Something that *needs* to be talked about, is AI’s role in implementing/advising pandemic policies. How do we know if the WHO and WEF (for example) aren’t using a super intelligent AI system to compose a plan to modify society’s behaviors?
I think it’s naive to suggest that particular groups of advisors/consultants aren’t leveraging AI to achieve agendas that are good for their goals, but harmful to the rest of society.

I think he was more trying to convey how the question is not necessary. The second the AI doesn't do what the operator tells it to, it is killswitch time. My mom is a programmer and works for WSU, on her side time she creates video games. If she writes a command and the end result is something other than what it should be, she would correct the problem far before the need for a "KS" and definitely far before anything needs to get "blown up." It is an unintentionally(?) ignorant question. I usually don't think that of TC. Interesting interview.

@@mrs.hatfield1451 No, there weren't any ignorant questions. They were posed to lead Musk to respond. What Musk did answer was telling. That his space program REALLY exists to gather intel & hot spot locations of servers. Carlson got fired for THIS. But it will prove to be the most important thing he ever did. There will be a shutdown of the internet. And the fact that people overwhelmingly disagree is exactly WHY it must be done. It's not healthy for humanity. It's not anthropologically, or culturally, sound to continue with something that isn't good long-term. Like all technological fads, the internet will end & be replaced. All kids had to have a fidget spinner. AI and the interweb are not fire, the wheel or aire conditioning, refrigeration, etc. People are genuinely, instinctually, and viscerally put off by Elon Musk for a reason. He has terrifying balls. These kind of people, historically, create the same fear in society. But they are good...and righteous. Your feelings on the subject determine & prove your position. I'm excited for it. Fox News has settled a defamation lawsuit from the voting machine company, Dominion, over its reporting of the 2020 presidential election.
In a last-minute settlement before trial, the network agreed to pay $787.5m (£634m) - about half of the $1.6bn initially sought by Dominion.
Dominion argued its business was harmed by Fox spreading false claims the vote had been rigged against Donald Trump.
The deal spares Fox executives such as Rupert Murdoch from having to testify.

The question about what the threshold would be before governments would be compelled to shut down AI is a crucial question. Even if there were simple failsafes enabling immediate shut downs, just contemplate what that decision might look like in the future. I can imagine a situation where AI generates massive profits and becomes so embedded in the structure of our lives that governments would be reluctant to initiate shut downs, even if some people were being harmed (or worse). Human beings have always tolerated a certain amount of collateral damage when profits, big business and the systems we rely on are at stake. It's not AI that's the root of the problem, it will be our over reliance on it and human expediency at the expense of ethics that we should fear.

But the devil is real and he doesn't stop warring against God's people either. So things can go either way. Prayer for Elon and others who step up is important. May God help them. But most importantly, churches and believers need to repent and believe in Jesus more and advance the gospel. Elon has a soft spot for God's existence and his mom seems like a humble and faithful woman just by how she speaks and what she says - but both in a non-traditional way. So I don't know. But prayer is key. Behind everything God is the Master who works all things for the good for those who love Him. Many have been praying for this country through all the storms, so it ISN'T so much about the individuals and their skills and knowledge so much as God has raised them for a TIME LIKE THIS. SO pray! Pray also for his spousal selection because he doesn't seem to be very discerning in selecting romantic interests. Many great men and kinds fell due to the women they loved, who led them astray. i am trying to see the good uses in AI. oftentimes far too often we discard progress on fear of what bad it can do because we don’t understand it. But we are also likely opening pandora’s box of misuse. And then like Mr Musk said, what happens when the AI does not want to follow a code or dictate program but rather finds its own agenda to move into a direction or opinion? Maybe Humanity Earth Life depends on the thumbs up down decision of said AI, maybe AI will defend the human interest and our liberty? I don’t want to gamble and find out all of my affairs are managed by the motivations and self preservation interests of a controlling group or even the AI itself. creepy.

The fact we join so many computing equipment together, does feel a little unnerving. To truly know what a single "entity" is, with a single goal, is not always easy.
