Shit man, I can't really say I've ever given Wall of Voodoo the time of day, but you've got me curious now. The Gandlaf hype made me laugh, seeing how that thing's been reissued about half a dozen times. Speaking of boxes of records getting lost, do you remember that Legendary Pink Dots 4-picture disc set from a while back? Such great stuff! I am a huge fan of Poison Idea especially 'Record Collectors are Still Pretentious Assholes' Never a better title, right? Fun 45's! poppy Family Endless Sleep is a suicide type tune and their version is really psychy. I don't have All the Young Dudes on 45!
I didn’t really think of myself as a record collector until I saw that Poison Idea record.
Richie, that live Wall Of Voodoo is on my want- list now, thank you. The Plasmatics is a perfect name for a rock and roll band, the name is almost as good as The Beatles. Wendy O Williams was a true goddess and she had the breasts to prove it. I would love to hear her solo albums too!
I think her first solo albums will be one of my next purchases.
Poison idea > CCR all day
Shit man, I can't really say I've ever given Wall of Voodoo the time of day, but you've got me curious now. The Gandlaf hype made me laugh, seeing how that thing's been reissued about half a dozen times. Speaking of boxes of records getting lost, do you remember that Legendary Pink Dots 4-picture disc set from a while back? I'm pretty sure I accidentally donated it to the thrift store when I was moving one time. I'm not a huge fan, so it could have been worse, but I wasn't really done taking it in..
Before going on vacation I threw out some record shipping boxes. It turns out the Strawberry Alarm Clock debut that I just received was still in the box. I’m not sure you would like Wall of Voodoo. I saw lots of great bands play at the Whiskey. I would have to say Wall of Voodoo was the best. Take 5 minutes of your time and check out their version of Ring of Fire on TH-cam.
@@vinylrichie007 I picked up that Wall of Voodoo live this past weekend, after watching your video. I think it's pretty great, exactly the sort of thing I was looking for a few months ago, when I was checking out bands like the Durutti Column and the Pop Group.
I like poison idea a lot but for me the early stuff before there first full length is too samey for me. I really like kings of punk and feel the darkness. You gotta get that blank blackout vacant life album! It has a really good cover of Vietnamese baby. I was able to get the ramones demos and the punk 45, wanted the Gandalf but they didn’t get it in. That green tambourine and all the young dudes are cool. Sent you an email, got it from Mika, I’d like to send you a copy of the first girl trouble album, if not totally cool!
I have originals of Kings Of Punk and Feel The Darkness. I’ll pick up Blank Blackout. I’m sure the store still has a copy. When did you send an email? I don’t see it.
It was maybe a month ago? I’ll send it again
