I am T-Maxx Tony and I am the NITRO RC HISTORIAN.
In this video we have a Serpent Vector NT 2002 model. This is a 1/8 scale on-road pan style racecar from around 2002. It was sold as a kit only and cost 550 British pounds at the time. In todays value this is over 1,000 dollars. This has extremely unique features that are not found on any other classes of on-road touring cars, lets see what it's got.
T-Maxx Tony also takes his 3.3 T-Maxx and pins it up against the SERPENT.
1/8 Serpent 😍😍😍
Loved seeing this again buddy, this was the pinnacle of rc Racing 20 years ago. I went to watch a couple of National race meetings, absolutely mind blowing speed and they handled like they were on rails! I actually got to turn a few laps with this car, let’s just say my driving skills were left wanting 😂👊🏻
Tony, loved the video . I’m the proud owner of a vintage serpent myself and love these cars. They are the highest level of RC
racing cars there is. The blond hair and pink polo shirt had me rolling! Keep em coming. Thanks
hey man!! thanks so much for watching, t-maxx Tony says you the man!! I will soon be hopefully getting the newest nitro serpent you can buy on my channel. Will be interesting to see what the past 20 years have done to the best all around on-road nitro car, right?
I use to race these cars back in 2000 in Toledo. I had the Vector and the Vector NT and it was the Best RC Car I ever had. So much fun and its a shame they discontinued them. They still make these but they now call them the Serpent Vipers. If anyone is actually interested in getting one. Please be sure to get the best engine and pipe for it. Do not go cheap. I highly recommend a Novarossi Engine as they are the best. I also noticed the prices came down a bit too as when I bought mine the actual kit was around 800.00. Now that is no radio, engine, pipe, nothing. Just the car kit. But these are definitely the fastest and best precision 8th Scale racing RC Nitro Car on the Market IMHO.
I've been watching your videos for a little while now and they are great! You are bringing back such good memories of when I was younger and heavy into RC. I still have all my old RCCA magazines, I remember seeing the Serpents in them and thinking how awesome they were. You've given me motivation to try and get some of my nitros running again. Keep it up!
hey my fellow nitro friend!! Don't ever get rid of your old RCCA mags, trust me, they will bring you a lot of fun memories now and later. I've just bought an old RC mag from france and will show it in a video soon, really amazing stuff in it, way better than the RCCA from the US at that time. I always wanted an HPI proceed, which basically is this serpent. Lets get your nitros going again!!
@@hybrid32494 I gotta dig them out and take a look at them again, I haven't for years. I think they go back to the late 90's. I just picked up two Fantom FR18's for my 3.3 T-Maxx. I had an FR15 in my Ofna LD3 and loved it. Can't wait to see out those French RC mags!
My kyosho gt2 has a 2 speed clutch just like the serpent. You actually want to loosen the 2 outer screws on the shoes for earlier shifting :)
I had centax n my tc3
I love my Vector. Its my favorite on road car. The handling is unbelievable and it's high tech.
What if I told you I had one in mint condition
@@robbiepittman6919 That's awesome.
By the way, your name is Robbie Pittman? I had a good friend that died a while back named Robert Pittman.
I agree. I used to have a Vector 98 (previous generation to the NT). I loved this car. And yeah the Brushless cars today are far faster, but in the world of Nitro/Gas, these are definitely some of the most impressive.
I have the same exact model serpent. Impossible to find parts now. Bought it used a few years after it came out. Played with it for a summer and too fast. Took it all apart and scrubbed it clean and was perfectly reassembled and shelved it for 15yrs!!!!. FINALLY took out last year. It was still tuned and shifted perfect. Leaned it out for top speed run in front of my house. I hit a little dip\bump in the road doing probably 70mph, flipped about 15 times!!!!. No body on it. (its true...those times in your life it does happen in slo-mo) Only broke a few parts (rear blocks mainly) and cracked bumper luckily. Was able to find them online. Too scared now to drive it as no replacement parts. So be careful with it.
That thing is totally sick, the highest level of competition you can really tell I mean that fuel tank that Wheel hub design and the chassis layout! Totally mind blowing!
The front sway bar system and the floating body mounts blew my mind, You'll never find those features on any other class of RC. I'd love to find one like this for myself, this one isnt mine.
That is incredible. I have never seen one before. Thank you for explaining all the technology so well! Great video.
hey man!! Glad to see you watching all the various videos on my channel. I was lucky enough to have a friend of mine bring out this vintage Serpent, I've also never seen one in real life before, and only read about them.
Serpent from Sprint 6000 to the 960 were the nicest, beautifully 1/8 on-road racing cars...❗ 👍👍👍🏎️🏁🤓🇫🇷 Please more videos on this Serpent's time...
hey man!! thanks for watching. I totally agree, the 1/8 on-road pan cars from this time were incredible, especially the HPI proceed. unfortunately i'm not the owner of this serpent, I own the T-maxx and I was just lucky enough to see it and video it in person.
@@hybrid32494 Yes, do you know the Slide SMP (SWISS)? It was the "top of the top" esthetically... 🤩
Awesome! I love vintage RC, and this Serpent race car is amazing! I recently, got back into the hobby after 15 years. I have recently restored my Losi XXX-NT and HPI RS4 Nitro MT. I am considering some new RC's, but find myself still shopping for 15-20 year old ones! lol. As long as you have vintage RC on your channel...I will always be a subscriber. Great video! Thanks Man!
Got vector in mint condition for sale
I was 13 when this car came out. I remember drooling over it. Maybe now I can afford one!
That car is awesome 😎 I never would’ve thought in 1 million years it was four-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive or whatever it was!!! Sweet video!!!
This car has the most unique 4WD system too. Locked rear diff and front one-way ball diff. If i get this car upclose again I'd like to take a look at the intricate body mouting system again. It's like magic, how the body never movies while the suspension does it's job at all times.
hybrid32494 yes that is crazy how that floating body mount works it actually blew my mind lol 😆
I dig the vintage Rc's ( cool ) how technology is constantly changing . Nowadays the Traxxas X.o1 hitting 120 mph LOL. Thanks my friend for the run down memory lane, 3.3 is doppnes too 🙌💯. Salute 👊
I hated on arrmas as well until i recently picked one up, got a typhon 3s, and its freaking insane how tough that thing is.
That's a cool 1/8th scale man. This video has gave me some motivation to get my Hyper7 back running and bashing about again 🤙
hey man!! that's cool. Nothing like seeing a nitro run, there is not one electric car that will give you the same happines, at least for me there is'nt. Not even owning the Traxxas XO-1 or an X-maxx will make me as happy as getting the nitro motor to run well.
I have two 1/8s an old Picco Integra and a 2013 Spec Xray rx8. The handling is nice, but bashing wise useless on uneven surfaces.
I actually converted a traxxas nitro 4 tec to a 1/8 racecar copy and I 3D printed the floating bodymount. I also 3D printed the wide rear wheels that accommodate two 26mm tires. You get the picture.
It’s basically a mock copy, but atleast its a bashable pan car.
hey man!! WOW, that's a load of work you did, very nice!! You're a true RC hobby guy, I can appreciate that. You're right these high end road cars are only for smooth pavement. I used to have a nitro 4-tec 2.5, liked it for what it was at the time.
The serpent NT dropped a dog bone shaft @ 8.55.
I really love 1/8 onroads. I have 2 of them, a picco integra which is older than the serpent NT and an X-ray rx8.
I’m thinking of letting go of my picco integra roller to make room for my newer models. But until then, I’m still having second thoughts on what new vehicle I should get.
Always just let your videos randomly pop up this one caught my eye.. always wanted a badass vector
Love the serpent ! You can ship it over here when you done ! 😁
LOL, thanks my dude!! Unfortunately the serpent is not mine, LOL.
Wow man amazing video. I’m just working so I don’t have a lot of time to write but love this video. I’ve been eyeing an old serpent impact 2 and there is an ultra rare Space Europa on eBay right now but it is expensive. Loved these cars back in the day but being a teen I couldn’t afford one to have. So now I’ll probally get one. I swear we are lost brothers haha or we would get along well that’s for sure haha. Cheer my friend here’s to another week straight of work then days off for a couple weeks. I can smell the nitro from here. Ps guess I should mention I picked up a HPI Hellfire ss for a heck of a deal on eBay this week so I’ll be having some fun getting it running once I’m done with work again. 👋🇨🇦💪🍻
Love that body style. Should not have to take them apart to adjust 2 speed, there's usually a adjustments hole.
hey dude!! thanks!! You're right, my buddy and I took it apart because it only took the removal of one E-Clip and it was easy enough, and also cool to see the inside of it. Mostly just for the video, you know. Soon we will be doing top speed runs on this with a GPS.
👍👍Serpent is the best rc 1/8 for me,, I have many serpent,, veteq, nt, prototype impulse pro+veteq in brushless, 966e ect,, top
whats up man! thanks for watching and your support! BTW, I've got another video on this channel with a new Serpent VIPER 989, it did a 61 MPH speed run in the video check it out. Trully a remarkable piece of engineering these cars.
Love the new hair do! 👱🏻♂️ Lol next we need to see you sporting the locks
hahaha. T-maxx Tony happens to be a WWE Ric Flair Lover, so he got blonde hair. He is going to be in the next video on this thing.
You have to adjust the 2 speed with the smaller grub screws, not those big ones
hey man! thanks for watching and your comment! The serpent in this video was not mine, Only the T-maxx is mine, So I honestly did not know 100% what was being adjusted in this video.
I came up on lot's of used parts to build a few rollers. I can't wait to get into it. I grew up in Pomona and the original Ranch Pit Shop had an 1/8 on road track that they later converted to off-road. Seeing and hearing those 1/8 car's come around the corner then shift into second down the straight was better then seeing all those prostitutes out front working😁
when i comes to nitro racing here in europe serpent have always been on top in technology...
and prices!! ahaha. Thanks for watching my fellow nitro guy!!!
That onroad car is sweet man. I think I may end up getting me a true onroad car from a different brand other then traxxas. I may end up going with a Serpent or something Japanese. Not sure yet...... I’m more of a speed guy but I certainly wouldn’t mind a T-Maxx either I heard they were a blast.
HATE is a strong word, u said u hate Arrma but u shouldn't hate any RC they r all fun! IMO LOL
LOL, yes, I siad "I hate on Arrma", meant it in a loving way. All RC is great ofcourse, I fully agree. But this Serpent is in a leage of it's own.
@@hybrid32494 Nitro sucks bro!!!!! Lol
good info on the classic. wonder why traxxas hasnt tried to sue them for the onboard shock design haha
DID you notice this video had the history, testing, starting, running and a wig all in one. Never did that before, ahahah. Yup Traxxas gonna go back to 2002 and claim their patent for the 2004 REVO Style inboard shocks predates the SERPENT patent, ahahah,.
@@hybrid32494 the video had it all! It took two days and a therapy session to process all the greatness that went into the making of this vídeo🤯 I'm still recovering. Haha. The wig was hilarious 😁 now go watch my latest bash video and leave me a comment for christ sake. Haha
Thank you for putting up nitro content.
you got it!! I love nitro and gas RC, if you noticed I don't do many electrics anymore. I still have them, bt they are just so boring to watch on video. Only thing that matters with electrics is top speed runs for me.
@@hybrid32494 I mainly run nitro ... only brushless rig I have is a blade fusion 480... (heli) 6s machine. Other then that I have a savage xl 5.9 an my revo which did have a 2.5r , now has a brand new 3.3 that absolutely rips.
@@DomVito87 which fuel do you run? I am planning on doing speed and temp test videos in the future with the worst and the best rated fuels and different nitro contents. Would be interesting. The savage XL 5.9 is incredible, I've owned the old savage 21 and savage 25.
@@hybrid32494 I only run byron fuels. 20 percent. My nitros love em. You know you have to keep them happy!!
@@DomVito87 same fuel as I run. I started of with Odonell years ago, now I cannot find it anywhere. You 100% right. Cant go wrong with BYRON.
Awesome video!!!! Best one yet at least for me. Learned something new and cool
I recently received a nova x act pro 8 italia, nearly done with break in, and it is a sweet engine
Omg this is such a beautiful designed car my uncle had these high end cars when I was little he wouldn't even let me breath on them lol 👍
hey man, whats up!!! I totally agree these are really nicely made and designed. Everything has a race specific purpose. For the money it was a trophy type RC for the on-road segment. Too bad road Rcs are nowhere as popular as they used to be years ago.
Loving this one thanks for sharing very important information giving thanks blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪
whats up man!! Thanks so much for watching some of my vids, means alot to me!! you saw my new PRIMAL MT vids? that thing is nuts, largest truck there is today.
Very cool car with some really cool features 👍
thanks man!! this is the top level of nitro rc racing tech from 2 decades ago. Pretty incredible to see still kicking ASS.
I have a couple of these from back in 2003 when I used to race. If anyone is interested let me know.
When you get a chance bro , could you please help with a problem I'm having with my baja
whats my my dude!! I just watched you video and left you a comment. That wobble looks pretty normal, When the car sits with the wheels on the ground and weight on the suspension it will be ok. Did you run it as it is right now?
I used to have a team magic g4 black magic 1/10 it had a novarossi 11 engine with a tuned turbo pipe was super fast and would leave the 1/10 serpent cars behind
im gonna look up the team magic RCs, thanks for the info. I'd say the 1/10 serpent cars were nothing special, it's all about the 1/8 models like these in the video.
Looks like a f1 under the body. Nice🤟💨💨
How can I contact you?? I found some parts for the serpent...
hey buddy, this serpent isn't mine, but I am good friend with the owner. I don't whore myself out on social media for views on here but here is my instagram name (hybridnatured) if you wanna contact me, I;m sure he could use some of those parts.
hybrid32494 DM you late last night with 2 links.
Loving the nitro vids 💪🏻
thanks my dude, we are making nitro great again. appreciate your support. Now lets hope some people offer me up other cool rcs to do videos on.
Hello isn't the suspension too soft?
hey man!! The suspension on this car was set at it's max ride heigh already. And honestly it's pretty firm as is, I was pressing down on the chassis pretty hard for it to flex that much.
@@hybrid32494 i guess you wanted it that way for the street but for track it wouldn't be the best to have it that soft with all that travel
Best nitro on your channel.......👍🏾
whats up my dude!! I fully agree, Ive never seen one of these up close in person. When you see those large foam wheels, you know you're talking super high end stuff.
The serpent is my dream RC.…………I will own her …………one day. 🥺
You made me jump when the video started ha ha , Great video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome dude, that thing looks amazinggg
T Maxx Tony with a Polo LMFAO 👑
ahaha, YUP!!! T-maxx Tony's Favorite WWE/WCW wrestler is RIC FLAIR, thats why he has his blond hair style.
Serpent ......🤯
Cool vid I'm a serpent nut love em!
hey buddy!! thanks for watching, Soon you will see a new Serpent nitro on my channel. Will be interesting to compare how a 20 year timeframe has improved the most insane on-road race car ever, right!!!
@@hybrid32494 check out my channel
sweet Serpent
I love serpent ...
SERPENT is king!!! lol. thanks for watching my dude!!!
You lost me when you brought up Arrma for no reason bro..SMH
hahaa, LOL. I don't know why I always find things to hate on with Arrma, It's a subconscious thing. I actually think they have terrific 3S models which I would buy. But nothing over the 3S models.
@@hybrid32494 Arrma had zero to do with the wing ..Wings have been on RC cars for 40 years bro lol..Why are you such a hater?? Lol...I don't run nitro anymore but I don't think of ways to hate on them either lol
👍👍👍👍
shes a bit rich!
I know, just like the girl I need to find, LOL. JK. This was a relatively new motor still, and was running 20% nitro, I should have said that in the video. Will be doing speed testing on this in the near future.
@@hybrid32494 Haha I hear you maybe go one or two hours in the high speed needle and see what happens I think that should be enough to clear it out fantastic video is always man keep making them
Nice video
thanks buddy!!
I want it.
🤤
Ultra rich 💀

Brad's Rcs yes number 1. That makes me # 2. Just like in the austin powers movies. Hahah
