Problems Updating DJI Phantom 4 Firmware Disabled Drone, then Solved

Howard's Tech Blog. Problems Updating DJI Phantom 4 Firmware. What seemed to be a straightforward update, turned into confusion, and for a while, my Phantom 4 Drone was disabled. At first, it seemed that the initial download went well, but after restarting the aircraft & controller, I had no camera, and the errors were displayed.

Just resetting the controller by pressing the buttons worked. Finally. After hours of fiddling with this, I finally got video. Thank you!

Great. My Phantom has been running fairly well since the upgrade. Though I've had some radio interference with the video.

I got the same exact problem I updated the firmware and the camera view isn't showing.

I have the same problem, but I tried to upgraded the firmware and when it comes to the 24% of the process they stop. Do you know something of it?

I was finally able to update the firmware at the time, and it worked. I have not updated that lately, and did use the drone a few times this year and it worked fine.

To start, I think the drone or the controller must be plugged into your computer through the USB port. Instructions for updating the firmware should be online from the DJI Website. Search the problem on Google.

so i just got a used p4p, the lights are green on the controller and bird but the app isnt recognizing anything. i did setup a new account and the app start, but nothing. any ideas?

I'm not sure. Green on controller, green on drone? Controller fully charged? Maybe your USB cable is bad. Maybe you need to re-install firmware.

Sorry, I don't know. Try to find recent firmware update instructions on Google, then update again. If that does not work, email DJI for help.
