Wow I am really surprised to discover the $800plus light bar was better made than the $20 something one. I thought for sure they would at least be equal. Next thing you know your gonna tell me that with all that snow at the homestead it has been cold
Very informative especially the part about determining if it was painted or not. That shot of inside the screw pocket and seeing the over spray really answered a lot of questions. Thanks for the comprehensive review and being an expert on light bars. That paint determination process really helped my future buying habits. Can you do a unboxing of the instruction manual and the thickness of the pages? Thanks
This video should have been: looks new lights, open box, timelapse of them being installed, look at the light pattern and heres what I think of them as lights and how the install process was. End.
Congrats on the lights. I can’t afford them and have no viable use for them anyway. Can we talk walls and roof? RV in your garage and some doors on that box? . I watched the timber frame videos with great interest. Even when you wisely outsourced the exterior plumbing to the septic tank... That stuff matters much more than product comparisons, at least to me. I think the vids out of order bug me more than anything. Good luck, stay warm.
While we wait for the spring thaw can we have a page by page review of that sweet backhoe maintenance service manual? Huh, can we please, huh, can we ???
I'm not sure if I'm more annoyed with the complete lack of focus on posting to youtube as you appear to be months behind, or that you've done yet another unboxing vid where you spend 34 minutes without a reveal on what the lights are. Learn to summarise. Also, these are LIGHTS, you really should focus on that. You don't compare two cameras by their housing and straps then leave out the part where you actually use them.
Any idea when ACTUAL house videos will be posted. All these infomercials and small task videos are getting old. 34 minutes about lights?....Maybe by next winter forget the sled, maybe there will be actual house videos......Just saying
i got a cree light bar for my semi truck 4 years ago. its mounted right above my windshield. its been thru -30 snow storms, 120 degree weather in the AZ deserts and has been on my truck for over 200K miles of cross country trucking. It cost 230 on line with the switch.
Those hi end lites are critical now that you are a top contender in the desert racing, backhoe class, if you are only going to push snow and dig dirt, not so much.
Come on now dude, what is this dross? This is not entertainment. We put up with your patronising tone and juvenile thumbnails and endless monologues but this drivel is insulting to your viewers. Yes we can, and do regularly ffd or skip videos that don't appeal, but take constructive criticism and stop this type of crap. If you have nothing to post videos about, take a break rather than posting mince. Even your most ardent of followers have their limits.
A little tip if I may. Those lights you have there, they are 12 volt or 24 volt DC. Your Battery bank that has solar panels. Yup! That is what I did at my house. My yard lights on my house are 12 Volt Auto LED Lights. They run off my battery bank when I switch them on. I used regular 110volt AC house switches, because the switches are inside my house. The switches are rated for use up to a max voltage 120 volts at Home Depot 10 pack is less than $5. They do not care if it is AC or DC and 12 or 24 volts is way... way... way below their max rating. I have been using them for about 5 years now, here in Florida and they still work as good as day one. When Hurricane Irma came and power was out for over a week, we had lights. I even installed a few inside for 12 volt backup lighting.
I am retired General Contractor assistant. 120 volt 15 amp is at zero risk of being overloaded by a 12 volt LED light. Do the math, and you will see it is way... way... way below the max rating of the switch. The little 49 cent switch is 120 volts 15 amps, some more expensive are rated for up to 288 volts.
The cooling fins are for cooling. Not sure how they will become damaged driving in the bush unless you are perhaps driving in reverse, fast, with perhaps the light bar in some weird position.....?
1000 bucks. New light, or a new gun. Uhhhhh, I guess a new gun this time. Thanks for the review. I know you guys don’t read these, but I decided to comment after a few years of watching.
This video was boring, fell a sleep. Normally great video’s but this unboxing pffff. Talk about de differences between the lights, then mount them and show it.
I pretty much stopped watching Wranglerstar, because he turned into consumer reports. Test all the stuff you want off camera, pick the one that's best, and show the installation and tell us why you picked it. Then get back to building the house and your site. I'm not watching for product reviews or tests.
Save your money, you can buy a lot of beer for the difference between the $25.00 light and the $900.00 light and the snow doesn’t care how many lumens you have or if your light is Baja rated.
i feel as though you guys have lost your way with all the extra money you are now bringing in. videos have gone down in quality (to many montages) and your unboxing videos should defiantly include a test of output.
I bought a Mictuning 32 inch curved light bar for $35 I put it on my quad and it's been smashed by trees and hit by flying rocks. It's still going strong
Anyone that would put a $1000 light bar on a piece of heavy equipment is just a moron.... This reminds me of the guys I see riding around in $1500 junker cars with $2000 worth of chrome rims.
No, you have to decide if you want to keep watching his vids.....This channel isn't only about building a house....and what ever gave you that impression.
I love their videos. Who cares if they don't always know what they're doing. That's half the fun. But this time they crossed the line. I couldn't finish knowing there wasn't a demo of the lights. I'm guessing the crazy expensive ones were better.
People knock on the cheap lights but i buy the cheap ebay lights and ive had mine for over 2 years and all 13 led bars/pods i have havent had any problems yet. And when i had 1 problem they sent me a new light bar 100% free. They work just as good!!!
Boy you can really tell he's getting paid to talk about the light. First time I ever wanted to punch him in the face, Lol. I couldn't even finish watching this crap!
When you run that 4X4 backhoe 70 mph across the desert or 40 mph on a mountain or swamp trail or at KOH, THEN I might listen to this dribble. Effective light range for YOUR working area. The fins are on the back side and unless you are backing at speed should not be getting hit. A $100,000 trophy truck capable of 120 mph running the Baja 1000 or Mint 400 requires a much higher quality light. 90% can buy the cheap light plus an onboard air compressor & winch ground anchor & wheel lift & isolated dual battery & SW radio & all the heavy duty weather tight fittings and switches you want. What is the practical decision?
Come on how who knows when a random tree will attack well plowing a road way. Or better yet ninja squirrels could attack the light. Never underestimate the power of ninja squeals and their inmate hate for 20" light bars.
After seeing your other LED videos I did the same thing on my ATV for snow plowing and it is awesome. I have them removable for when I work in the woods and don't want to damage them. Great video
I have often wondered Who actually falls for the Over, Way over priced LED lights... now i see. Now I want to see how you justify the 16 and 36 times cost and rationalize that somehow the light output is 16 or 36 times better... and the components that are in all those lights come from the Same country, so you can not claim some kind of reliability preference. as to build strength...? You are talking lighting here, it is Never going to be 36 times better built.
Baja designs assembles all their lights in house in Vancouver, WA. They are expensive but the build quality is well worth the money. The components used are far superior to the cheap Chinese shit in the lesser lights. The lenses used are far superior and produce a far more usable light pattern. Buy 10 of your cheap ass lights in a year and be happy. Or buy quality shit and be happy too.
I hoped they paid him at least a 2 g's if not more...if you have over 100, 000 subs that's what I earn on my Channel for product placement and advert vids...
You would be done plowing if you started when you came outside while the snow is warm and compactable. Do the lighting at night in the dark for the dramatic effect, hook them up and show the light against the hill side or trees for comparison.
do they have to wait for the snow to melt so the contractors can get there to finish up the house well at least you'll have $1,000 light to put on the back hoe and I'd have to say Alyssa did quite a great job of editing she only had to cut out 14 hours of commentary about 3 lights good job keep it up I don't know how much more I can watch
wouldn't moving the trailer into your new concrete walls and closing that big hole at the front end of the garage to keep the snow out, be a better idea than playing with lights ??
first, I suspect much of what you are seeing is more than a month old, second, until they have the roof and SIP panels up, I think that a leaking travel trailer under a leaking floor isn't going to be a good combination...
I always thought homesteading was working your butt off to live off grid and thrive. I never knew it involved people posting videos on youtube talking about things they don't know about. If you needed an upgrade or replacement part just buy the one you are going to use and stop wasting time and other people's money to buy stuff just to throw away after rambling about them for hours.
I love it the more money they make the happier it makes me to see a young couple be successful....I hope they start advertising their UT channel on their new Truck....How much money did you make in the last hour....Jesse just x10 what ever you make.
Border Reiver I am not moaning, simply expressing why I subscribed to this channel and what I would prefer to see this channel reverts back too.. why don't they either create another channel for reviews
Can you please do a complete analysis and comparison of rechargeable electric drills? And a complete in-depth engineering review of the complete range of available screw heads?
Andy, They're worried about putting a roof on incase it acts like a big sail and the timber takes off in a big wind. The timbers aren't really fixed down to the rest of the building it seems. But yes, it galls me too.. All that lovely wood soaking up all that horrible weather. Oiled or not, there's enough 'shakes' in a lot of the timbers to feed water right inside, it seems to me. ..
Since you’re passing the road to get rid of driveway snow you could add rotating orange warning lights on the top of your backhoe. Not sure what they’re called
Randi Owen not necessarily. Ive gone through a few lights on my 4runner. And same with my friend. And we both started with some cheap ones from Amazon then worked our way up to ones we have now that are around 500 to 600 depending on time of year. And mine came bundled. The cheaper versions didn't hold up to constant abuse from wind, rain, getting knocked around and jostled from driving, and after awhile the wiring either went bad, led wiring failed to the diode, customer support was huge for me, along with warranties. Usually if their is a problem it fails in a few months, but most dont cover it completely and a ton of other bs. The brand I use now integrates with tons of other things I can now get for the rack, canopy, side lights, and mounting systems. Ive had it for 2.5 years now and it is still going as brand new. Another thing to mention the one I have now is able to have the front glass plate replaced as it gets scratched when I go camping, bugs and rocks flying and hitting it, and low hanging trees. Some manufacturers don't make them worth it to change. Thats my opinion on cost to benefit on lights
Are you paid by Baja lights? I don’t mind, dare I say I like the product unboxing and reviews.... even fine with you getting paid for it. But try keeping the pace faster. Too deep and tedious on this one. See you in the next video.
Chuck Hutchison I appreciated it, big investment potentially, pays to know exactly what you're getting. And the benefits may not be obvious to everyone.
For the price difference vs light output I would go with the cheap ones hands down all day long. I can vouch for them being quite durable as well. Had one on my trail rig for a few years
Sorry but this seemed like a segment from HOME SHOPPING NETWORK.... Unbox the lights install them and turn them on... Not really interested in all the features....! Just Saying....
There are so many high priced items on the market, they are twice as good at ten times the cost. Certainly not worth paying so much for a light that doesn't offer video projection, music and artificial intelligence. So you could have purchased 30 of the cheap light bars to light up a whole neighborhood, or just one better quality for a back hoe only. What great street lights these could make. You could have purchased an 11,000 watt generator for what that one light costs. I wish I had your opperating budget.
Lack of views speaks volumes. With hundreds of other videos on lights...where they actually demonstrate the lights...are out there and have been for awhile. Your fan base wants house build videos. Not your opinion videos. Or “let’s refurbish a framing square” videos. House build. Go on hiatus until you start moving wood. And enough of the goofy face title shots. Jesse make a surprise face! Ok Alyssa, now you do it!! 😮😮😮
Three months of crap videos waiting for the timber frame to go up. One week of timber frame. Another three months of crap videos. Click bait thumbnails. 5 minutes of content in 30 minutes.
I guess I'm getting old, LOL I can remember when we were all super excited to go from sealed beams to Halogen lights! Looking forward to the on backhoe testing to really see the difference. Cheers from Tokyo Japan!
For my money I've found buying extremely low cost LED outdoor lighting to be a very good value. They are so inexpensive that I buy spares. When they do fail (rarely so far) I just replace them. Not really interested in purchasing parts and repairing a failed light.
Good thinking Dean. I checked the cheap one on Amazon and now the price has doubled but still that would be a good value. I retro fitted most of the lights on my truck with led, mostly for durability and life span and since have been shopping for a light bar. When I buy one I will not be spending big $. If you have a favorite bargain try acro9@cox.net.
*you're really pulling shit out of thin air on this lighting thing aren't you? The first light those "cooling fins" face away from the front of the vehicle they can't get "bent" unless you hook the light up backwards and if you do you have no point installing anything on any vehicle ever. i would however agree that the seals on that first light do need some reinforcing because they are inherently cheap and do not seal the water out well at all specially around the power cord,*
Hey Jesse, the bracket coating is powder coat. That is why the hole is too small for the bolt. A magnet will tell you what the stuff is made of. Stainless and aluminum are not magnetic.
34 min so long you talk too much and this video so boring i am sorry i saying that i want to see something different like build the house not Led Light Bar !
Wow I am really surprised to discover the $800plus light bar was better made than the $20 something one. I thought for sure they would at least be equal. Next thing you know your gonna tell me that with all that snow at the homestead it has been cold

Curtis Westsail LMAO!
In my LED video... I took the old ones off... put the new leds on.... tested them outside... all in under ten mins!! Why piss everybody off like this?
If its the video Im thinking of it was under 4 min lol
Hey Fluffy Ponies - You know they eat horse meat in Idaho? and make houses without roofs!
he gives a in depth of something he doesnt know much about though... thats the thing. Who said I didnt care?
This video should have been: looks new lights, open box, timelapse of them being installed, look at the light pattern and heres what I think of them as lights and how the install process was. End.
your opinions are not facts, try to separate them, clearly you don't know what you are talking about
This is like me reviewing a computer while never turning it on. this review helped my purchase 0%
This is going to be a Clark Griswold backhoe when Jesse is finished installing the lights.
we will be able to see him from space...lol
Obviously a career as an infomercial spokesperson would never be in his future.
Congrats. Now your lights are worth more than your backhoe... Interesting way of burning money mate.
Let me guess ,you don't drink! what a way to piss away your money...
Congrats on the lights. I can’t afford them and have no viable use for them anyway. Can we talk walls and roof? RV in your garage and some doors on that box? . I watched the timber frame videos with great interest. Even when you wisely outsourced the exterior plumbing to the septic tank... Would rather see updates about plans moving forward regarding house construction or moving camper to garage.
While we wait for the spring thaw can we have a page by page review of that sweet backhoe maintenance service manual? Huh, can we please, huh, can we ???
Don't forget a dissertation on the various brands and choices of hydraulic fluid.... And no nitrogen filled tires?????? Are we slumming now?
Let's see some tests! All I'm hearing is opinion and whatever the spec sheet said. How did the different pods turn out so far?
I think I would've spent the grand on a nice greenhouse for Allysa. A $25 buck light is fine for a backhoe.
lol ya, at $25 could buy 8 and assume 6-12 months each for $200. and be fine for 4-8 years..
the lights that are on it now are fine. They worked for the last 10-20 years lol
lots of mistakes, to much talking about thing's you just don't know about. I think I'll stick with AVE for the best reviews.
30 min BOLTR, where's the popcorn. 30 min of Jessie talking....... Hmm maybe I do need to study tonight
You don't compare two cameras by their housing and straps then leave out the part where you actually use them.

i got a cree light bar for my semi truck 4 years ago.
its mounted right above my windshield.
its been thru -30 snow storms, 120 degree weather in the AZ deserts and has been on my truck for over 200K miles of cross country trucking.
It cost 230 on line with the switch.
cree is just the type of led in the bar not the brand. lol
35 minute video about led lights and no footage of the lights in action? FAIL!
seige9900 thank you, I almost watched this! I really....no deathly HATE unboxing garbage vids.
But you will be back won't you....
Please don't become another Wrangled Star !

Fla-bushcraft Prepper
Switches are rated by voltage AND amperage. Make sure you're not exceeding the switch amperage as well.
WOW while this guy wastes time and money on irrelevant stuff those house beams are covered by 6 foot snow. But F the house, LEDs are more important.
Mark Bradley hater
1000 bucks. New light, or a new gun. Uhhhhh, I guess a new gun this time.
Thanks for the review. I know you guys don’t read these, but I decided to comment after a few years of watching.
Too much talking not enough doing
This video was boring, fell a sleep. Normally great video’s but this unboxing pffff. Talk about de differences between the lights, then mount them and show it.

he would rather be plowing snow than her

Ronald Dijkgraaf
So at what point did someone hold a gun to your head and keep you from turning it off?
How much lighting do you need ? Do you need more light ? .... Just wasting money .
Anyone that would put a $1000 light bar on a piece of heavy equipment is just a moron.... This reminds me of the guys I see riding around in $1500 junker cars with $2000 worth of chrome rims.

Boy you can really tell he's getting paid to talk about the light. First time I ever wanted to punch him in the face, Lol. I couldn't even finish watching this crap!
Hey tough guy....is that your brand or just pretend crap....advertising on the back of their channel I would say that shows how desperate you are....
34 minutes and we don't even get to see the lights working? FAIL!
Comes in part 2, about 1hour long video 🙂
Just stopped by to leave a comment. I'm not wasting my time watching a stupid unboxing video. Why isn't the house being worked on?
John Brunton Watch it! Or you will miss a hilarious parody of the unboxing genre.
And Alyssa making a trip to the hot tub, wow...
Remember to play homesteading!!
I never believed that an entire generation could be a complete failure. I might be wrong.
Jesse droning on for 35 mins. Yawn

Jessie is certainly no AvE
Ave is skookem !!!
Sorry, thumbsdown. Stick to the regular video's.
Another torture session. Just when I was licking my wounds, Jessie brings out the salt and rubs it in.
How much did Baha pay you for this infomercial ?
I hoped they paid him at least a 2 g's if not more...if you have over 100, 000 subs that's what I earn on my Channel for product placement and advert vids...

What happened to homesteading, at least do something that involves boards, hammer and nails..thanks
34 minutes long.. watched 30 seconds. Painful. Still count as a view?
No need 3 mins I think, but you commented so same thing.
BTW a Watt is a unit of power, not current.
wouldn't moving the trailer into your new concrete walls and closing that big hole at the front end of the garage to keep the snow out, be a better idea than playing with lights ??

I’m sorry but you are just grasping at straws with these videos, please just stop u til you can get back to the actual building if your house.
Rick Fletcher OR you could just choose not to watch it’s that simple
There is a 2x speed setting down there in the bottom right guys.
bananasEveryday OMG where have this feature been my whole life???
bananasEveryday Some hero's don't wear capes.
Kurt Schwarz Top right, three dots.
I don't understand what this has to do with homesteading. Very disappointed with your vlogs lately. Are you trying to modernize homesteading??
Since when does homesteading mean avoiding new tech? That's dumb.
Yada yada, I'll go watch cartoons!
Your $400 light is now $501
Also you could always buy a baby and make the sled....
Wow, more product placement with the coffee mug...imagine that.
I love it the more money they make the happier it makes me to see a young couple be successful....I hope they start advertising their UT channel on their new Truck....How much money did you make in the last hour....Jesse just x10 what ever you make.
Humm. $1,000 light bar or one window for the house?
I want 35 min of my life back...👎
I subscribed to watch you build your house and learn, I didn't subscribe for 30 min LED reviews
You'd better leave right now, then.
Border Reiver I am not moaning, simply expressing why I subscribed to this channel and what I would prefer to see this channel reverts back too.. why don't they either create another channel for reviews
Not paint...powder coat. Sprayed on like similar to paint, but then baked to create a near ceramic surface. Just thought you'd want to know.
a $1000 LIGHT BAR !!! How do you buy this while building a debt free home? Seems like a waste of money, that you could use for your house
turning into wranglerstar this is not a good thing
just what I was thinking....
Can you please do a complete analysis and comparison of rechargeable electric drills? And a complete in-depth engineering review of the complete range of available screw heads?
That is for Ave..."Will it chooch?"
The episodes are getting very boring
I reckon you should focus on getting a roof on your house instead , Cant be healthy for that timber with snow , rain and sun
Andy, They're worried about putting a roof on incase it acts like a big sail and the timber takes off in a big wind.
The timbers aren't really fixed down to the rest of the building it seems.
But yes, it galls me too.. All that lovely wood soaking up all that horrible weather.

Why would you waste 1400 on lights when you're doing a budget home build ... there is a ton of other more important stuff you guys need !!!
mason chase gotta spend all. that youtube money somehow haa
better than spending $300 on lights and replacing them 3-4 times because they fail.
Because people like you watch their videos and they have that youtube money coming in to blow now.
OMG .. really nit picking .. plug them in and see what the beam pattern it ... plus $800+ for lights OMG .. money wasted
I thought we already did lights on backhoe
Are you paid by Baja lights? I don’t mind, dare I say I like the product unboxing and reviews.... even fine with you getting paid for it. But try keeping the pace faster. Too deep and tedious on this one. See you in the next video.
Chuck Hutchison I appreciated it, big investment potentially, pays to know exactly what you're getting. And the benefits may not be obvious to everyone.
think we done this before
Lame
For the price difference vs light output I would go with the cheap ones hands down all day long. I can vouch for them being quite durable as well. Had one on my trail rig for a few years
I agree, and for another reason. if $100 light bar disappears from a trailhead, I'm mad; if a $1000 light bar disappears, I go meth-head hunting.
another LED light unboxing? this is quite boring.
Sorry but this seemed like a segment from HOME SHOPPING NETWORK.... Unbox the lights install them and turn them on... Not really interested in all the features....! Just Saying....
A carriage bolt will work in a round hole, as long as the diagonal under the bolt head firs within the hole.
Hoping to see something getting done, skipped through the hole thing looking for something interesting. 👎🏻
Three months of crap videos waiting for the timber frame to go up. One week of timber frame. Another three months of crap videos. Click bait thumbnails. 5 minutes of content in 30 minutes.
Agreed. Unsub.
I guess I'm getting old, LOL I can remember when we were all super excited to go from sealed beams to Halogen lights!
Looking forward to the on backhoe testing to really see the difference.
Cheers from Tokyo Japan!
Will you keep all three ? Two for backhoe and one for your pimping out the sawmill ?
I find it totally pointless in comparing a Mini to a Rolls Royce, more importantly do they do the job? and how long do they last.
Yes they do the job and yes they last....
This video is needlessly long. The lights aren't even tested.
Fell asleep watching this so boring get back to building the house, how about getting a roof on the timber frame!!!!?????
*you're really pulling shit out of thin air on this lighting thing aren't you? The first light those "cooling fins" face away from the front of the vehicle they can't get "bent" unless you hook the light up backwards and if you do you have no point installing anything on any vehicle ever. i would however agree that the seals on that first light do need some reinforcing because they are inherently cheap and do not seal the water out well at all specially around the power cord,*
See what happens. You review the lights and the cheap one doubles over night. 😂
