APPARENTLY, there were talks when the show came out about the classic Sailor Uniform being phased out for something more boring like we have stateside. I'm not sure if it went through or not, but it was meant to be a farewell to it.

I always took it as a song trying to emulate the crazy and wacky way school can be. With a strange obsession with sailor uniforms thrown in for some classic Japan weirdness.

This was one of the few anime I actually watched dubbed, simply because I thought it was "too much trouble" to read subtitles. I now prefer the Japanese voices, but I will watch dubs if I have heard it is exceptional good. I am still ok with dub watchers. Anime is made to be entertaining, so people should be able to watch it in whatever way suits them best.
