Looks great, will be a nice shelf queen. You are correct, the Rock'n City (44B) was the first belt driven buggy and was also the first 4x4 buggy so Hirobo had a couple of milestones there. I'm in the process I finishing my Rock'n Vega restoration after restoring the chassis 3 years ago😂. I figure 2024 is it's 40 year anniversary year so I better get on it. 😁👍
Thanks for confirming that. Yes I've seen either on here or instagram that you're in the process of painting or have just finished. I was quickly scrolling on IG and I saw a red, white and blue body. I"m assuming that the body for your Hirobo. Either way its looks Sweet!
@@RCRetro No probs at all! Yeah that body is for my Rock'n Vega, going for box art. Been putting off this paint job for ages because there's so much in it. Thanks Ari! 🙂👍
That truck looks the business. I have to say though those stickers down the side make me sweat a little just looking at them! You did a great job with them though they look perfect.
That is one excellent truck! I've never seen one of these before, and to see one in mint condition is quite a treat. I bet you had to sell a kidney for it, lol! Great video, pal!
I don’t recall you showing your collection displayed, I think lots of us would really love to see it all together and on display. Thanks for all the great work I have really enjoyed you content over the years.
I'm in the process of putting my display area together. Its won't be very extensive. Eventually it will be done and I'll share everything. Even NIB items I have.
That's one awesome looking rc. For the lights, maybe cut some circles from some leftovers from a body, put the stickers on that and then on the body with some blutack or double sided tape?
It looks great! I could tell by looking at it that the stickers were going to be a challenge!! It will look great in the collection and I don't blame you for not putting the side mirrors one, they look like they just want to snap off if you looked at them cross!
Nice car. For the belt cover, I got some from an Australian guy on the Hirobo group on Facebook, he had plenty of stock of those parts... He may still have some...
I think I hated mechanical speed controls before there were even any other options… they must have done something to me. Super interesting truck. I wonder what the wheelbase is compared the the actual Hilux, because I agree, looks closer to 1/12.
Very nice result. I hate putting on decals at the best of times, let alone the challenge this body represents. Pointless Trivia: In an Australian comedy/caper film 'Malcolm' depicts a bank robbery pulled of by the protagonists using three of those trucks. In the first minutes of the film there is a Tamiya Sand Scorcher as well.
Thanks. Yes I'm aware they are missing. I have them. Just thought it looked better. Also where the dimple holes to mount the window are uneven on each side. not sure why they are not parallel. Thought that would look silly where one window was higher on one side than the other.

I did plenty of sweating lol... anxiety and nerves were at an all time high lol

LOL for what I paid, yeah pretty close to a kidney...probably one of the top 5 most expensive in my collection.
@@RCRetro and that's why we have two kidneys. Hahaha! Great find, Ari. Thanks for sharing! 👊🏼
You did a fantastic job. A lovely one to add to the collection!

Thats a good idea. Thanks. I will consider that.
Thats an awsome looking buggy, i dont blame you for shelfing it. I cant imagine breaking something and trying to find spares.
Came out great. Now you just need 5 more Hirobo in the collection. Lol
LOL most likely won't happen. Thats it for me. Hirobo = mucho dinero... and thats it for me!
Beautiful looking truck and so glad you got one as its in great hands now.

I had this RC as a kid, me and my brother had one each, we got it from Metro Hobbies In Melbourne
It looks perfect!
Thank you.
Came out awesome! Nice job!
man , I really like the looks of that truck.
That is a neat truck. You did great on the stickers.
Love the belt drive set up!!
Wonderful work, a real pleasure to watch. And so many souvenirs :)
Great looking truck. I love the retro decals! Good job!
Congrats on that beauty mate.
That thing is crazy cool!
Looks mint Ari!
That looks awesome!!
Fantastic job! Love it!
This thing is awesome

Oh wow. Thanks. Do you know the exact name of the Hirobo Group on Facebook?
nice
You should run it.
Perhaps not but thanks.

Be interesting to measure the wheelbase between that and say a Lunchbox... That really does look 1/12th
Omg😮😮😮😮😮 🎉🎉🎉 where do you find this rare mt? 🎉🎉🎉🎉😮
A very nice model, but the rear-view mirrors are missing.
Thanks. Yes I'm aware they are missing. I have them. Just thought it looked better. Also where the dimple holes to mount the window are uneven on each side. not sure why they are not parallel. Thought that would look silly where one window was higher on one side than the other.
Is that a Fender Bender Speedway shirt?
It is. Good eye. Tom made them up for a few of us. I'm coming up on a milestone for the channel and am considering doing merchandise...
