I've fitted a strip light the entire length of the roof lining. The infrared sensor to remotely adjust it is routed through the hole for the original ightbulb. The control box takes a 12v DC input and is soldered to the output of the original light bulb (so it works with both the door switch and the manual switch) and it seems to work fine when the engine is running and providing ~14.5v. I get light in the front and back seats as well as some in the boot when its open. It has custom light settings which I used to fine tune the RGB lights to be a perfect shade of white. I'm not sure if it was legal but I also have a custom preset I call "submarine mode" which is a dull red and I once drove home from work in the dark with the dull red light illuminating the entire interior of the car.
Nice. Dunno shout legality’s but can’t see you getting in trouble for it unless they pulled you thinking it was a mobile knocking shop 🤷♀️. Red light doesn’t cause your pupils to adjust and close the same way as white does hence why it’s used in the military and for tail lights. Tail lights cos doesn’t dazzle the same way, and the military use it in submarines cos you can still see in the dark without waging for your eyes to adjust once it’s turned off.
here we go ,, yep a gem of a video ,,, but Im not sure sitting in the car in the dark flashing your interior lights on and off will yield the results your expecting ,,, some of the flashes you get may be quite shocking ,,, and I dont mean electrically either.
Good repair, problem solved. Only thing is,, I would have used a polymer sealant instead of silicon. If you'd have to use silicon then use neutral cure type as it does not contain the the vinegar smelling acid that will damage the paint underneath. Neutral cure silicone has a toothpaste smell so you'll know it won't cause corosion.

You could at least have changed the aerial for a cool halfords 'bee stinger'? I'm keen to see how the power saving of using leds affects performance 😄 And happy birthday you old git!
From my experience with trying LED's, I've found I just end up going back to a good quality incandescent. LED's always tend to have a cool white look to them, which I strongly dislike. I much prefer the original softer glow of the incandescent type.
I'll have agadoo in my head for a week now, cheers! 🤣 Pretty sure most LED bulbs will use a bridge rectifier these days to make them work either way round
Entertaining as usual !! Ive put blue led interior lights in my motor ! More for effect and look than need for a bright light !! Does citreon have a puddle light ?? I like changing them too !!
I have the exact same issue, i pulled it out and i can see its all rusted up. I judt bought a new loghtfitting from ebay thinking other one packed up. My aerial definitely had a leak. So can inuse anything else to clean the rust. Because teh new unit didnt work , does tht mean possibly the blue connector packed up frm water damage?
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos Yeah but you mentioned bathroom sealant. A friend of mine once used bathroom sealant on the valve cover of his camaro. Was not a good result.
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos Yeah. I changed the antenna on my peugeot 206 last year vecasue the threaded part had been broken off. It had alot of clear silicone around the base. The sealing job was very poorly done but a new base solved that.
Bit disappointing when the bulb is no brighter than before. Is the reception any better with all the silicone you used?? One less leak on the shitter as you call it.
Reception is about the same tbh. The light isn’t brighter but the light off it makes it easier to see. Brighter ones are available though, this is just a shit one I found in my toolbox… which I probably took out of something else cos it was shit 🤷♀️
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos had the same type of leak in a Renault scenic, turns out the sunroof drain pipes were clogged. Turns out there is 2 fuses for the radio/light I checked the one on the side of the steering wheel and it was fine but there is another fuse under the bonnet , stupid fucking cars 😂

Bl00dy grand job that. Loved the metal polish to get shot of the green crustys…. Not used that one before!
