Burnsie would have been promoted in 1984 instead of Steckle

Coaches like him are a thing of the past
Sadly it’s true. He was just a normal not flashy guy coaching some very good teams.
