You know, Megatron might be a tyrant but he is an effective leader for the Decepticons. Starscream just enjoy the pleasure of being in charge but he isn't exactly fit for the responsibility especially seen in the mission to hijack the Autobots's cargo ship with the Combaticons. When he just boss around and abandon the mission in the end despite Onslaught's prior warnings, the Combaticons disobeyed him and was able to secure the ship even if it was just half of the cargo that are still intact. And yet, he dismissed them since they disobeyed his order which actually bring a decent result.

one thing i like about the Aligned version of Soundwave is how eternally loyal he is to Megatron. Here, Prime, even Robots in Disguise, he's always loyal to him. probably the only Con in the whole sub-franchise to not betray him, too

It happened again later in the final battle if you play Megatron. He jumps ontop of a downed Optimus, you then go 1st person. Megatron starts laughing and punching Optimus in the face. Optimus will then block one punch and grab Megatron's chest and pull him in for a headbutt to get free. Your screen gets badly shaken and screeches when Optimus does that.
I wish, they made more transformer games like this. Despite somewhat liking the idea of the dark spark in the rise of the dark spark game. It wasn't that great in my opinion. (It wasn't the earth and cybertron mix.) I guess, when it came to transformers. I always preferred it, when you could play both sides. (Autobot and decepticon.) Then again, i may be being biased. Due to the fact, i honestly prefer fall of cybertron over rise of the dark spark. And the fact, i could play as the decepticons in the former.

I really love this voice of Megatron. It sounds strong and imposing. I also remember a comic when he was as big as Fortress Macimus and beat Firt Max to near death. Would love to see Prime and Megs that powerful in animated form.

Megatron has always been my favorite character, and these games have been my favorite interpretation. He just yells the most powerful, yet obscene things and I just love it!
It's been what, 6? 7 or so years since this game came out, and it really doesnt show its age tbh, like, a few textures are a bit messy here and there, but I guarantee a texture mod for a PC port would make it look like a brand new game. High moon did an amazing job with the transfomers property and it's a shame we had to loose them.
The war for Cybertron and fall of Cybertron games along with tfp are the reasons that Megatron is by far my favorite transformer. I always loved him more than optimus despite everyone loving optimus. I just find him way too badass and such a good villian. Truly underrated and one of the best villians of all time

Since soundwave rebuilt megatron, he knows every weakness and strength of megatrons' new body, which means if he wanted, he could take out megatron anytime he wants, but he won't because he's eternally loyal to megatron and follows him without question. The Decepticons were in the middle of an energy crisis, as well as an massive environmental crisis, and in all probability the only reason they were follow Starscream was out of desperation also well as to prevent Shockwave from being leader. Yet Screamer thought it was still a good idea to have an expensive coronation right after suffering a massive defeat that killed most of his remaining Seekers and Veichicons. If Megatron didn't return, the Decepticons would've either starve to death, or Shockwave would make over and establish a regime so horrble that even Big Brother would blush.
Imagine how starscream felt when he saw megatron randomly appear out of nowhere to taunt him, the 2 best possible choices to lead the decepticons after megatron are obviously soundwave and shockwave
I love how this version of Megatron actually shows some level of care for his subordinates and unleashes his anger on Starscream and all the traitors. That's a side of him we've never seen before and something we didn't know we needed that this franchise gave us. He's strict and determined yet careful and somewhat compassionate and I'm absolutely all for it.
That cutscene at the end though. My god that was epic! To see the ship flying right through the middle of the Cybertronian civil war, amazing scene with such incredible detail!

This mission is the main reason the Cybertron games have one of my favorite versions of Megatron. You really FEEL how powerful he is when you play this mission and the mission after. Plus there’s also the fact that he’s characterized as brutal and ruthless as Megatron should be, especially with what he did to Trypticon. That moment there was a fine example of Megatron not seeing his soldiers as people, just another tool in his arsenal to further his agenda. Sure he may show special treatment to his subordinates like Soundwave, but the minute they slip up and fail, he throws them away.
It's a shame that the multiplayer servers for this game shut down, I absolutely loved it. I mean, I know people weren't playing it but still... it's kind of sad.

The Decepticons were in the middle of an energy crisis, as well as an massive environmental crisis, and in all probability the only reason they were follow Starscream was out of desperation also well as to prevent Shockwave from being leader.
Yet Screamer thought it was still a good idea to have an expensive coronation right after suffering a massive defeat that killed most of his remaining Seekers and Veichicons.
If Megatron didn't return, the Decepticons would've either starve to death, or Shockwave would make over and establish a regime so horrble that even Big Brother would blush.

I love how this version of Megatron actually shows some level of care for his subordinates and unleashes his anger on Starscream and all the traitors.
That's a side of him we've never seen before and something we didn't know we needed that this franchise gave us.
He's strict and determined yet careful and somewhat compassionate and I'm absolutely all for it.
That cutscene at the end though. My god that was epic! To see the ship flying right through the middle of the Cybertronian civil war, amazing scene with such incredible detail!

This mission is the main reason the Cybertron games have one of my favorite versions of Megatron. You really FEEL how powerful he is when you play this mission and the mission after. Plus there’s also the fact that he’s characterized as brutal and ruthless as Megatron should be, especially with what he did to Trypticon. That moment there was a fine example of Megatron not seeing his soldiers as people, just another tool in his arsenal to further his agenda. Sure he may show special treatment to his subordinates like Soundwave, but the minute they slip up and fail, he throws them away.

Well starscream motivation in becoming a leader is of self satisfaction. He's a greedy and ambitious con. And if he becomes a permanent leader, i doubt that the decepticons would last a megacycle
The Armada Version of Starscream was different: He selflessly sacrificed himself to show to Galvatron what would be the fate of his people by Unicron if he didn’t join force with the Autobot’s.

Christ, you can see why Megs chose a SPACE TANK as his Alt Mode, it's Power Incarnate and his Fusion/Riot Cannon, is the best weapon in the whole game and it's his Standard Issued, lol. I could play a Whole game as this Megatron!
