Yeah, the Kona is the direct competitor to the HR-V. The Venue competes with the Toyota C-HR, which is also available in FWD only. I have the Kona and I love it. The turbo 1.6 engine is a hoot.
I've watched several reviews on the Venue - and I've driven it myself, as it is a car I'm considering for my daughter. I find your over-the top bashing of this vehicle to be spectacularly funny.
really want bang for the buck!!or Honda if you wI know the ten year warranty is tempting, but Mitsubishi also has ten year warranty and I still wouldn't recommend it! Go for Toyota abuy a Hyundai or KIA!! Go GDon't d
People still expect Hyundai’s to be way less than the competition but want the interior quality to be as comparable or better, they have to cut cost somewhere to get the value for money.
I bought a new 2019 Touring loaded for $32,O00 Canadian. Maybe they are including tax. Absolutely love it. Great engine. Versatile. To date, 8.4 per litre. Holds road remarkably in winter with four wheel drive without snow tires. Versatile for hauling anything. Great safety features lowered my insurance. Quite. Nice quality leather seating. Up to date lighting system outside. Nice styling.
I have a 14 Toyota Yaris and was bummed to find out hatchbacks are being discontinued in N America. I'm leaning Venue for the value. Hyundai is just behind Toyota and Honda when it comes to reliability and I like that I can get a deal for a new not used option.
In USA, the Venue would be more attractive, as USA Hyundai vehicles come with a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty (160,000 kilometers) on the engine and transmission along with a 5 year/60,000 mile (100,000 kilometers) bumper to bumper warranty. In Canada, you only get the 5 year/100,000 kilometer bumper to bumper warranty.
We have a 2020 HR-V Honda, SPORT MODEL, We just love it, HONDA SENSING is standard, Michelin 18 inches all seasons tires, No comparison including Hyundai😡 Honda fun SUV vehicle to drive, Power no problem here, 👍🇨🇦
We got the HRV as a second car but just for driving around the city. I agree the engine is very weak and the lack of a heated steering wheel especially in Canada is unacceptable. The gas mileage is incredible, the cargo room along with the magic seats is very good and overall for a city car it fits the bill.
I understand you well, cheap people go for quantity and not quality. If you looking for quality you will get honda other than that is good for 2 to 3years then garbage
I have a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon V6 99,000 miles...Only replaced a radiator ($100-) Also drive a 2006 Hyundai Sonata V6 w/138,000...Only oil changes and brakes.
@@JohnnyTyrone77 Your global mileage is low, but i'm happy for you...we all know that Hyundai has improved a lot over the years. Here in Quebec the Hyundai Kona is selling like hot cakes !!!
@@JohnnyTyrone77 Same, a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. Have owned it since 2012 and no issues in 9 years!!!! Still going strong. Will keep it until the wheels fall off but this Hyundai Venue is so appealing though
You're comparing a Honda that is based on the Fit to a Hyundai, based on the Accent. Like comparing hardwood to cardboard. You buy cheap: you get cheap. You really do get what you pay for.
I have a 2013 Hyundai Sonata since November 2012. No issues during its 9 year life. And I have Hyundai's 10 year/100,000 warranty. Cheap you say? Then I bought cheap and have gotten 9 years out of it and still going strong.
The dealers in America push unnecessary extras with the Venue which increase its price, nto as high as the Honda, but still a big increase. Who, forexample, wants to pay $30.00 for a required first aid kit?
You're idiots comparing hrv to venue. Honda is about quality! Venue is too cheap to compare to the hrv. Good for 2 to 3 years then garbage it but Honda is for life!
I'm having a hard time finding Venue in base model that's not black. Can you belive that? Even finding base model was a challenge. Hyundai dealers don't want to sell them? Btw that's very odd couple you are comparing here. Very different vehicles, almost like apples and oranges kind of thing.
Bro. Your head was up in that sunroof opening in the venue more than the hrv and the hrv is slow but that venue is a snail with two or more people driving along with you.
the Honda is ugly AF, what a surprise.. Their designers must have been smoking some weird stuff for the last 6-7 years. the Venue looks like a normal car at least
HRV competes with the AWD Kona - not the 8k less expensive FWD-only Venue. 8K is a MASSIVE difference at this entry-level price point.
I agree... I have an HR V and I look at the Kona when I'm comparing cars on the road...
Very true. How can anyone compare those two? Odd choice.

I mean... It did win the comparison
This is the car I have and I love it so much

I think he gave the pros and cons on both cars.

anyone that pays 35k for a maxed out hrv must be crazy, for that would rather get a base venue plus a base micra and still have money left over
I understand you well, cheap people go for quantity and not quality.
If you looking for quality you will get honda other than that is good for 2 to 3years then garbage
Byamungu Musa i have a base hrv and paid 23k, the quality is not that great, sure top trim has lots more features but not worth 12k more
So since the 2020 version, they truly listen to customers and became a major upgrade compared to the 2020.
Considering their bigger gas consumption, by far, than a small hatch, are they really affordable?
What will be better to drive in the wintertime?
I just got a 2020 HRV in the US. It's a great car. The Venue is an unknown quantity. Can't go wrong with a Honda.
For 4-5 years=Hyundai...for long term=Honda by far !!!

thanks for the info! can you do a comparison with Kona too? tx
Tofu K We’ll definitely keep it in mind! Any preferred rival to compare it to?
Great content. I could not stand the background music though; stopped about 1/3 of the way through because of it.

Wow, you could be cited for distracted driving! Your eyes are rarely on the road. Such a bad example!
Sounds to me like the honda is a win
The difference in cost price new will be made up in depreciation. The Honda holds its resale value much better than the Hyundai.
not with that ugly @ss design

I have a long torso and sunroofs cost 1 or 2 inches of headroom. I cannot fit in most cars with sunroofs.
Who the ASS has $35,000 to blow on a car!? NOT in Canada where poverty is the NORM!!!
Thx Trudeau
If you are tall, buy a fucking bigger car !
The lesson here is... if you're tall, you cannot afford to be poor.
