Update on Ace - I have gotten him involved in playing some of the games th-cam.com/users/postUgkxECnmSvBSv_NGWx4_ChD73pF3NYZwI2F3 and I can see a difference in his confidence already! My other dog played along and he became intrigued - now its a daily part of our routine - about 3 times a day we do the shell game and the muffin tin game. I am so grateful for coming upon your training techniques!

Having watched airport security on TV in South Africa, I gotta tell you that the airport authorities there seem truly harsh at times. So much so that I don't think I'd ever travel to Australia, no offense intended. PS I do have family living there from South Africa but nah, I would lose my plot if they treated me like that. It's so sad.
We dont like people who use cruel devices on animals . He uses choke collars, prong spike collars and pulls at the poor dogs necks . We dont allow animal abusers .end of story

As an Australian I'm so disappointed you didn't get to help our dogs. It's a shame people make rude comments without realizing you are literally saving dogs from being put down and misunderstood. If you ever go again to Australia, get a letter of recommendation via a lawyer there. They know who to contact and help you with PR there as well. You're self taught for the most part, but they can always help with the right advice. Good luck. I enjoy seeing dog training on tv, etc all while raising my own family in years past. We never stop learning.

Because I got suckered into the Force-Free or Positive Only movement, I used to shit-talk Cesar Millan and other notable trainers of the Balanced methodology ... Now I consider myself Balanced myself after years of failure in my efforts to address my dog's dog aggression tendencies (which I believe to be a result of his genetics and my own unintended enabling of the behavior) and aggressive pulling when he sees or smells other dogs that trigger him. Also, in FF communities on Facebook, I started to feel a bit uncomfortable - as though I was walking on eggshells around the admins who run those communities! I'm in Canada, thankfully he isn't banned here - I would love to have the Dog Daddy come over to where I live to further help me improve my dog!
I'm Australian this is not your fault our system here is messed up and getting worse. Even flying to another state can be a nightmare. I got pulled aside searched and questioned just for having a couple of small stones in my bag I found on a beach. Like really!!!!
He applied for the wrong visa. The application itself comes with a glossary of specifically what "business visitor activities" means. All the information is openly available to the public. He made the decision as an adult to get the incorrect Visa. The responsibility is all his and yet here he is still still trying to deflect and imply some wild conspiracy theory.

Not sure why you think things are getting worse here, and yes I can understand them wanting to check out stones in your bag. The visa requirements for most countries can be a tricky as in the last few years I have had to navigate through residency and then citizenship. I can understand how he made this error, but when it comes down to it, it is up to the traveller to ensure they have correct visa. Hopefully he is able to return as soon as he is able.

You can make general business or employment enquiries (work), negociate contracts(work) or take part in a conference or trade fair (so long as not paid by the person running said fair/conference. Having attended a conference (and colleagues, a Fair), we were paid by our employer/s to attend, so we were in fact working. So it is not quite as clear-cut as you say. If someone is attending work for an external employer in Australia, I would classify that as work. You regard it as Business. 🤔

As an Australian - who had no idea you were visiting - I’m appalled that you were not allowed to enter and educate Australian dog lovers on how to help their dogs live happier/healthier lives.

Greetings from Sydney, Australia. Really sorry what happened to you. I'm not a dog expert as such. Yet being a psychologist for 2 decades I'm fairly familiar with principles of learning and behaviour. Your approach makes 100% sense and thanks to your videos we can all witness that you walk the walk, not just talk the talk. Most others are caught up in a positive reinforcement scheme (because it's all they know). I like your work and I hope you'll return in the near future!
I think this is a very relevant comment. The truth is there are life lessons waiting to be learned from the Dog Daddy. He really observes each dog as an individual and seems to get onto the dog's wavelength in an amazingly short time (usually). This is the result - I think - of reassuring the dog he/she is being listened to and responded to appropriately. Dogs are not stupid and know when someone cares about them. And isn't that the same for most people too? Doesn't each of us want to be listened to and understood and be shown someone cares about us? We're animals too, after all. That's why I say there are life lessons waiting to be learned from this talented and dedicated individual.
I don't think the trainers truly understand operant conditioning.
He uses positive reinforcement too 😂 its not a scheme.... its proven techniques that works, the difference is the psychological damage in the cases he deals with. As a dog trainer I also use these same techniques and the same techniques as dog daddy uses for those more extreme psychological issues that create difficulties in the "basic" training techniques of positive reinforcement. The results you witness in his videos show the process of confrontation of fears and being shown its irrational fear, to put it in basic terms and this works well because its used alongside so called "scheme" positive reinforcement. The positive reinforcement is petting, food, toys etc whatever works for the individual dog. Most of the work is done with the care giver of the dog training them to understand this

Truly they made a huge mistake. After giving your true reasons to be in Australia. This story will go viral I tell you. Australia authorities in the immigration should investigate this case of yours. It is very sad. You must have been terrified by their accusations yet you behaved so well. In Spite of all this you stayed composed. They made you feel so bad and left you crying on your way back to your country. Your tiktok and video you made on these happenings will go viral. May justice be given to you. You have a shoulder to lean on. I can imagine your predicament. Keep doing what you are very good at. You will receive many invitations from many countries.
Make sure this time you inform the immigration your whole purpose for travelling to such destinations. Get a clear certificate like who invited you and authorization from the government immigration. Stamped and signatures, two witnesses. Etc. Proper documented letter of approval. Take photocopies in you phone and carry the original doc. I think that's it. Smile now dog daddy. Hope you did get that rest after all you must have been jetlagged. You didn't do anything wrong. The Australian people should have given you some time and done more investigation rather than act on their..... 😢😢😢

I just found you and I have binge watched a ton of your videos. It makes me so mad and sad that people think that you are hurting the dogs you are helping to train. You are saving the lives of so many dogs and the humans that they could potentially hurt….or worse. Never mind the fact that these dogs are not living a happy life when they are in a constant state of fear and/or aggression. A lot are locked away or not getting the exercise they need as the “owners” are too fearful and/or couldn’t be bothered to deal with the dogs behaviour. Honestly he did mess up. He was going there for work. Regardless of the emails, to me that's just not taking ownership of not doing his due diligence. Getting the visa the day before shows his lack of preparation. I like him don't get me wrong. But this is soley on him. He knows there's people that don't agree with his work he should of been more thorough. ✌❤

This prohibits a holder of an ETA pass to carry out any work whilst in Australia other than what is considered “business visitor activity”.
“Business visitor activity” means work such as making a general business or employment enquiry; negotiating or reviewing a business contract; official government to government visit activities; or participation in unpaid trade conferences, seminars or fairs. In general, any work that involves supplying a service or undertaking work for an Australian business or sale of goods or services to the public is not permitted if a no-work condition such as 8115 is imposed.
Sadly you got caught up in legal language. 😬
Just make sure you check the Visa conditions by the codes.

Visitors to the US have it way worse. Even when nothing is an issue.
My Aussie friends fly into LAX and it takes 3 hours to get through US Customs. When I fly to Australia (Brisbane, specifically) I’m through Customs and in an Uber less than 20 minutes after my flight lands!! It’s pretty wild!!
When I flew home from London, the US required us to be pulled aside and questioned before we even got on the plane in Heathrow! Only the yanks had that happen, and we were provided the documentation that required it! (It was a new Trump thing.)

As a old trainer. Watching your videos and knowing that you are teaching the owners of these dogs and doing follow ups with them. You got my total admiration!! These dogs need you more than anything. The things I've seen while working with dogs done by other trainers made me cry!! We need more of you! Way more of you! Australian border customs staff are known to be very strict, but sadly, seem also quite inflexible. You told the truth about your visit and were prevented from entry. Their visa conditions should be made clearer in future.

I'm so sorry, as an Australian, I would love to see you here. I'm scared of dogs (i was attack several times as a kid) and I have been watching you in the last few weeks and your vids. I would love to happen to me what you do for dogs and overcome my fear of them lol. I speak cat but i love all animals. As an experienced Dog Stylist 5+yrs and Newly Certified Dog trainer this really annoys me like no one understands what we go through to help these pups, I had to groom aggressive dogs and with out proper Dog Training I learned to retrain all of my grooming clients to not be scared. We literally throw ourselves in the jaws of danger because we know we can help the right pup! All people know is to judge the work but best believe if you tell them too do it themselves they will most definitely do it and will regret they thought our job was easy or abusive. Smh, anyways I love you content Dog Daddy! All we can do is keep going and create amazing work with our Pups🐶💗
I feel like you are such a kind soul, and I have NEVER thought you were “mean” to dogs. The idiots saying that are the same ones who have dogs that disrespect TFFFF out of them and harm others!!! Animals need training and discipline at times, and from what I’ve seen you know EXACTLY what needs to happen and when.
I grew up with horses and lots of other animals in the country, and dogs, you cannot let a 1000+ pound animal (horse) or a dog (big or small-they need a leader!!!) take advantage of you. They need a leader and they also need discipline. You don’t even do anything harsh in your videos, so just ignore the dummies who don’t know sh*t. They prob don’t have kids or if they do they’re wild af.
Keep on doing what you’re doing-helping people and not paying attention to the haters. They’re jealous because you’re doing something you love and you’re super successful at it! Pity them because they’re just miserable people.

Lol I just now saw all these comments below! I feel really bad for people who think that you cannot responsibly use tools to help a dog learn to NOT FIGHT AND KILL OTHER DOGS, ANIMALS, OR PEOPLE. Or any other thing the animal needs to learn, in order to be able to live and function in their owner’s home, family, and LIFE!
That is ignorance, plain & simple. If these same people have a more dominant and independent natured dog they may end up getting hurt, getting someone else hurt, causing someone else to lose an animal (bc they cannot control their own!) or maybe even losing another animal of their own bc their dog has no respect for them.
The way he uses the prong collar is not in ANY WAY cruel or unusual punishment! When the dogs respond, he releases the pressure. THAT IS HOW ANIMALS LEARN. Pressure on and then pressure release at the proper time with response from the animal.
Sure there are evil people out there who use these same tools to be harsh and cruel with animals, and they are the ones who should be punished and locked up!
No one should be cruel to any living being, but it happens. However, it is definitely NOT happening here, with the Dog Daddy! This awesome trainer who understands dogs very well on a level most people will never reach is saving dogs from being put down. And no telling how many people’s lives or other animals’ lives he’s also saving by helping these owners to change their dogs’ behavior.

I watch many of your videos and anyone who knows anything about dogs know they need a bold and disciplined teacher. I've had and raised dogs my whole life and don't see anything wrong with any of your methods. Please continue to help these owners and ultimately save the animals that would otherwise be sheltered or euthanized.

I am so proud of you as a young man. You are an incredible trainer. I used to train dogs. I used as many different methods and what works for the dog. In your videos I have not seen any abuse at all. What I see is a trainer using what works for the dog

I love the results you get. And I believe the more you react to haters, and explain your methods, the more credibility you give to them. Enjoy the path. Know there will always be people who will not like what you do. Allow people to choose you by creating content for them. Use criticism and haters' comments to know what things you can do to make it more clear in your trainings, designed for your followers. Do not allow your channel to become a fight against haters, that's not the purpose, but enjoying the journey leading many dog lovers who wants to honor their dogs with a better nourishing relationship

Unfortunately you are not the only one caught in that. This is happening to quite few Ausies and Kiwis when they went to USA to do dog sitting or house sitting. Even if they were not paid, but got free accommodation it is considered service exchange and comes under trade, so some were also having denied entry. So yes, one has to be very careful and research in advance. Still sorry to hear this.

It isn’t a tick box, it’s an entire visa that you have to apply for and that a frequent flyer would know is incorrect because it makes it crystal clear that you cannot be paid for any activities right there on the application.
