Before we can compare pre-McDaniel Tua to post-McDaniel Tua, we need to look at what the circumstances were before. Brian Flores didn't want Tua and had him hamstrung. In addition, Tua was still dealing with a lingering injury for his first year and early part of his second year. When McDaniel came in, he was finally on a team that wanted him and let him play ball. That's naturally going to create a different type of player. It's not just that he got weapons and a strong coach. It's that he got all that while also finally being allowed to be himself.

AFC South isnt the worst divisnion in football, maybe 2 seasons ago. And why are we acting like the Jags have a great roater around him. Him and a lot of his offensive teammates were injured for most of his season. No Zay Jones for most of the season, same with Kirk. Both of his LTs missed significant time while already being one of the worst olines in the league, his Center was the worst or second worst starting Centers in the league, and the defense that couldnt stop anyone through the air. While the team was still relatively healthy they were 8-2 and tied for the #1 seed, then he got a couple major injuries that really limited his play. Regardless of the record in 22-23 season he played well, was nearly top 10 by the end of the season.
