You are both superstars. Sharing raw, painful life experiences and then looking up and forward in such a positive way. Truly amazing and inspiring. I'm going to share this with many of my patients.
Dr. Hyman… I knocked off sugar and processed foods for 6 weeks and lost ten lbs without exercise. Also my heart rate has dropped more than 10 beats a minute! I am 58 and in a wheel chair. I am hoping to lose more and be able to get in the pool again for exercise. I am not as hungry as I was before eating all the sugar.
You both exude such good energy, authenticity and humbleness. Such underrated qualities in a field overflowing with narcissists and "box mentality". Truly a pleasure watching this.
Andrew Huberman has done therapy every week for 30 years (said on Peter Attia podcast). Nothing wrong with therapy, a "tune-up" what have you. We need to end the stigma of grief, mental illness, etc. We are not robots, we are human beings.
An important video and dialogue about the human condition. I felt validated that I am not alone in the challenges in this life. Kindness to self is paramount and - "we cannot give to others that which we haven't given to our self FIRST" - the golden rule of self-care. On a personal note - my travels have been the best education with direct immersion into the culture of my global destinations - so awesome to experience! Thanks Dr. Hyman, for sharing about your transcendent experiences in India. Powerful sharing, caring, and healing - lot's of wisdom here.
2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of POWER and of LOVE and of a SOUND MIND. . I pray all those who are lost, scared, confused, in fear, seek God's face and let him restore your heart and mind, In Jesus name! 🙌 Amen 🙏
A little too much levity here. With all the laughter it diminishes the hard work that we have to do in a recovery process. Why is that not addressed here. I’m a childhood trauma survivor and have had to do 20 years of research on toxic family dynamics and going no contact from my family of origin. The betrayal alone coming from my parents and 6 younger siblings is shocking when u experience it even when the books and therapists tell u this will happen. Which is grief personified and lasts a lifetime to some degree. I believe depression is prolonged grieving.
You are so right. My main traumas are: - childhood trauma, - loss of our 2nd born at 6 months due to a rare genetic condition, - almost loosing my life with massive journey of recovery after falling 8.5m off a ladder then almost dying 3 times from full body infection which initially partially paralysed me-was woken shortly after with blue lips, another close one was in hospital undergoing change in pain meds and the original fall which rendered me unconscious. IDK how I survived. I gave my father another chance after a long period of non contact and as they say, “ a leopard doesn’t change its spots”. I had to break ties once again which cut me deeply-still does, but I have to protect not only myself, but my family. He is toxic and a narcissist. 37 operations in total.
Judgy comment... Kris has bravely dealt with a rare stage IV CA for 2 decades. Since the diagnosis she has made numerous changes to improve her quality of life and appears to be a compassionate self reflective individual.
@@celticsunise4ever Of course it is "judgy"; we all have to make a judgement about anyone giving advice to the public at large whether he/she can be viewed a trustworthy source of such advice. There are millions of people all over the world bravely dealing with cancer and I empathize with them but I don't necessarily look to them for life coaching. I cannot imagine someone who has been in therapy for 30 years is an emotionally healthy individual. In fact, how can anyone afford to even pay for it for so long? Just can't wrap my head around it at all.
What a beautiful person she is
Thank you Mark for this wonderful sharing and discovery ! Blessing to all of you reading this message 💖 Félicia (from France !🇫🇷 )

Thanks Robert for your sharing. We are cheering you on. 😊
@@chiingekang8235 12 lbs down now. Starting to feel better. This has been surprisingly easy. Dr. Hyman just gave the necessary information I lacked!
You're lucky to lose just by dropping sweets & processed food. I think too much fat that won't melt away. Giving up but no avail.😢

Why does stage 4 cancer matter if you can live 20-50 years anyway. Did you take chemo? Is that what kills people?
Wow 😢
You look absolutely amazing for 52 you look 35
💖❤️💖🙏❤️💖❤️
"In therapy for 30 years"! My goodness, that is not a good role model for most of us.
Actually it is reflection of a very sick system that has let down those trying find their way through it...

@@Arabzene Hard to imagine NOT going through therapy for 30 years when life's challenges are fast and furious.
This was amazing I’m so glad I found your channel…❤️🩹
