My Vanquish is doing great on the wet sand for me. It cuts right through the salt wet sand with no problem!....I found 2 gold & 3 silver rings so far....Damn good machine for the $$.
Haha brilliant video Arron !! 😊 nice spendables ..... and agree the sunglasses not your style haha 😂 good to see you sticking to the beaches as that’s where I go and you have gave me so many helpful tips and advice 🙌😊! Bugger ..... usb leads look like for a music speaker possibly ?? Crikey £140 is steep they better be good haha 😂 ! That sand scoop is awesome 😎 Adam says he got his on eBay ... I need invest in one lol 😂 ..... good guess haha ..tut is still a find !! Haha 😂 they 2ps follow you every where .....wee Buggers ! Very nice 1955 ship half penny 👌 .... now that’s a lovely george 5th 1923 in mint condition for being in the sea 😊👌 ..... you wished for a ring and got one ☝️ lol GOLD for the next one.
Minelab's latest boast "September Treasure Hunting 2021" stable ID's 540 model is shown but you have shown that is not true especially when it comes to deep rusty old iron on a beach.. I also hunt stony beaches and have used many different machines make no mistake sooner or later we will all dig iron lured by a high VDI.. not a joke especially going down through pebbles and hardpack! I am in the market for a waterproof machine [I have plenty of machines that are not waterproof] one of my friends let me hold his Garratt apex Wow!! at the moment I have to use a harness with my detectors for long hunts.. NCMD member "I love metal detecting" over 40 years metal detecting has taken me to some very beautiful locations and has taught me so much about history! thank you south coast detecting brilliant video's.. when do you think metal detector manufacturers will start putting recycle badges on their wares? I want a greener machine lol.
At 19:25 you mention after digging a couple of scoops the great signal deteriorates to a crappy Iron tone and even sometimes disappear’s completely. Yes my 540 does it too. It drives me nuts.
Nice Arron mate, fancying one of them vanquish, if they are proper usasble on the wet sand. Sounds crystal clear. Enjoyed watching mate, thanks for sharing. ATB GL HH Mark
Loving the videos. Just got a metal detector. Located in Portsmouth uk cant wait to get out and have a bash. Resting up after being ill atm but won’t be long I’m sure. Keep up the good work Dave
congrats on the ring Aaron i use 2 detectors,,,,at pro on dry,,,,, on the wet its the whites duel field pi machine,,, so good but you do dig everything,,,, best of luck mate and go get some more rings
Hi Arron mate , another good one pal shame about the ring though ( BUGGER LOL ) anyway enjoyed it once more mate and i hope your dad is feeling a bit better , take care mate and stay safe ATB GL & HH Rob .
I have found in the Wet Sand to or dry sand for that matter that the Vanquish well initially give a good signal then when you take a scoop or two of sand out it can identify that it is junk or iron better and then starts to give you a bad signal or if you have the iron bias on High and the low (0 downwards) Id blocked out it will give you no signal .
Great hunt again.... Had the same several times with the simplex on a field, from clear tone high to low iron tone.... it sucks... Almost as bad as the famous disappearing signal..... Keep on hunting!!!
All That Glitters - Mudlarking & Metal Detecting I’ve seen Paul Cee pull a few up out of the sand just as nice... some come up beautiful...some come up really worn.
What setting did you have it on please? Iv only just got my vanquish 440 and it was going mad all the time could you do a video on your settings please if you don’t mind thank you
Well done thanks for the video you definitely look more happier on the beach 🏖 I have found with the Vanquish sometimes if it gives mixed signals that the sensitivity maybe a bit to high. Also on the latest firmware/software update you can vary the iron volume which can be helpful. Thanks again 🙂
Hi Aaron , great video as always , can I please ask where you got your D handle from for your scoop ? I have been after one for a long time and can not find a good one . Keep the videos coming , HH . Cheers
South Coast Detecting Hi Aaron , I looked on the site yesterday and gave them a call and they took them off from buying 7 days ago and are now obsolete, you can not get them anymore anywhere apart from New Zealand or Australia and the shipping is more than the handle cost . Oh well I am sure I will find one somewhere , thank you for the reply . HH .
I really enjoyed this one!! Great hunt my friend 👏 👍. You have inspired me to do more wet sand hunting!! Thank you for that. Did you have the vanquish in jewelry mode all metal full sensitivity?
Hi Aaron mate, Pity about the ring, must admit it looked good when you dug it up, and that George V penny was in cracking condition, Hope your dad is on the mend.. Take care mate Tom
Cheers Tom, gonna call him later see how he is. Yeah that ring had me going at first but then I noticed it had no marking...BUGGER! I don’t like doing wet sand normally but I really enjoyed that.
Think u need new scoop pal I just got 340 vanquish for beach its awsome u soon get ear in what to dig and not I get loads deep iron good tones below zero I walk away if it's like 20 then minus zero usually tatt
Hi, could you please tell me where you bought the d-shaped pull handle on the middle of your scoop shaft? I have the same scoop as you and the diameter of the handle is 38mm. Your help would be much appreciated.
South Coast Detecting now I see why great finds though buddy off to a new permission tomorrow after work on a old church field in the middle of nowhere hope I’m lucky keep up with the great vids 😎😎👍🏻👍🏻
23:34 Figured out why you can't pick up the target on the first try, your scoop can't scoop straight!!! Looks like it is time to invest in to a new TITANIUM scoop. Or , maybe one of tungsten carbide with all the rocks. LOL
Vanquish if hunting salt beach all the time.....Simplex is also a good machine for the $$. In the long run the Vanquish will run better (stable) in mineralized ground!....I own both by the way!
I think it depends on what your noise preferences are for myself i hate the chattery noise from simplex. I will go for Vanquish that it is more stable evrywhere and the signal is better:)
What sort of beach wouldn't have 2ps, cars and sunglasses?! Wee powerleads are usually for the powerbanks. Kids need their mobile and tablet constantly charged!
Great video! But if my husband says “bugger” one more time when getting big change at the till I’m banning him from you tube. (Only joking. Keep up the good work) x
@@SouthCoastDetecting It'll mostly be on the beach, despite the fact that I live in south Bucks. I'm kinda drawn to the Simplex though, mainly because it is waterproof and it does seem to be a very popular machine. I may also detect in rivers, streams and the odd farmers field etc
Aron, bump the simplex for wet sand, the vanquish is far better allround, not easy to learn i see you are struggling with iron, if you get a good high tone turn your coil to different angles, it will tell you to leave it if iron, it wont let a good target go when locked on, i use the vanquish on land were it also exells, if you are new to detecting yust use one dont keep alterning detectors, i strongly recomend the vanquish, i also owned a simplex but its gone now, it caint see wot your vanquish can in any soil or sand, you can be as good as anyone practicing makes perfect cheers stuart,
You can tell you enjoyed that hunt on the wet sand
Your intro made me feel like I was watching the Jeremy Clarkson of metal detecting haha 👍👍

Fun vid. I get the numbers changing on the vanquish occasionally on the deep targets.

21:45 wow that's gorgeous!
Nice video mucker. At one point I thought you were trying to beat your buddy Michael's record for the biggest hole dug😂
Ian Ashman 😂 that would take some beating... that hole was massive!!

Hi ,need some help can you detect on any beach or do you have to a permit
Check the crown estate website they have maps of foreshore where you can detect without permit
how much is the simplex?i need to ave my cost
that misleading numbers (20:00) happens on every metal detector ive had.
What settings were you using on the Vanquish?
scott young
Mostly in coin mode, sens 2 from top, low iron bias

I use a 540 and come to the conclusion if it can’t fix the depth it’s some kind of twisted trash. I don’t dig targets it can’t pinpoint depth anymore
