When I was collecting records I was always on the lookout for that SRC album. In all the years collecting I never did see a copy of that album in the wild.

  • @dixielandfarm

That SRC pickup is definitely cool. I never noticed you had the hype sticker on the Stones record - nice.

  • @sideshowtink

So Alone was one of my fave LPs. I got that as soon as it came out back in the day! Would love to find that Los Baby's LP

  • @davidellis5141

So Alone is an amazing record. On his radio show , Bob Dylan plsyed " You Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory " & said he'd wish he had written something that good.

Love Smashing Pumpkins, I do like Siamese Dream more than Gish, but both excellent albums. Sister was a good find, I have a censored copy of that, cool you found an original. SRC is just great, too bad their other albums never hit the high mark like that one. Birthday Party's Junkyard LP is one of my favorites, I have one Nick Cave LP, but I never listen to it. Some heavy reggae there with U-Roy, I've only ever listened to Bob Marley, so I need to check that one out. That Stones live kicks it in mono! Some pretty cool finds this year Rich, here's hoping you find some killer stuff in the new year!

  • @andrewh7085

Forgot all about ubrown. Weather balloon was one of my favorite songs back in the day. Thanks

  • @GGfunhouse

I just wanted to say I like the channel. I agree with you about Sonic Youth. I like the early stuff by them too. Gish is a fantastic pickup.

  • @happyhippythevinylguy

Enjoyed the video, my friend love the Stones album

  • @seekingathread

SRC is great, just that one for me. I've listened to see if I need to purge but definitely not. I always loved Pisces Iscariot the most from the Pumpkins. I'm kind of with you on Nick Cave, I have 1 LP and a couple Birthday Party including that one. It's great. Dread In A Babylon is indeed killer. Have a reissue, check out the cover for the original Jamaican press. It's even better!

  • @TommysVinylnaut

Nice picks. Never see Los Babys type of albums here for sure. Happy New Year Richie!

  • @mistery-ed7900

Long ago in downtown LA I would see albums like that Los Babys. Like a fool I passed on those. If I only knew. I've got an OG of Feminine Complex which replaced a reissue. OK album.

  • @davidatkinson-lifematters4826

I'm off to play some James Brown. And I'd add that Stones album to my wants list, if I had one. That's a solid recommendation. Happy New Year VR, and keep the videos coming in '24.

  • @FatCityVinyl

I did an entire video on U Roy when he passed away. Think that's the album I have two copies of, one on the Virgin label with the girls and the dragon and then the green label circa the early 80's. Got the Feminine Complex framed on my wall, several years ago I was digging while on holiday in another city and found a copy in a 3 for $1 bin at a record store I'd never been to before, not a perfect album but a pretty nice find anyway. Happy new year Rich

Vinyl Richie,The Birthday Party were an anarchic post punk band. I’ve got a feeling you’d like all of their stuff. While solo Nick Cave & the bad seeds is more in line with gothic pop. Think latter day Elvis mixed with late 60s Scott Walker. If you’re interested in dipping into solo Nick Cave then I would highly recommend “Your Funeral…My Trial” every album since he put that album out in the mid 80s has been a variation on it. Well except for Ghosteen, but that’s another story. You can pick up a remastered/reissue of YF…MT for not a lot.

  • @SOUPENE

    Happy New year Vinyl Richie.

  • @cosmicvinyl2937

Wow an amazing batch of records! Love that Gish LP! I picked up that same press about 3 years ago and I was stoked becuz unlike the Smashing Pumpkins other albums, it was actually affordable LoL! I see those Los Baby’s records only when I’m scrolling around online I don’t think give ever seen them in the wild. I still kick myself for not picking up a copy of that Feminine Complex record when I seen it awhile back as I’ll not likely see it again at the price they were asking. I love that SRC album! Great 60’s stuff! Man you just can’t go wrong with the early Stones records! Man you had a damn good year Rich! Here’s to many more awesome finds in 2024! 🍻 Happy anew Year! ✨✌️👽✨

Firstly, I absolutely love that shirt! Second, I was recently going through my collection and realized that the Sonic Youth album I bought in 1987 has the uncensored cover. You're right about the 2 pictures that are now censored (Disney characters and the Richard Avedon photo). It also says, "The" Sonic Youth. How in demand is it? I get conlicting data from Discogs. Wishing you all the best in 2024!

  • @franksmusic2880

I can’t listen to Smashing Pumpkins because of the vocals but how can you favor them over Johnny Thunder’s first solo album? My favorite in your list is the James Brown album, not one of his best but still a good one. That live Stones mid sixties album is nothing but one big scream, so the screams sound better in mono..🤣 Happy New Year Richie.🎉

  • @ralphbolton4865

Got Live was the first Stones album I bought. Happy New Year Richie!

  • @RandallWeaver

SRC record looks great; I've never heard it, but I'd like to get it. Los Babys on ECO - fantastic if it sounds like the Ventures. Don't think I'll come across it in Nashville. U-Roy looks cool - I'll stream some of that one. Cool stack of records - happy New Year Vinyl Richie!
