I hunt the same type areas you guys hunt, except I'm in Georgia. Creeks, fields, clear cut areas, ole boys backyard when he plows for a garden. I also dig and probe. I have recovered alot of artifacts over the years. Recover, preserve, and protect every artifact you can get your hands on. I totally agree.
I really enjoyed this episode! I always learn something new! Mr Matthew, you are blessed to have found such amazing artifacts! Thank you and God Bless you for persevering our Native American artifacts 🙏🏼
I love the busting of chops between you and Chris, true friends do that! No probing up her in the northeast, too many rocks, more rocks than dirt sometimes.
Chris very nice find! You were lucky to get to dig that up in moist dirt. Mine was in a foot of hard packed red clay. It took a while 11/2 yrs ago. Tell Chris I’ve been missing him. He’s gotten a little sorry on his hunting. 😂 Spike…just marry the woman. Then, she can fish and you can hunt! Or, send me in your hunting place. I’ll give you 1 piece of every 5 I find. And, I will find them!! I’ve always been able to find whatever is on the ground!!😂😂
Great video. Thank you for the insight on how logging and agriculture destroys prehistoric artifacts. What was the metate used for? Who used it. Any idea of age? Why would it have a bowl shape on one side?
Not sure of the age. Maybe all cultures used them. The bowl shape is pecked out at first to keep grain in place but as they were used it would get deeper from use.
The round piece with a hole and a long even trough would have been used arrow shafts and spear shafts. Probably other tool handles also. In my area, it’s still easy to find lots of Indian work stones. I see them everywhere but I don’t always pick them up because they can be really heavy. I have seen them priced at $100. That’s worth picking them up. However, not all of them have perfectly rounded work areas. All of them I see that can be moved appear to have been shaped and lay solidly on the ground.
I found a piece similar to the first piece you found. Mine is dished out and square on the side. About 20 yards from it I found a tool/axe type piece. I saw it I knew exactly what it was. The woods had been logged out years ago. The skid loaders dug trenches and brought them to the surface. I haven't got back to dig or probe yet. I just found the spot looking for sheds this past spring.
The piece of hollow stone is a fulgurite. To get that the tree must be struck and die forming the fulgurite. Then the tree rots away, leaving a hollow stone. Typically found in sandy ground. I have some just like what you have. Rare find.
After the boys gave Spike a pretty hard time, the next point they found was a real beauty! But it was BROKE! Lesson is: Better think twice before you mention ol' Spike, the artifact gods always get their way. 😂😂
Where did you find the clovis club hat? I gotta have one sir. And yes I've earned it. I found 2 of them but one is broken in half the other is whole as can be.
Calamite fossil, basically a fossilized horsetail fern tree from Carboniferous times. I have one about that size, I use it for a toothbrush holder! A native American valued that I’m sure.
I can tell you exactly what that piece of tubular sandstone is, just as soon as Spike Googles it for me. Or maybe Mad Mike of the Pinebelt might beat me to it. Y'all are fun.
It's too bad the plow blade breaks so many nice artifacts. But, most of them would never be found without plowing the fields. It's a catch-22. Elon Musk needs to develop a really sophisticated ground penetrating radar machine that is cheap enough to market to millions and that shows where every little rock is within 3 feet of the surface in Hi-Def.
This is Catni from OMMO and I wish you a nice day! I want to invite you to do some videos for our Underwater Metal Detector in TH-cam, will you be interested in trying it?
The first artifact is clearly a bone and is likely the remnants of a front leg structure....ulna and radius thus explaining the groove. The hole is where the marrow was. By the size of it it would likely be of a bison or elk size critter.

I love the busting of chops between you and Chris, true friends do that! No probing up her in the northeast, too many rocks, more rocks than dirt sometimes.
That's right. I wouldn't know how to act if they all didn't give me a hard time and me giving it back to them.

Hello from Siesta Key Florida
Hello!

Probably other tool handles also.

That is very interesting, thanks for the information.
Great!!

I been trying to tell them that lol.
What kind of paint did you use?
Several brands but Applebarn from Wal-Mart will get you started
Where did you find the clovis club hat? I gotta have one sir. And yes I've earned it. I found 2 of them but one is broken in half the other is whole as can be.
Matthew had it made! He had to let everyone know he found a Clovis! 😂
I had that hat made. We have a merch store. Need to get some for sale.

Ive always said it would be awesome if you could train a dog to help you hunt them…lol
@@HeartbreakerRelics Someone will do it. Just a matter of time.

Grinding stone tool
