Thanks Colin! Well... sorry to disappoint, but I don't think these samples are going to get you there. A short attack and decay on a looped sustained fuzz note is going to sound very "keyboardy" for want of a better term. The idea with these instruments (as was the case with the piano ones to a large extent) is to take the basic sonic DNA of a guitar through a fuzz pedal, then hopefully use that sound to create something new, different, and maybe not at all guitar-like. The distinctive sound of a palm mute is mostly in the guitar pick attack and the unique way your palm changes the "physics" of the strings. To pull that off (no pun intended) authentically, you'd either need to actually sample the whole thing, or have some sophisticated modelling shenanigans going on. I do neither of these :-) I've updated the video description in the interests of "expectation management".
@@robjacksonmusic No problem, Rob! I think I can manage that sound OK with my guitar :) It was just a though for something more percussive sounding to complement the pads :)
@@ColinPowell_AMultitudeofOnecool. I've got an ever-growing crazily long list of ideas though, so you never know, if for no other reason to do a set of guitar samples called "CHUGS" :-)
I hate fuzz guitar..uselessly and almost usually it sounds like several drunken Wasps in sticky jam jar ....but no precious the tricksy Rob has forged a marvellous fuzzier to please all...love it 👏👏👏👏🎩🧚🦄🎶🎵🧚
Wonderful job 😎 well done 👍🏼
Damn, that sounds fabulous, Rob! I can't wait for the final version!
Another cool addition, Rob! I guess if you keep the attack and decay very short you can get some nice palm mutey pedals going as well? ;)
